  1. i havnt taken much notice of the time to get to temp tbh i also have the 1.6cr, but i would expect it to be slower in "chilly" weather. irs worth noting though... the temp sensor in a mk1 diesel had 2 outputs - one for the dash, one for ecu. the dash sensor tended to fail, mine didnt display above 70deg unless i was pointing downhill stuck in non moving traffic for a few minutes for months. i dont know if this is the same on on 1.6, but if there nothing else wrong, id say your fine..
  2. f'k all at a guess must have a look at mine!
  3. interested too... though id like one that does sleep tracking too
  4. how is the oil looking? as you said the coolant low warning light came, if it is the oil cooler, and oil is in the coolant while the coolant level drops there then also is coolant in the oil...
  5. holy hell, you joined in 2008 and it took 12 yrs to make a post????? that has to be an award worthy record
  6. if i had to guess its a cable clip, from the loom going to the speakers, or maybe a guide for the pull bar from the internal door pull to the lock mech?. it has 2 little barbs on the wider side (bottom in the end profile pic), so they clearly hold something thats pushed into the gap. the narrower side (top in your end profile shot) looks like it hooks into a slot somewhere. i havnt a door card off mine yet to visualise where it should be, sorry.
  7. chalk it up first - its an instant spotting aid, esp if doing it solo, as you see the track lines when you open the door i do seem to remember someone, possibly Bowders1 having an issue and tracing it to corrosion under the plastic in the roof rail slots (his was a hatch but still..) and that antenna bolt seal was also a common one a few yrs ago when i joined first (2012)
  8. nah, itll only get locked when 50% of the posts are actually about your mpc using your wife's hrm on her stepper please note, that is in no way meant or to be interpretted, as a slight on Mrs Shy, or her fitness activities
  9. oddly, i dont mind that grill. i dislike the really chintzy lookin mesh where (imo) the fogs should be. the paint job is horrendous, and the overall shape gives a feel of "battered and rotted 1970s Rolls Royce owned by your broke neighbour who fancies himself as a bit of an antique dealer" thats an unusual descriotion for a car i know, but i hope it conveys adequately the image which I intended it to generate
  10. antway Shy, why not start your own progress thread?? shy's MPC thread (miles per calorie)
  11. that they do, as, iirc, they include a vasodilator affect so help open up the arteries to allow more flow at lower pressure. (i could be wrong on that bit, im not on them and it a while since i read about them).
  12. @muddyboots yes! this is the kind of bio i want to people to feel happy to share. at the moment im still working my to consistent pace on the 5k route, im trying to decide between stretching the distance oe making the 5k more difficult (adding weight for example) its a bit of a conundrum, as with a 6yr old and 9month old, and tryin to work full time (mostly from home) there isnt a lot of time left day to day to add more run time. im gettin up at 630am as it is to get it done before everyone gets up for the day! ( not fun when the 9month old decides hes waking at 4am until 530 ) i think im into the "liking it" phase now, esp as i am getting up regarsless of weather..
  13. hi, not sure if the loom is in place, but you would have to get them coded in either way
  14. check the boot seal - rub some chalk along it all, then pour water over it. if any gets in, it will wash the chalk off. do the same with the back door. boot hinges can also let water in. you say your back seat was damp though? so have a look under the headlining at the seals and nut for the radio antenna.
  15. this morning was the most odd run i've done. it was warm, humid, drizzly and just icky. so i left the house with a wooly hat on, which intook off and stuffed in my pocket. (do this when its cold too, until im up and going nicely). but 300m later it fell out! so i had to double back 20ft to retrieve it.. lost a bit time, annoying. i carried on, but went up the steep hill instead of around the other way, so that i wouldnt have to double back, its a minor route alteration. tgen i decided to chance coming up by the river. stung. flood barriers still closed, i couldve hopped it but i couldnt remember if the gate at the other end is climb overable, so... i took the right, and headed out by an access path beside a shop. i climbed up and over the fence rail and when hopped down to carry on running my knee just decided nah, your not jumping now your stumbling... and i ended up executing a beautiful forward roll (martial arts breakfall style) and then carried on running through the carpark. i hope the shop staff got to see it for a decent laugh on the cctv...
  16. paid for the lovely lie in today though... spud jr woke up at 4am, firat time in a couple of months that happened. wouldnt re settle, had to do a bottle for him... got back into bed at 5. got 10mins sleep between then and the 635am alarm.. i really really was tempted to say screw this im stayin put. but, reality was i knew i wasnt going to magically go back to sleep if i hadnt in the previous 90+ minutes so i got up. left the house and really didnt feel like it at all. but... i managed a new personal best
  17. friday morning, just jogged it out, had been a long week. straight out, it was nice having a lie in for the weekend. neither of the kids woke up early, neither did I, or swmbo.. was in bed until after 8am for the first time in... years!
  18. you wont be allowed buy either then
  19. given the flood defences are in place, and the river has over topped the bank in a few places, i didnt risk getting stuck or having to turn back and adjusted my route a bit. managed to still be done in 24m 31sec, despite there being a nastier hill to go up and over on todays circuit. missed the river section though, its peaceful
  20. a rising tide with the rising sun on the way home from my run this morning.. flood defence barriers are up to close off the path accesses after the torrential rain yesterday
  21. what setup do have for this? that whirlpool shot is stunning
  22. if its an 09 and on original springs, id do both...
  23. Progress Update - i just went back and checked... my first attempt at running what turned out to be an almost 5k took me... over 35mins, probably closer to 36.. my time today is a new Personal best at 24m 31s. so, i have shaved 12mins, ish, off my time over the past nearly 4 months of running, and im able to carry on and function for the day like im looking for where both my lungs fell out... Im a happy bunny! also. i have new routine plan in my head - mornings only, leaving before 7am. Mon. Tue, Thur, Fri. it gives me the weekend off so a shot a lie in... and it gains a run per fortnight compared to the current every second day plan. dounle gain
  24. is the time right yet? edit. we may be waiting, he hasnt been on since sept 2018... wonder did we miss the right time?!
