  1. mine is set to "late", so its not trigger happy every time i go under a bridge or pass the shade of a tree. otherwise i'm quite happy with the "auto-ness" of my lights switching on/off, given the various conditions.
  2. yes, u need to remove the wheel arch liner from both sides if u need to change both bulbs. otherwise just remove the side u need to change. u can see the back of the headlight in the image below. it is possible from the top, engine bay, but access will b very very tight, and u risk damaging bulb, the holder or even much up the motor alignment inside the headlight.
  3. That's a good video That particular car has SLA headlights, hence it has the green "ring" holder for the D3S globe. Non-SLA headlights use a different, spring squeeze clip to hold the xenon bulb. Every other process is exactly the same. I've changed mine twice, one to retrofit SLA headlights, and 2nd time to change to Phillips xTremeVisions - so l'm familiar with the annoying process. There is also a detailed How-to Guide in the "Superb Guides" section in this forum.
  4. The mk3 pre-facelift Superb has either Bi-xenons, or halogens. Not both. It uses a single D3S xenon bulb to do both low and high beams.
  5. Yes, that is dashcam footage from my car. Mine is fitted with Smart Light Assist, hence it changes the beam shapes a considerable amount when masking. I'm not exactly sure wat u mean by near-side, centre-line and off-side - sorry. Got some other footage - don't know if these r any different to wat ur describing.....
  6. unfortunately the latest MIB3 units r riddled with issues. not just with the various Skoda models, but also with VW and Seat models. tis a shame cause it ruins the new car experience. fingers crossed they release a new firmware soon for it.
  7. I only ever use the jack stands on the axle points. I use the trolley jack on the sills to lift the car, then place the jack stands.
  8. Correct - that's because u don't currently have the AFS Slave module (8U0941329) connected to ur 3V1 headlight. That module controls the AFS and DRL functionality.
  9. As far as I know, 3V1941016A requires the AFS slave module (8U0941329), and it has AFS function. Mine certainly did have it, the only difference mine was a RHD version (3V2). I don't know why the Chinese models r getting the same 3V1941016A without the 8U0 module, and hence no AFS function. In theory, if u put the AFS slave module (8U0941329) in ur existing 3V1 headlights - u should get the AFS functionality ur after.
  10. Bi-Xenon set for LHD = 3V1 941 015 A & 3V1 941 016 A - these have been superseded with 3V1 941 017 A & 3V1 941 018 A Bi-Xenon set for RHD = 3V2 941 015 A & 3V2 941 016 A - these have been superseded with 3V2 941 017 A & 3V2 941 018 A Bi-Xenon (with SLA) set for LHD = 3V1 941 015 B & 3V1 941 016 B - these have been superseded with 3V1 941 017 B & 3V1 941 018 B Bi-Xenon (with SLA) set for RHD = 3V2 941 015 B & 3V2 941 016 B - these have been superseded with 3V2 941 017 B & 3V2 941 018 B again, i don't know wat 3VD is all about....
  11. i don't understand - 3V1941016A already has AFS functionality. in fact those headlights have AFS2 functionality. they adjust to different speeds, weather conditions, city/urban/highway driving etc etc. how is 3VD941016A different? i'm not familiar with this headlight version. in theory, ur AFS slave modules (8U0) will get its parameters from the 55-headlight controller module. assuming those r the correct slave modules the 3VD headlights.
  12. 3VD.....strange part number!! either way, as @ApertureS said, u need version B headlights, i.e. part number end in "B". also, u have the incorrect AFS slave modules. u need the version beginning with 4H0. VCDS is not the only thing, u also need to load the parameter file, using ODIS or VCP, to the 4B-multifunction module. however given urs is MY16, it might be the 55-headlight module.
  13. that's the disadvantage of the Eibachs - they don't sell the front & rear bars individually, only as a set. i ended up getting a Hardrace Suspension 25.4mm rear sway bar for my 220.
  14. indeed - they r both pretty much identical, with the 18" being 10 mm taller (sidewall) by me switching from 235/40/19 to 245/40/19 - i gained 5mm in sidewall height, resulting in better ride comfort the speedometer reading is also closer to the true GPS speed now.
  15. I too struggled to refit the A-pillar trim back in place, especially the bottom area where the dash meets the windscreen and A-pillar.
  16. The footwell lights r on all the time, albeit dimmed while driving, unless u turned them off in the menu. They can also b dimmed or brighten for while driving. Go to "Car" menu. Select Settings, scroll down to "Background Lighting" U'll c ur options there.
  17. I disagree. It's simple - the fuel card states the minimum load index required, for each of the approved tyre sizes. It's not about, nor states, the tyre being standard or XL. That's the owners choice. If u have 235/40/19 tyres, the minimum load rating required is 96. Simple. I can b stupid n get a dirt cheap 235/40/19 tyre with a load index rating of 92, which fails to meet the minimum requirements, hence a defect, and making insurance void. Or I can buy same sized tyre, with the correct load rating of 96, for double the price (almost). I also don't understand why u keep referring to the Superb being fitted with the 245/45/18 tyres - it's not. Standard is 235/45/18, as shown in the fuel card too. Yes u can fit 245/45/18s, but it's not the standard, nor common. I've increased the tyre profile on mine by fitting 245/40/19 (96 XL) instead of the standard 235/40/19.
  18. That load index for the 19" is incorrect - the minimum required load index is 96, as indicated on the fuel flap....
  19. Only MIB3 units will allow for USB-C ports. The MIB2 and MIB2.5 units do not have the additional wiring required to support them, hence won't work. Part number is 3G5035726B, for the USB-C version.
  20. Go to the Tyre Pressure screen, under Vehicle Status and reset it there by hitting "SET".
  21. No. Springs, swaybar, tune, dogbone. Doesn't matter wat order. My initial focus was handling (suspension), cause I was happy with the factory horsepower. However, with ECU Tune, it gives me the ability to have crazy power at any speed, like overtaking. I had a DSG tune on my previous MK2 Octavia RS - made the driving experience fun, hence it's definitely going to happen with my Superb too.
  22. The following have transformed my 220 - so much more fun, yet still so so cruisy n comfortable. - APR Stage 1 ECU tune (up to 316 hp now) - Eibach Prokit lowering springs. More responsive suspension feel, less swaying. Including a DCC recalibration to match. - Hardrace rear swaybar. Car stays flat while cornering. - 034 motorsport dogbone lower insert. No more wheel hoping, and DSG shifts r more crisper n faster. Next up is a DSG tune to round things up.
  23. replacing wipers on a 2020 Superb already?!?!!! phwoahhh!! were they defective to have worn out so quickly?
  24. I made a comparison video when I changed mine a few years ago. I have the same Auxito bulb. LED bulb in the left side of video. Factory halogen on the right.
  25. @plutus- not significant difference, but the wagon is actually shorter, sitting at 4856mm. The sedan is 4861mm. Tis only a 5mm difference.
