  1. Of course it is. There is a LOT of overthinking going on here, this is a really simple problem being made complicated and the clock is ticking.
  2. Arrrgghh, my eyeses! Just goes to show, you can't buy good taste. What a stupendous waste of money.
  3. Call your insurance company, they will arrange repair with a European partner. That's what insurance is for. If you have NCD protection then it's protected isn't it!
  4. Fuel temperature sensor, try unplugging it.
  5. That's the tight side when the engine is running.
  6. Ok, but it's really not very important so why worry.
  7. Either that or the spring is broken, which is a pretty common problem on VAG group cars.

  13. Nonsense, my 1.4 Mark 1 is still on the original system at 21 years old, it lost its outer skin years ago. Unless you just enjoy wasting money then I'd leave well alone.
  14. I didn't pay any attention when I filled up at Tesco yesterday because I'm not worried about it, is it in circulation yet? I'm an engineering professional so I fully understand the difference and I can assure you that it's harmless to our engines.
  15. I have a 2.0 MPI, you have nothing to fear with E10 fuel, our engines will be unaffected by it and we won't be able to tell any difference when driving it. E10 has been widely used in parts of Europe for many years without ill effects.
  16. Don't hang about, change the lock or repair the wiring while you can.
  17. I am in Sussex, it's too far, remove the wheel.
  18. I have tools to take care of this type of problem, can you remove the steering wheel?
  19. Do you mean the screws that hold the plastic shroud together?
  20. They look just like new lifters to me, I've used Topran before and they're OK as well.
  21. http://catalogue.vikadpa.com/
  22. No, I already said it couldn't cause any damage.
