  1. The oil smoke is the valve stem seals allowing oil to be sucked down worn valve guides when cylinder vacuum is high during closed throttle conditions.
  2. There's plenty available, they're crazy money though, you might be able to get yours refurbished.
  3. It looks like the drain plug, the trouble is, to fix it you need to remove it which means draining the gearbox and it might have been overtightened cracking the casing.
  4. I could have told you it wasn't worth doing if you weren't doing it yourself! The labour kills it but £900 is a ridiculous price, an honest garage would charge half that.
  5. It's more likely to be an electrical issue, possibly the injector loom starting to break down.
  6. Just replace the faulty one.
  7. What car, what engine, help us to help you by giving us basic information please.
  8. You might be able to cut the split part off, heat the pipe until soft and push it back over the barb whereupon it will harden and set in place.
  9. Wow, that really won't be helping matters!
  10. Not really, you should look for a car with a trim spec. that matches your needs, I wouldn't worry about the sports models or large alloy wheels if you're looking for comfort. If you want reliable get the 1.4 16V petrol or the 1.6 TDI.
  11. Not much to be done then, we don't have access to dealer equipment, obviously.
  12. Not likely unless you've had it remapped, the standard intake isn't restrictive until higher states of tune anyway. Just admit you did it for the brrrmmmm, brrrmmmm noises like everyone else!
  13. Them too, mainly straight actors though.
  14. Check the vacuum starting at the pump, not the N75 block.
  15. You need to check the entire vacuum system for leaks, not just the actuator line.
  16. All the RHD ones sold out years ago.
  17. No idea because that isn't a DTC.
  18. Lies, modded cars only appeal to boys!
  19. What colour is it? I'm kidding, tell us which engine please.
  20. It seems weird that you want to alter the car stereo and ask us car guys how because your old lead won't fit your new phone.
  21. I meant: https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/MXLY2ZM/A/lightning-to-usb-cable-1m Why can't you just use one of these?
  22. How do you charge the phone if it has no connection port?
  23. I just took the front of the car off to replace the radiator and I'd do the same for the condenser, the entire front of the car comes off in less than an hour making it a really easy job.
  24. You don't need to get all the tools out, the tensioner is spring loaded and taking the belt off and putting it back on is a doddle.
