  1. @Rootedand @J.R.I've heard from Boss Fox and here's the definitive word on the YET1 plate and the YetivRS; "<Facebook tag removed> Hi Lee, the YET1 plate is on my Mum's 2017 Skoda Yeti and the VRS project is currently in bits part way through a rebuild after en engine fire, but with racing it's probably not cost effective to finish it as I only do 2 track days per year now." Damned shame IMO but maybe one day it'll get rebuilt. So his family has had at least three Yeti's. His and his wife's 2012 red ones and his mum's 2017 grey one.
  2. John he got into racing Nissan Primera's (plural) a few years ago now amongst other things. No idea if he sold it on or not but I think last I heard from him the Yeti was a keeper.
  3. Now I'm confused 🤔 This is from 2021. The Yeti he modded. No idea when this is from. Same Yeti as above so maybe he shifts the plate from time to time, got another Yeti in Grey or sold the plate on🤷 I forgot he modded a Roomster as well.
  4. The original two red ones were his and his wife's. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/226003-the-twins-and-yeti-rs/ CityGoGo build thread https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/243854-citigo-go-a-citigo-with-more-go/page/52/
  5. I honestly can't remember now he had so many cars and modded many of them. The Yeti that was red turned race blue with CF doors and bonnet and a 2.5 TFSi from an Audi. Once a bit over 500Bhp then plans to make it around 700. I went on the track as a passenger when it was 500Bhp and that was quick enough. Then there was his CitiGo 4X4 conversion project which was sold for someone else ( Jabba or Darkside) to finish. Then he decided to buy all the Nissan Skylines.
  6. @Rooted OK, it's still showing as a diesel. Who had that one - was it Boss Fox Richard?
  7. @Rooted still a diesel. Just over 46K miles now. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/results?registration=yet1&checkRecalls=true
  8. Only if it's a permanent change IIRC. Not needed if being wrapped for e.g.
  9. Hundreds, possibly thousands of cars are kept in storage and never taxed or MoT'd but they'll pop up in TV shows or films. There's prop companies that own them and make a tidy sum renting out period correct vehicles (and other more mundane items) for TV and film production companies. My mum used to work for a TV and director - I forget his name, Trevor something I think, but he made some of the early Herbal Essences shampoo ads (he specialised in water/ underwater filming) and he had a few himself in his barn. One was a mint Citröen DS convertible. Another was an 80s Jeep Wrangler.
  10. Interesting power lines on one of the Autobahns we were on the other week. My initial thought was they were for trolley busses but after a look online it's a test bed for powering electric trucks. This wasn't near Frankfurt but there's more here with a video. https://www.dw.com/en/germany-tests-first-ehighway-autobahn/a-48632817
  11. Oh I fully agree. And the worst offenders of ****e journalism in the UK are the Telegraph, The Express, The Daily Mail and The Sun and, to a lesser degree the Times. All owned by non doms who pay either very little or zero tax in the UK. Nobody should be paying any attention to what they or their hacks have to say or opine on. They only spout whatever agenda the owners pay them to spout.
  12. A whole thread on EVs. And the subject is the anti EV Telegraph's equally anti EV gob****e Allison Pearson who, AFAIK, has absolutely no experience in motoring journalism or, IMO, reality. More browser friendly unroll here https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1714641544970723838.html
  13. Some screen caps trying out my new lens - Samyang 135mm f2 - 22. on a Canon Eos 250D. All at 30 seconds. Various ISO. Using a Skywatcher Star Adventurer GTI tracking mount and a dew heater on the camera lens. Vega baby! With Bahtinov mask on And without Tail end of our galaxy the Milky Way Milky Way with a (very) quick touch up in Windows native app Andromeda galaxy and another behind it. And Pleiades (damned power lines)
  14. Looking to update the maps on my Sat Nav. Trouble is I'm not even sure what model it is so if anyone can give me some pointers it'd be much appreciated. There is only one SD card slot on the left next to 'Media' button and a slot for CDs. Pics below with software version etc. EDIT. Been looking on Google and I think I have an RNS315 Amundsen+. Would this the the correct SD card to update the maps? https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/vw-seat-skoda-rns315-sat-nav-sd-card-update-navigation-map-2020-586-p.asp
  15. I think we need to explore the possibility that the Range Rover was equipped with an experimental warp core and what happened was a small warp core breach. It's certainly looks like it opened a rift into a parallel universe for some people.
  16. Norway, January 2020. Norway has a very high uptake of EVe so this one *must* be due to an EV surely 🤔 "The vehicle garage in question has capacity for 3,000 cars and was nearly full when the fire started, according to broadcaster NRK. The cause is unknown and under investigation, but local police said they were notified at about 3:30 p.m. that an electric car was on fire in the parking garage." But wait "Local media reports later said the fire started in an Opel Zafira with an internal combustion engine." https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/hundreds-cars-destroyed-fire-norway-airport I fear the only one who'll be eating humble pie is you, Graham. Whether or not you will take a slice yourself remains to be seen but, given the law of averages, is it (a) more likely than not the reports of the RR was a diesel are correct or (b) your theory that the RR was an EV that nobody informed the DVLA of? I think you know the answer. I mean for Chrissakes even the Daily Mail/ Mail Online reported it as a diesel RR and they have a very obvious anti EV bias.
  17. Maybe the Opel Zafira had been converted to EV and nobody told the Irish motor vehicle authorities 🤔 https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-30959872.html
  18. How do we know they hadn't been converted to EV and the Swedish motor authorities hadn't been informed? IT COULD HAPPEN! 🤔🤪🤣
  19. Christallduckingmighty🤦 Nobody's denying that cars can be converted to EV ffs. Just that it's been reported as a diesel, Beds Fire Service said it was a diesel, there's been links about JLR RRs problems with fires but nooooooo that's not good enough for Graham is it? Seriously, get a grip rather than clutching at straws in whatever desperate point it is you're trying to make.
  20. People have been reading what you've posted including your utterly ridiculous 'BUT WHAT IF IT HAD BEEN CONVERTED TO EV aNd NoBoDy ToLd ThE dVlA' guff 🤪
