Bought a 2004 MK1 with no service book, need advice.
Unless you live in a third world country you won't need a fuel filter on a petrol engined car like yours.

Spark plug socket will also be different from the Type 2 as well.

Knock yourself out, you'll need different tools so good luck with it.

Given your level of knowledge and lack of specialist tools I would simply pay a fastfit centre to change the oil and filter and probably the sparkplugs. You can change the air filter yourself but there really isn't much else that needs regular attention.

Fabia vrs blt problems
MAF will appear again, you should check the torsion value as that can cause intermittent CPS faults and that will also affect fuel economy.
-
Fabia vrs blt problems
MAF does affect fuel economy, so changing it will help. Try measuring the real economy figure by filling the tank to the brim then measuring the mileage to the next fill up.

Dogbone/Lower Torque Mount Polybush Fitted
I've always thought this a daft mod on a street car, it's designed for race cars with taller final drive ratios to help make first gear usable for slow corners. Nice guide though.

Advice re selling a 2007 Skoda - to MOT or not?
...on the other hand, secondhand economy cars are fetching crazy money...

Steering angle sensor gone after changing the pump
There isn't anything else to go wrong with the PAS system so a new angle sensor will fix it. It needs this repair to pass an MOT so unless you intend to sell it for spares or repairs you haven't much choice I'm afraid.

Steering angle sensor gone after changing the pump
A faulty angle sensor will usually throw a fault code and put on the PAS light, have you checked the fluid level, it sounds like it may need topping up after the pump change.

Fabia mk2 lumpy idle
Make a special trip, that engine is so economical that you'll only be burning a few gallons to get it done, otherwise you'll just soot it up double quick bumbling about bouncing off the hedgerows locally.

Fabia mk2 lumpy idle
It probably just needs an Italian tune up. Take it for a fast A road or motorway run to clear out the exhaust system.

Window regulator repair kit
Generally when the plastic clip snaps the loose cable snarls up in the motor spool.

Window regulator repair kit
I've used the random ones from ebay with good results, you're perfectly safe choosing the cheapest kit that will fix your problem but be aware that you'll need to lay the regulator on a table or workbench to do the repair. The hardest part is getting the regulator off the door, not the fixing of it and putting it all back together properly is also tricky.

Various MOT problems!
You lot are missing the point, look at the first item in the list, the airbag light is on because the seat belt pre tensioner has been disconnected in order to remove the front seat, the seat belt itself is a red herring.

Engine bay main wiring harness rotten
It's a lot smaller than the main loom!

Timing belt change, won't start.
A bent valve stays sticking out once bent. I find it extremely hard to believe that the timing could be SO far out and not bend at least one.
-
Engine bay main wiring harness rotten
An engine bay loom is all you need, not a complete loom.
-
Timing belt change, won't start.
It doesn't take much force to bend a valve but it might be worth removing the cam lock and allowing the cam to move into an equilibrium between cylinders and trying again to turn the crank into position.

Timing belt change, won't start.
It certainly is a word and very useful for these times we're living through, I anglicise the spelling with an s instead of a z.

Headlight bulbs ??
I drive like a bat out of hell on twisty B roads in the pitch dark using the standard headlights and have only experienced problems when the lenses got cloudy so I stripped them back and polished them and they're like new again. The beam pattern is subject to a standard and all cars have to comply so your argument that the Fabia is somehow different simply doesn't hold water. I don't really care that some people feel it necessary to stick crap all over their cars but they need to accept that the reason they're doing this is for themselves, not because of some imaginary fault with the car.
-
Headlight bulbs ??
Nope, they're 50/55W halogens the same as every other car on the road of that age. Literally EVERY other car. The problem is the elderly owners' eyesight or the desire to make a 20 year old car look like a 10 year old car in the dark.
-
Timing belt change, won't start.
Absolutely, they're basically the same price as the standard bolts anyway.

Power steering fluid change ?
If you're determined to do unnecessary work on your car then the only way to fully empty the system is to disconnect the return pipe from the pump unit and run the pump until nothing more comes out, then reconnect, refill and do the same, topping up as you go until the level ceases to drop. I'm sure the fresh fluid will sparkle like a beautiful emerald in the sun although it won't work any better than the old fluid did. If it ain't broke...

The rods and pistons are massively stronger than the valves, only the valves will be damaged especially since the engine has not run but only spun over on the starter. There's no need to catastrophise, it's bad enough without imagining worse!
