water leak in the boot plastic trim
same as my feeling on it, my concern is more so where the heck is it getting in, as that whats like to try abd sort if it was mine. i had the same problem of water retention in the trim and in the wheel well in my mk1 hatch but it was from the washer motor leaking and the pipe joint under the carpet popping at different times.

ohhh... today was odd. another sgit night's sleep in the heat, not able to lie on my left hand side like usual after getting my 5G activation shot yesterday morning (Pfizer round 2 - i shall soon be legally allowed to dine inside a restaurant ) so i woke up tired and could feel the horrible flash sweat building - the one that kicks in when you want to go back asleep but your body isnt sure its a good idea - so i dragged myself out feeling dehydrated and bit meh. hit the pedals and headed off. no records were set, i also realised i wont hit the July climbing challenge target as we are away next week π€¦ββοΈ so i took a fire break trail detour this morning - the one i came off on twice on the old bike - and then back up the other side. it netted me a 16k trip in just over the hour. including about a minute when i unexpectedly crossed the remaining stripped branches of a path/firebreak being cleared by the forestry owners through the middle of the block, and the derailleur got caught up in some spruce branches. that took a bit wriggling to get out of. overall it was an alright morning out, and considering how many others i know were fairly wrecked the day after their shots i was just pkeased to get out. not sure how i managed such a high top speed! fingers crossed tomorrow morning will be similar....

New Octy is coming
check the doors for any sign of heavy wear in the cable routes and water getting in anywhere. easy enough fixes, but still, be aware enough to look for it

New Skoda, letβs talk mileage!
90k is only around 15k per year for 6 yrs. thats not bad at all. as said , the service history is the main thing, and what engine does it have.

im just sitting in the foggy back garden after my cycle. too hot to go inside. i just realised today is the 19th. its my one year anniversary!!!! i was meant to go for a 5k anniversary run. ooops. instead i did my 16.5k cycle. view from the top of hill, waypoint 1 time to waypoint 1 - a new record setting blast that, despite the heat gave me enough of a kick to try and keep the momentum going, and... BOOM!!! sub one hr time on route. I'll take that as an anniversary present to myself

so on tuesday i did a chopped route in an hour. yseterday i was on mt full 16.5k route, and it felt good on the way up the hill. the above was a new personal best on the full route and the initial hill section was quite happy, and looking forward to today. today, i woke up at 610 with the alarm. then got up after a power nap at 646! stood in the kitchen considering binning it as i was late, but swmbo wasnt going anywhere, spud sr didnt have camp, i had a teams thing at 915, so.... feck it i can be a bit later home. sooooo close to a sub one hour... and forgot to screenshot the initial phase - 30m 16sec... all round winner day

Briski cyclists?!
yeah, id been looking at getting a Roscoe 7, but the utter lack of any stock anywhere was wearing me down. bought a 2nd hand Vitus Sentier 27 VR instead 2 weeks ago as i couldnt stay on the 30yr old rigid any more. god love it was going getting me killed. really happy with the VR, needed a little bit of adjusting to dial it in just right for me, and i think i have it now. its performing brilliantly on my morning routes. hopefully when the younger son is a bit older ill be able to get the occasional day trip to do some longer proper trails

Bluetooth music streaming.
mmmm okay. im gonna ask @Rustynuts to have a gander at this, hes good with the head units
-
Bluetooth music streaming.
whats your headunit type? RN510 or whatever.
-
Bluetooth music streaming.
check what bluetooth module you have. it may not have streaaming ability. or your phone isnt detecting the headunit as an output device.

Loss of power midrange
could also be a coil pack. they have a habit of dying too. get ut plugged in and scan for errors, if none then try and do some logging as it may only show on the move. if fuel consumption is gone up too, then its possibly/probably an airflow issue - its losing (or thinks irs getting more- maf) air somewhere and over fuelling

water leak in the boot plastic trim
ah okay... if its weather related its getting in from outside into the frame. check around the hinges and cable bellows from the car into the hatch. its probably getting in up there.

well a ****e night sleep where i just felt uncomfortable all night... and the alarm really didnt enthuse me to get up, but i did.. and i did well, i think. made it to the top of the hill in, i believe, a personal best inc PRs on the segment times for the hill climb so my full 16.5km route done in under 1hr 3mins. time spent on the derailleur adjustment was well worth it... probably have all my flat speed back, going by top speed on the road descent so happy days. sweating was cruel though...

How do you take the inside panel off rear door
okay the clear polythene was the liner... you need to completely remove all of it, and get a replacement. @DeanVRS20VT has the part no for the foam liners i think, they have better sound insulation than the ordinary polythene. if you cant get the foam ones, a piece of 1500gauge plastic sheeting (the type builders put down under concrete) works. i used pvc pipe jointing compound to stick my plastic sheet replacement on, it needs to be fully sealed all the way round or water, being the demon it is, will find a gap and get through.

How do you take the inside panel off rear door
@Jimty is there a liner covering the door frame under the door card? or can you reach straight in to the window regulator bits? if the liner is missing thats your problem. if the liner is there but damaged, thats your problem.
-
What Is Missing ??
the slots may be there for other bits, but might not be part of the kit issued with the car, depending on model and spec, i would imagine the tray is fairly standard across the range.

ok, so... given i was at work last night and got... 90mins sleep when i got home before the day started, i was not out for a cycle this morning. i did however discover that my lovely "new" bike is actually a 1x12 speed sram sx fitted bike. saw it on the receipt for original purchase. was pretty sure it was an 11 speed on the ad and when i talked to the guy but when i went and counted the chain rings... yup, theres 12 of the back there!
