Christmas tree errors
It’s also possible, given the number of error codes that it’s somewhat coincidental. Did the oil spill everywhere in the engine bay? Possibly in any fuses etc? Because that amount of sudden onset faults sounds like an electrical short

Crazy car design
I’ve seen a couple of new Toyota land cruisers around the last couple of weeks. Looks like a Lego interpretation of a 90s bronco…

Buying a Mk3 - Impossible specification?
*board room circa 2005… “So our mk2 Octavia is ready to start production” “Is there much leftovers from the mk1 production?” “Probably another 10thousand shells and all the panels, trims etc. we’ve thousands of engines left over too” “Hmmm… seems like a waste…” “I know, let’s just build em anyway but only sell them to taxi drivers until we run out!” *board room circa 2010 “So, we started our mk2 Octavia Face Lift sales last year.” “Great” “Oh and we finally ran out of mk1 parts!” “Thank Jesus. Now start designing the mk3 version.”

Help! VRS TDi, which front spring!?
+1 to checking the colours. Don’t assume the part number lookups are correct. Also be very careful about “equivalent” or “compatible” items. The weight distribution between diesels and petrols is different. Also a lot of parts websites think that because a part is for a golf it’s then gonna fit an Octavia. But again, the ratings are very model and spec specific. Just because it fits doesn’t mean it actually works.

Are Octavia identical as A4 and Passat?
Same engines, but not the same chassis. The mk2 octy is built on a modified version of the mk4 golf chassis. Pretty sure the 2010 Passat (B6?) is the first generation be on the MQB chassis, along with mk5/6 golf etc, that Skoda got to use for the mk3 octy.

Hello 👋
Have you had any error messages about the dpf? The light coming on and then going sounds like normal regeneration activity. It’s when it comes on and stays on you need to start thinking about forcing a regen. And even that’s easy to do - Good long clear ish motorway stretch, get over 40mph with revs at 2000-2500rpm for about 15-20mins. And have more than 1/4 tank of fuel.. ECU should take care of it then.

Fabia 1.6TDI - Coolant Leak, not visible ?
At a guess it’s a CAYC engine? In which case it absolutely has an egr system , the cooler is buried down the back of the engine. Easiest way to get to look at it is from underneath with the tray off. Lumpy idle during a regen is it trying to complete the cycle which should be done “Between 2000-2500 rpm at a speed above 60kph” usually taking about 15-20mins at that speed and rpm consistently. I find 4th gear at 90kph is a nice middle ground unless I can get to a motorway.
