  1. U say u have 19" alloys, yet u give specs of an 18" tyre!?!? Given u have an L&K - I'd say u have 19" alloys with the standard 235/40/19 tyres. I used to have the factory 16" spare, now I've got a full size 19" as spare. 19" full size spare.....
  2. Sadly plenty of VAG vehicles here in Oz suffer from butter soft brake discs. I've seen countless change their discs well before they hit the 50k kms mark!!! Plenty more being told at their 45k kms service that their rotors will need to b replaced. That's impressive that ur wife's Q3 has done 150k kms plus on the factory brakes!!!
  3. Likely it's been helping that little bit here n there. I've been doing lots of twisty mountain road driving with plenty of braking, over the years. Not sure if it's related, but Gandalf has done almost 75k kms now and still plenty of meat left in the factory original brakes.
  4. Yes it's possible - u just need to get in touch with Julian first to organize it. The requirements for recipients are: 1. a VAS5054A diagnostic dongle 2. Laptop with Windows 7 or 10. Laptop needs approx 100GB storage available. 3. Ability to Jack car up in your garage to have all 4 wheels off the ground at the same time 4. Wifi range to the garage where the car is 5. Ideally (but not essential) a battery charger while the upgrade is in progress due to battery drain while ignition is on. And you need Julian to send you a link to download some software and for him to do the rest.
  5. Yes it just sits in top, but one end (top right) is wedged under firewall trim. It's not ideal as it's loose, but it's been good the past few years. Hasn't come off, no matter the driving conditions or style. The battery felt cover around the sides also helps it stay put.
  6. Yup, that's the one. I sourced mine from AliExpress, including the battery cover. 7. Not much on mine - the obvious things r aftermarket intake, carbon fiber turbo inlet pipe, bling on the engine cover, engine cover extension and hard plastic battery cover. No bling bling colours for me.
  8. given u have the new 2Q0 A5 Camera - do u have Predictive ACC (pACC) enabled on ur car? i hear good and bad things about how it works.
  9. That would b the Driver Profile. All good. It's not a competition with points. We're all here to learn and help.
  10. Those r ur Driving Profiles, not DCC modes. DCC only has Comfort / Normal / Sport modes.
  11. @langers2k,@igrozan - I have an MY17 that came with 10 color ambient lighting, however it doesn't have the ambient lighting change based on the driving profile selected. I recently had my Gateway software flashed/upgraded to cater for the DCC slider mode. See my part numbers below. Based on my newer gateway software revision - do u think I'll be able to enable this automatic ambient lighting, that u guys have successfully done? my 19 Gateway.... 19 Gateway System description: GW MQB High Software number: 3Q0907530AA Software version: 5366 Hardware number: 3Q0907530C Hardware version: 515 Serial number: 20031710802543 ODX name: EV_GatewNF ODX version: 013025 Long coding: 030100047F085900EB00025E9C0F00010001070000000000000000000000 My 09 Central Electrics:- 09 Central Electrics System description: BCM MQBAB H Software number: 5Q0937084CG Software version: 0236 Hardware number: 5Q0937084CG Hardware version: H34 Serial number: 02001706702006 ODX name: EV_BCMMQB ODX version: 017001 Long coding: 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Thanks
  12. I tried this today - no deal, at least on mine. Set the Cruise Control mode to Speed Limiter, set the speed, accelerate normally to reach the set speed, then put pedal to the metal!!! The car didn't even flinch!!! U say that u get annoying sounds when u exceed the limit - I'm pretty sure u r experiencing the "Speed Warning" feature, which is set via the Instrument cluster in the dash. This independent of the Cruise Control set speed. This would explain why u can exceed the Cruise Control set speed. Wat is ur Speed Warning set to? In my case, the Speed Warning is set to 120 km/h, cause the max allowed on Australian freeways is 110 km/h. When I'm on the freeway, I set the ACC to 115 km/h. When I accelerate to overtake and IF I exceed 120 km/h - I get the boings and on screen warning message, that will only disappear when I drop back below 120 km/h.
  13. depending on DCC mode, or Driving Profile mode? i would've thought the later, as that's the normal behaviour on MY18 onwards.
  14. Yes oh great Master @mazzy960 I'll go back to looking at my reflection in the mirror........
  15. @ApertureS - as much as u r being helpful and taking the time n effort to tell this person wat needs to b done - they're simply not listening!!! Breathe in.... Breathe out....
  16. It's the inner Fast n Furious Boy Racer in me stickers 😋 Whiteline APR Eibach Rieger
  17. Nice move. It's makes a great difference by increasing the profile size. Plenty of us here in Oz have made that switch.
  18. U can't split the USB connection next to the 12v socket - u'll loose ur "data" connectivity and hence the ability to use Android Auto or CarPlay. If u want to split, u need a proper VW USB Hub splitter and the associated USB ports. Wire it all up, give it power, then code it in. I changed my rear 12v socket to USB, so I can connect my phone and other stuff via cable if needed. My rear ones can only be used for charging.
  19. Where u put or charge ur phone has no impact on the AAWireless device. As long as it is connected to the USB port via a cable. I have a Google Pixel 5 - so I can put it in the phonebox and charge it wirelessly, while it's connected to the AAWireless. Do u have an additional USB port under ur centre armrest console? If so, u can place an aftermarket wireless charger in there, and keep ur big phone there.
  20. with regards to using Android Auto wireless with ur existing setup - i highly recommend the AAWireless device. i've been using for a years now its great. no issues and so convenient. it stays plugged into the car's usb port. ur phone connects to it wirelessly, each time u start the car. my AAWireless fits nicely in the phonebox, and i can even close the lid.
  21. When I had 235/40/19 tyres before, I had no rubbing/scrubbing issues with 15mm spacers front & rear. My car is also lowered 20mm. Now I have switched to 245/40/19 tyres - front was fine with the 15mm spacer, but the rear would scrub on full compression. So I now have 10mm spacers at the back.
  22. Yup. I would never use the apps as u have no idea wat the app is doing to achieve it's target. I'd rather do each bit step by step, so I know exactly wat has been changed. Plenty have used apps with no issues. Just as many have used apps with adverse side effects, and being unable to reverse the changes out completely. End of the day - tis ur car, ur choice.
  23. see the how-to PDF i created. yes, tis easy to remove. u do need the front jacked up and the wheels removed. Removing Front Bumper.pdf
  24. Hmm..... admittedly I didn't give it FULL throttle. Will try full throttle next time and c if that makes a difference.
