  1. bearing tends to be wheel speed dependent rather than engine speed though, resonating louder at particular speed multiples. it could be just something stuck behind a brake cover, or it could something deeper.
  2. first cycle of July... legs felt dead this morning after a not great nights sleep, missed yesterday aswell, so fingers crossed ill get out tomorrow morning to make up for it, then get the shopping done and go pick up something nice for myself my June stats popped up. god that week i missed made a difference! im nearly at this exercising craic a full year... i will celebrate the anniversary by running my original 5k route
  3. half way through reading the post i was reckoning washer pump. same as mk1s....
  4. pick up is arranged for 2pm on Saturday at nigh on the other end of the country. i will photgraph the new arrival prior to transport home so, about 1415-1430hrs Saturday you will see what ive gone and done.
  5. that would ruin the surprise
  6. that sounds filthy..... when exactly does it happen as you pull away? is it worse if you pull away uphill? does it happen if pulling away downhill only on the idle?
  7. sounds like a split pipe alright losing boost
  8. deal done on a bike. its a surprise until i can pick it up on Saturday. 5hr round trip drive to get it, but..... im excited
  9. might be sorted... will update later
  10. that will have been the B ) you put on have you tried connecting another phone to the BT? and the phone to another BT? just in case theres a general issue with either? can happen. @Rustynuts is very good with the HUnits, so probably has some advice too
  11. i pretty much have that done in my head no particular order - sentier vr roscoe 7 stoic 3 all in or around the same spec and money, just need something to pop up as actually purchasable which seems to be a challenge. size medium.... even most of the second handers (very few...) are all large or XL, which are too big for my little 5ft7" in shoes body..
  12. yeah, i was lookin at the vr spec, and a couple of other listings on wiggle. everything seems a lower spec than the vr 🤔
  13. nephew was pulled out of the 630am start by swmbo.. to be fair he hasnt been up before 9 and not sleeping properly for a couple of months, so maybe going straight into a 8k run at 630am may have been a bit of a push he has promised to go for a run himself later on after doing some work on the project. so i went pedalling my typical route, but twisted a through the trees section to boost myself an extra climb and a bit more distance. the extra climb knocked the avg speed back but an extra km and 50m climbing. it all felt good
  14. perhaps you were aiming ( with your eyes closed) for that bit where the kerb is missing/at footpath level? and missed it..
  15. well, the one for sale was a large, so a bit big. how accurate do we think Wiggle might be with stock expectation?? https://www.wiggle.co.uk/vitus-sentier-27-mountain-bike-2021 brand new is up as €1061, for the entry level sentier 27.
  16. change in offing for tomorrow morning... swmbo's nephew is struggling to write his FYP for uni, lotta stuff goin on atm, so he has been convinced to come down to Nanny's house and do some work 9n it with swmbo helping him put a shape on the structure. he has also agreed to get up and come with me for an early morning blast. no bike, so we're gonna run instead. giving him the choice of hill climb or flat in the morning.
  17. another morning, andother 16.5k cycle on my normal route. sheeps up the top happy with today, little faster than last week in total, but i think i made the time up on the decents rather than the climbs, though,
  18. well the broken roscoe is now marked sold. not to me though
  19. where does this build rate.... one for sale at an alright price... https://vitusbikes.com/products/vitus-sentier-27-vr-mountain-bike
  20. @olduns be worth an xray to be on the safe side if it feels worse than soft tissue damage.. or possibly an mri.... good to know the group look after you properly too!
  21. i know the feeling youre talking about. ive had it while driving, that feeling that you just know something is going to happen, and then you nearly get killed by some kittens. edit - @ColinD love the autocorrect for the word richard head
  22. 2 days in a row, same route and the exact same avg speed and only a few seconds in the time
  23. see, if i could get it at that price, it would definitely be worth it... and would leave lots for replacing the fork with a really decent one (assuming i could get one, a fox for example...). but i dont know if id get it that low...
  24. yeah, i was reading up a little bit on the lockout failures last night, and people say sometimes it mightnt be actually be a failure as the lockout only acts to stiffen the damping to the max, so there is still some give in it. its possible this might be one of those? equally i could probably cope without the lockout for a while anyway? i just dont really know if i want to drop a wad of cash on something i know is broken...
