  1. have you tried changing the fan speed for the cabin blower, or do you have aircon?
  2. this.... seems like something that needs expanding on......
  3. i seem to recall smooth peanut butter being highly recommended in the detailing section a few yrs ago..
  4. there was some swearing this morning..... a lot of swearing. 2.k into my run, and i feel a twinge in my left knee again. 2.2k and i had to walk. 2.5k i squatted on the sand and stretched/twisted the knee in all sorts of directions. it loosened, abit. i restarted for home, but realised the pain started while on the (good hard sand) shoreline with my left leg higher up the slope to sea, so i went up onto the dunes and found a flatter trail to follow back, and moving with a shortened/softer stride was able to make it back without it being painful. utterly sickened. surrounded by this - i didnt even have my headphones on, just trotting along to sound of dawn waves breaking, was feeling really comfortable, reckoned id make a decent go of the length of the strand, instead blown out and ****ed off by a knee that doesnt seem to like cambered ground, at least in my current trainers from christmas - it was only after i changed to them this started :( so i yhink its going be an internal trawl to find the worlds remaining supply of my previous iteration asics patriots, and see if that makes a difference.... dont get wrong, ive clearly enjoyed the change iver to pedal power too - new decent bike has been purchased for it, but... sometimes i want to run... (never thought id say that) but this knee thing is a constant fear. id hoped the break would let it heal and come good so i could then alternate my approach and be able to do something when on holidays, but today says otherwise :(
  5. well i think i got 1hr of sleep last night.. i woke on repeat all night, too hot, uncomfortable, just not nice. i turned off the alarm an hour before it shouldve been going off to go jogging. as for right now... the DOMS have struck after yesterdays adventure since 8am 🤦‍♂️ everything south of my abs are sore!
  6. so.. i got up on time, despite the terrible sleep. and went out. running... first time since January, i got a 6.5km route knocked out in 35mins. pretty happy with that, more happy with the lack of knee pain! so at least i know i should be okay this week by the beach.
  7. i got up today, and did a 16k route in just over an hour. probably couldve done it sub 1 hr if i hadnt had to carry the bike through a load of felled timber on the trail 🤦‍♂️ anywho, it was a grand trek out on a grand morning. bit of misty fog hangin on the hills had the temps down a bit. it was grand. nothing blistering but i was happy to get out. now... im taking tomorrow off, may go for a 5k run Monday instead, as the window people are coming at 8am, so i need to be here and prepped. we bug out later in the morning to the coast. so the run would be a breaker in for doing that all week while at the beach. plan
  8. pronounced Kweel-cha they own and operate the bulk of forestry services in Ireland. the Clonmel MTB Club are one of only 4 irish clubs who have permission from Coillte to use the forestry for off track trails
  9. i was out myself for the usual route. decided to chance going the "eagle segment" route over the hill and through rooty stumpland when in the trees. discovered the coillte crew also cleared a load of timber in the middle of that section too, so had to dismount and carry the bike out through a load of felling waste to get out on the main path again. pic of what eagle looks like though... thats a not bad bit... ill take more pics next time im on it
  10. excellent news @olduns delighted you got out without any major issues
  11. i stayed in bed... i think i got 3hrs of broken sleep, felt really fuzzy this morning, between the post vaccine "feels like the day after a hangover" and just being wrecked i couldnt make myself get up. praying for a better night's sleep so i can kick tomorrow off with a spin out...
  12. same as my feeling on it, my concern is more so where the heck is it getting in, as that whats like to try abd sort if it was mine. i had the same problem of water retention in the trim and in the wheel well in my mk1 hatch but it was from the washer motor leaking and the pipe joint under the carpet popping at different times.
  13. ohhh... today was odd. another sgit night's sleep in the heat, not able to lie on my left hand side like usual after getting my 5G activation shot yesterday morning (Pfizer round 2 - i shall soon be legally allowed to dine inside a restaurant ) so i woke up tired and could feel the horrible flash sweat building - the one that kicks in when you want to go back asleep but your body isnt sure its a good idea - so i dragged myself out feeling dehydrated and bit meh. hit the pedals and headed off. no records were set, i also realised i wont hit the July climbing challenge target as we are away next week 🤦‍♂️ so i took a fire break trail detour this morning - the one i came off on twice on the old bike - and then back up the other side. it netted me a 16k trip in just over the hour. including about a minute when i unexpectedly crossed the remaining stripped branches of a path/firebreak being cleared by the forestry owners through the middle of the block, and the derailleur got caught up in some spruce branches. that took a bit wriggling to get out of. overall it was an alright morning out, and considering how many others i know were fairly wrecked the day after their shots i was just pkeased to get out. not sure how i managed such a high top speed! fingers crossed tomorrow morning will be similar....
  14. check the doors for any sign of heavy wear in the cable routes and water getting in anywhere. easy enough fixes, but still, be aware enough to look for it
  15. 90k is only around 15k per year for 6 yrs. thats not bad at all. as said , the service history is the main thing, and what engine does it have.
  16. sitting in the garden afain. no fog today. whuch is a shame, it was lovely and cooling g yesterday morning. holy god the heat is cruel even this early. not as quick today either, could feel it in the legs at the start of the day, but who cares i got out and got out done. think the sheep are getting used to me arriving of a morning now too, they aren scattering as quickly when the bright orange sweaty mess arrives on top of their hill
  17. im just sitting in the foggy back garden after my cycle. too hot to go inside. i just realised today is the 19th. its my one year anniversary!!!! i was meant to go for a 5k anniversary run. ooops. instead i did my 16.5k cycle. view from the top of hill, waypoint 1 time to waypoint 1 - a new record setting blast that, despite the heat gave me enough of a kick to try and keep the momentum going, and... BOOM!!! sub one hr time on route. I'll take that as an anniversary present to myself
  18. so on tuesday i did a chopped route in an hour. yseterday i was on mt full 16.5k route, and it felt good on the way up the hill. the above was a new personal best on the full route and the initial hill section was quite happy, and looking forward to today. today, i woke up at 610 with the alarm. then got up after a power nap at 646! stood in the kitchen considering binning it as i was late, but swmbo wasnt going anywhere, spud sr didnt have camp, i had a teams thing at 915, so.... feck it i can be a bit later home. sooooo close to a sub one hour... and forgot to screenshot the initial phase - 30m 16sec... all round winner day
  19. yeah, id been looking at getting a Roscoe 7, but the utter lack of any stock anywhere was wearing me down. bought a 2nd hand Vitus Sentier 27 VR instead 2 weeks ago as i couldnt stay on the 30yr old rigid any more. god love it was going getting me killed. really happy with the VR, needed a little bit of adjusting to dial it in just right for me, and i think i have it now. its performing brilliantly on my morning routes. hopefully when the younger son is a bit older ill be able to get the occasional day trip to do some longer proper trails
  20. @JohnMcL7 is that a Roscoe or a Marlin MTB?
  21. mmmm okay. im gonna ask @Rustynuts to have a gander at this, hes good with the head units
  22. whats your headunit type? RN510 or whatever.
  23. check what bluetooth module you have. it may not have streaaming ability. or your phone isnt detecting the headunit as an output device.
  24. could also be a coil pack. they have a habit of dying too. get ut plugged in and scan for errors, if none then try and do some logging as it may only show on the move. if fuel consumption is gone up too, then its possibly/probably an airflow issue - its losing (or thinks irs getting more- maf) air somewhere and over fuelling
  25. ah okay... if its weather related its getting in from outside into the frame. check around the hinges and cable bellows from the car into the hatch. its probably getting in up there.
