DPF issue
Okay, should be long enough, but the rpm may be too low. the DPF system needs a sustained run over 40mph and rpm between 2000 - 2500rpm. In my mk2 that means sitting about 55-60mph in 4th gear (5speed manual, your gearing may vary), and for about 15-20mins to complete the regen process

DPF issue
That means the dpf isn’t getting to regen frequently enough. What kind of driving does the car do?

Hello for the second time
Welcome Back! If you know what email address you used originally, and ask Colin, he may be able to find your old details and do a password reset for you? There was a provider change in the last few yrs and a lot of old accounts got a bit lost in the transfer.

How to start a new categorie
That’s for a site admin to take care of. I do know both Colin and Dean are pretty busy at the minute, but I’m sure it will get added to the forum as soon as they have a chance 👍🏻 In the meantime, just start your new threads here in the mk4 section, and put it in the title that it’s for the face lift. Then once the new sub is added, mods can pull them across easily. That said, Colin doesn’t usually split out the facelifts into their own model sub.

Octavia Sat Nav
Moisture in the antenna base on the roof. My Amundsen+ satnav in my mk2 occasionally throws a hissy fit like this, had me somewhere in the British midlands once, while I was driving around near home in South Tipperary… Ireland…

a small project
Looks like a light surround for a latch? Looks like the seatbelt latch

push headlights switch in further than fog-lamps-off setting?
Yup, On a mk 1 you moved the switch to the dipped beam position (12 o clock) then push in and twist clockwise until it stops. Then pull out to remove the switch assembly. Can’t see the basics of the switch type having changed much..

Paint code.

Sailfast
Given you’ve had the egr replaced and the dpf, even though does seem similar in symptoms to that failing… Does that engine have an N75 equivalent? Ie the boost actuator solenoid. Sounds to me like cold running is causing the turbo to not spool up. And it’s being chucked into limp mode. Thus it’s okay going down the hill as there is a lot less load on the engine.

the truth about electric cars
I dunno, but I’d say it may have more to do with a certain “B” word leading to government decisions on trying to keep foreign procurement within the EU Zone. I know it’s caused us several pains in the arse with tendering for equipment and services that get awarded to UK suppliers. Even down to stupid stuff like the D&A urine test kits our CMO and random/post incident screening service use. Ended up with dozens of us having to be recalled for repeat testing because the samples being held in storage while a paperwork snafu - who’s paying the customs, us or the supplier? (Ultimately us, but directly or via the supplier on a re-charge..) - went on so long the samples were deemed compromised.

the truth about electric cars
Imagine the flow of electrons as the same as water in a pipe - you push water in one end and the water in the pipe already gets shoved out the other end “instantly” bringing water to you flowers, or electricity to a light bulb, but it isn’t really instant. We are getting closer to our own French interconnector being ready, but it’s going to cause chaos with all those French speaking electrons mixing into our native English/Irish grid electrons. I really hope my toaster is able to translate!

the truth about electric cars
But as @Aspman has discovered, those cheap night rate ones are the wrong type of electron for some batteries 😂😂

New owner impressions and some questions
Mine is Present but blanked out and ECU coded to not look for it. You may be alright if the maf was historical. Hopefully it was and stays like that..

Is the worst thing about EVs actually the apps?
…. So cheap electricity is now being treated like 87ron versus 99ron super unleaded? You need more expensive electrons? 🤣🤣
