  1. I dont have the econ button etc. Is there a way to do it via vcds?
  2. Hi All The passenger side windscreen air vent is not blowing air. I think its maybe not blowing to the edge of the door to clear the door window either. The fans working and the drivers side is OK so seems like maybe the vent pipe has come loose or is blocked somehow. Any ideas? Dave
  3. I normally get 20 litre drums of Fuchs, Castrol or 5 litres of Quantum. The links for Mannol are a good price. I have never used it. Is Mannol any good?
  4. Any water contamination in the engine oil? Any coolant in the bottom engine tray or around the bottom of the radiator?
  5. Thanks folks. Much appreciated. Dave
  6. Hi All My uncle is looking to purchase a 2016 2.0 CR Yeti 4x4 L&K. Its got around 20,000 miles on it. I know very little about them as an Ocravia owner so thought maybe some of you could advise. He had heard there are issues with the doors rusting lfrom the inside and panoramic roofs leaked. Can anyone advise on this ? I assume its the Gen 5 Haldex on it? Any other issues to look out for? Thanks in advance Dave
  7. It's a manual gearbox. Must be at least 5 or 6 years and around 50,000 miles since belt was last changed.
  8. Hi All The VRS is about to reach 100,000 miles. Its had a timing belt and water pump change but it was a while ago at 50,000 miles. I can't remember much about the kit used at the time, I think it was maybe a Gates belt. What is the current recommended timing belt / tensioner kit? Is the water pump better with a plastic or metal impellor? (I think the last one was metal). Recommendations? When it heats up now, the last bit of getting to temperature on the gauge takes ages. I wondered if the thermostat was a bit sticky so was going to get it changed at the same time as it's never been done. How easy is it to do this? Cheers Dave
  9. Some photos / how to of the procedure would be very helpful. I will need to do mine too as EML keeps coming up for manifold fault.
  10. Get the dpf checked to see how full it is. You can take it off and get it cleaned or some garages can clean it on the car. Sounds like it's thinking it needs a regen all the time.
  11. Mine has come up with the error again. Car runs fine but EML is on. I will try clearing it again but may need to try putting the bracket on it and maybe replace the manifold if required. Is there a good how to for taking the plastic manifold off and refitting? Cheers Dave
  12. Had a quick look and found this...... https://xtrons.co.uk/vw-skoda-seat-various-android-10-octa-core-4gb-ram-64gb-rom-ib90mtvl Anyone fitted one? Any issues and is it easy to fit? Any better options?
  13. I saw a post somewhere and they used a Bahco slim ratchet set to get into the bolts without taking the manifold off.
  14. Just replaced mine. It was very tight. A wee bit wood on the top and a gentle tap with a hammer and it popped right on.
  15. The brackets are a tenner or less. I think you can get into the motor bolts with a Bahco mini/slim socket set. There was a forum post or YouTube video. Get a set of small locking forceps to grip the return spring so you don't drop it.
  16. There are 2 different brackets. If its for the plastic manifold, the bracket fits on the rear so you need to struggle to get the bolts out/in or take the manifold off. It's a plastic manifold on my 2010 VRS diesel. I had the same error but luckily it cleared when I changed the battery. Seems to have been a spurious failing battery fault.
  17. I decided to check the plug on the motor (unplugged it and plugged it back in. Looked clean, no corrosion etc) and give the car a run to charge the battery. Cruised it up the motorway and as I came off the motorway to turn round to come back it was doing a regen. Cruised it home and completed the regen (back to normal tickover). I then cleared all codes with VCDS and this time it cleared the P2015 error. It wouldn't clear before. Hopefully it won't come back. I have the bracket for the motor now so will keep it until I need it. If it was just the battery causing issues, I will test it with a load tester and monitor it. The battery is a few years old and may be nearing replacement. Thanks for the responses. Dave
  18. I am hoping to attempt the job possibly over the weekend but if I have to take the whole manifold off, are there any instructions or how to videos available? I have searched but can't seem to find anything. Is it a straight forward procedure to remove and refit? Cheers Dave
  19. Just found this. Looks like it is doable but a PITA. Oh joy.
  20. I have been looking into possible fixes for the P2015 error. It seems you can get a small metal bracket that screws on and prevents the motor from over-reaching when it returns from opening the manifold flaps. I have ordered one of the brackets for the 2.0 CR engine. This looked like a quick and inexpensive fix to try first. I took the engine cover off this evening to have a look at the motor for removing it. Every picture and video I have seen shows the 3 screws put in from the front of the vehicle. On our VRS they are in from the rear giving no access to remove them. How do I remove that motor? Cheers Dave
  21. It has been sitting for a while, not getting used much. Will check and charge the battery. It starts and ticks over fine.
  22. What happens if I drive the car? Will it makes things worse, die a horrible death and leave me stranded ?
  23. Hi All 2010 VRS CR170 The engine management light has come on and vcds gives the information below.
