  1. So, having got the wifi to work, I noticed that I never seemed to get a signal when parked up. Purely by accident, I discovered that when I switch the ignition off, the wifi switches off after a short period so to use it when parked I have to have the ignition on Can anyone tell me if this is normal and if there is a setting to allow it to work with the ignition off please? TIA
  2. Thinking about it, you’re right. I was going by what I was advised some time ago. Every day is a learning day.
  3. That is the same with the piggy back type. The only difference is that the fuse on the piggy back for the accessory is directly on the fuse board. The flying lead type needs an inline fuse as close to the fuse board as possible.
  4. That was first thought too, but can’t work out the E
  5. Revisiting this, I came across these... https://www.halfords.com/tools/fuses-electricals-and-fixings/fuses/halfords-blade-fuse-plus-breakout-wire-15-amp-hfs294-704953.html?istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istFeedId=367c5610-f937-4c81-8609-f84582324cd6&istItemId=rwxatlwq&istBid=t&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:865695754|agid:43902127335|tid:pla-403443993023|crid:203186037801|nw:g|rnd:1257354947433158536|dvc:c|adp:|mt:|loc:1006786&gclid=CjwKCAiAlNf-BRB_EiwA2osbxYs2PxRnP7EZU75eOozXSpk1j-F0PqLILsC2_reg910WITcdL3xeQhoCD9kQAvD_BwE I’ve not been brave enough to remove the glove box yet, but would one of those work, or would the fuse box cover not close over it?
  6. It’s a bit too cold outside for that!
  7. Right, so I have just been out with the fob in the pouch. No response from the car when pressing any of the buttons on the fob so I know the pouch works as it did when I first bought it. The tailgate does indeed open from about 5 meters away but will not close unless I’m much closer ? As for the dog, she’s a toy Manchester terrier and couldn’t see out of the window even if stood on her hind legs!
  8. Maybe they reduced the distance for some reason, on later cars? This from the latest manual The key was in the pouch, hanging on a hook 4 feet from the ground all night, so even the dog couldn’t have pressed the button by mistake. She can’t drive anyway. We do live about 10 miles from Luton but nowhere near the flight paths. A disturbing thought though.
  9. What year model is yours? Mine was built this year
  10. Well I went out to the car this morning to find the electric tailgate fully open!! I am 100% certain I did not cause it with any keys. I got home at 4pm, locked the car as normal. Indoors, I put the key in the faraday pouch, the spare is also in one in a drawer. SWMBO got home at 6 and it was closed then. It can’t be either of the keys for two reasons: Both were in faraday pouches that work, I have tested them. The tailgate will only open with the keyfob if it is within 2 meters of the tailgate sensor, also tested. I have to be standing by the B pillar at the furthest for it to work. I know the Yeti used to unlock itself every now and then, but at least it wasn’t noticeable. Luckily we live in a quiet close. Does anyone have a constructive answer as to why? How many other people have the same problem?
  11. Don’t matter, it’s still fooked!
  12. If you go with the Karoq, you might be disappointed with the size of the boot if you are used to the cavern that is the Octy. The Kodiaq boot is about the same size with the 3rd row of seats down, deeper vertically too.

thanks Johnboy, very interesting 🧐 I have to say, I reckon the screen does seem to keep a lot of the heat out. The car had been in full sun all day and it was nowhere near as hot inside as the Yeti in similar circumstances.

I’m glad I found this. My previous Yetis all had heated screens and you could see the element. I noticed that the Kodiaq doesn’t have any visible elements so was a bit concerned that it had not been fitted as ordered. Can anyone give me a quick explanation how the wireless screens work please. TiA
  15. Finally collected (long story) a emerald green 1.5Tsi DSG with heated screen and ACC as options. A great improvement on the Yeti it replaced, but changing from 20 years of diesel ownership to petrol is going to take some getting used to. I’m missing the mid range torque!
  16. @Scot5 did you solve your sim issue? if not, you can get a Sim adapter from Amazon. Search for Helect SIM card adapter. £3.50 I got one today and it does all sizes of SIM.
  17. Er, that’s not going to work. The OP needs to activate a SIM card. @Scot5 I think a dab or 3 of superglue might be an option, assuming they SIMs are still multi size?
  18. Happy update, I finally collected my shiny new toy on Monday, exactly 14 months and 2 days from date of order. I appreciate Covid played its part though. Theres so many gizmos and gadgets to fiddle with. 😀 One thing I did notice, which is a bonus, I appear to have front parking sensors. They were an option when I placed the order, so I didn’t spec them, so I’m happy.
  19. I had kind of accepted that the first would not arrive in the quoted 12 weeks because none of my previous orders have. Due to my needs, I had done extensive research before choosing the car and it was the one that melted my needs best. When it arrived and it was wrong, I would have been in the same position going to order from a different manufacturer and then having to live with a less than ideal car, so decided to continue. Then Covid hit! Bugger all anyone could do about that, so I just forgot about it for a while. Can’t wait to finally drive it off the forecourt now.
  20. Well I should be collecting the car this Saturday. I’ve had to wait till the adaptations company returned to work, which they have now done. @shyVRS245 it’s going to have my plate on it too. 😁
  21. 😂 Hopefully I can put my plate on it from day 1.
  22. Woohoo! I got a call from the dealer this afternoon. My car has arrived, finally. Including delivery of the wrong car and Covid, it has been 13 months. A bit longer than the original 12 week estimate. Let’s hope it has been worth the wait.
