  1. 2017 vRS TSI here. 60k miles and on the original battery. Stop start always disabled on startup. Original discs and pads as well if you’re interested 🤷🏻‍♂️ (will be next years task).
  2. They won’t open source it and I doubt there is much demand for a near dead technology either.
  3. Still sounding like a faulty sensor to me. VCDS should be able to check for this fault and it is also used to make changes as well. It’s not a Skoda tool. Google for more information. OBDeleven is another similar option.
  4. What happens when you turn the lights to off, the “0” position? Do the DRLs work then? My thinking here is faulty light sensor and so the headlights are being turned on all the time incorrectly.
  5. Keep in mind that the best thing to prevent kerb damage is just to not drive into them in the first place.
  6. I think they look quite smart.
  7. Yeah. The bad earth look isn’t great. Avoid.
  8. Probably. But a flashing white light isn’t an indicator. You won’t be able to change the colour of the flash either.
  9. Source the part and fit it yourself. It’s a 2 minute job.
  10. Not sure if count the dealer wash/vac with a gritty sponge and dirty water a ‘plus’ point but hey ho. Different strokes for different folks 🤷🏻‍♂️
  11. I have the below fitted in my Mk3 Octavia and I coded them in correctly. I also have the same type (not fitment) in my rear indicators. Again coded correctly. Fitted since 2020 and 2018. All still working. None throw errors. All pass MOT. Yes they are a tad more expensive that the Alibaba crap but, they work as expected and required. You get what you pay for 🤷🏻‍♂️ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225553484602?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338749392&toolid=20006&customid=GB_131090_v1|225553484602|0.152353793910~1871854537436-g_CjwKCAjw8symBhAqEiwAaTA__N1IbhfVmXKfL6etxEjspyEFfPl-EgiztRUJuQMeyRXAynfHTFnp4xoCgwkQAvD_BwE&gbraid=0AAAAADihhqUkvqIfXuZD6TGCuZA1ObDS7&gclid=CjwKCAjw8symBhAqEiwAaTA__N1IbhfVmXKfL6etxEjspyEFfPl-EgiztRUJuQMeyRXAynfHTFnp4xoCgwkQAvD_BwE
  12. Parking by the sea, kerbing and auto car washes. It’s almost like you’re intentionally trying to destroy them. Seriously though, diamond cut wheels are, as said, not great for longevity. And the three points mentioned above really won’t help that.
  13. I’ve just had a look at the LEZ for Edinburgh. How often will you be going into it? It doesn’t really cover a large area. Worth replacing a car for?
  14. No idea if it can be repaired. WRT a replacement, there is no additional issue just because it’s heated.
  15. Be interesting to see the outcome of this. WRT the overtake itself. Meh, not sure I have enough info to decide if I’d have done the same. Had you already been sat behind those two, through multiple other NSL sections and the Ferrari driver hadn’t taken any opportunity to pass, then I’d have done exactly the same (assuming that section is safe to complete a double pass, I have no local knowledge of it). On the other hand, if this was the first ever opportunity to pass, I’d probably not have bothered. For me, I need some kind of confirmation from the car in front that it’s not going to take an opportunity, should it present itself.
  16. I’d be looking in scrap/breakers yards for that.
  17. Nice. The wheels look great in that bright silver against the blue 👍🏻
  18. Some real hyperbole stuff in here. @ELSUSSETTER indeed the dealer is unlikely to do this for you. But getting the change done is quick and simple. You just need to find someone with VCDS or OBDeleven and ask them to change the function of the rear lights to DRL. In exchange for a few beers or something. WRT the car not being “designed” to do it. Well; not really correct. The function is already written into the vehicle. It just happens not to be active for this market. Which is entirely different to not being designed to do it. You can only change what the car can already do. Not create new functions that don’t exist.
  19. Is this a known problem? This is the first I recall seeing it posted on here?
  20. I honestly can’t understand the point in the synchronous adjust feature. Just can’t think of a scenario where it would be useful at all.
  21. Sorry, no help for your actual question. I have one of my own though. How much were you quoted for your refurb to OEM look?
  22. The change was made in 2017 sometime. My July 17 facelift retains the selected driving mode. I think it was due to emissions or something like that.
  23. How did you need all that other work done already? Or were they upgrades?
  24. “Correctly” is surely the key word here. Skoda are not going to be interested if someone goes splicing and dicing wires for additional lighting which then causes an electrical issue. Why would that be their issue to sort?
