I updated to iOS 18 last night (iPhone 15) and it works fine on my 17 plate. You had the cable long? I do find CarPlay (or its integration with the car) flakey. Mine drops out sometimes and occasionally comes up with a message suggesting the device isn’t compatible. Odd, given that it was 30 seconds ago 😂

I have changed to LEDs for the indicators. Never had concerns over dazzling. Certainly no more of an issue than everyone sitting with their foot on the brake in traffic.

I’d say it depends on the cars spec. DSG and/or DCC yes there will be a difference. A manual without DCC, total gimmick. Just modulate your right foot.

The facelift LED units utilise both LED strip for indicator and DRL. You are correct for the pre-facelift however 👍

Ah ok, so it’s the DRL that turns off. Not the headlight. The Mk3 Octavia is the same. The indicator is the same LED strip as the DRL.

I’m gonna just ask it, why bother with this effort? Put your CD collection on an SD card or USB drive. Cost is negligible and no changing CDs all the time. “…as where will it sit.” - on the shelf in a charity shop, where it belongs.

Pre-facelift won’t fit or indeed work. The facelift uses LEDs but the pre-facelift uses filament bulbs.
