  1. brilliant. very informative write up codling99
  2. as the owner of a 2003 cordoba before my 2004 mk1 octy yes. 100% agree. even the change of plastics to the octy was way better than the seat. and carpet was an awful dirt trap
  3. does running in trainers that weigh about 1kg heavier than usual each count as weighted running? a 5k in a yellow weather rainfall alert isnt really fun. 40sec slower than Saturday courtesy of all the standing water.. and all the water in my clothes. ooooooo thats even shakier than i realised when i took it 😅
  4. id be more inclined to think the new cap isnt sealing properly, allowing air into the header which in turn is lettimg the coolant out of whereever the leak is. the older cap is a proper seal, and is holding a vacuum on the system to stop the leak.
  5. did someone in wolfsburg steal the lower light clusters off a kia cee'd in the car park when they were putting the demo together?
  6. and so tonight... i got out earlier, still teally warm and humid but at least no hot fog yet. new Personal Best! i am 83secs from my target time for the end of aug with 8 runs left 8n the month. so, i push myself for 15secs longer each night (doable if the humidity would ease off) i should be able to shave 11sec/night off the time. then i plan to maintain that pace for a couoke of weeks and get really comfy with it before deciding how to push the challenge. i may add a little body weight to it..
  7. 13th Aug. thursday. delugr of rain after a 26deg high himidity day at 2015hrs. i didnt leave for my run until about 2115 it was a "Lightness into Dark" 5k. still 21deg, and there was a hot fog rising off the river. it was like running in a 5k long steam room. no oxygen in the air which felt like it was at 167% humidity. i ran through the puddles to at least cool my feet down a bit.. it was the most horrible run yet... worse than even the first couple i did.
  8. 6th aug skipped the 8th due to family event.. 9th Aug 11th Aug.. its still dropping... that was a very muggy disgusting run..
  9. diggin the zip tied together front bumper. the colour is interesting... i kinda assumed it was red
  10. 2nd August.. no walk, a straight 5k. my first time ever in my life youll note the return lap was even 6 seconds faster than outbound as i ran the last 200yds as fast as i could to crack the 28min mark. 4th Aug... lost an entire minute running with a headwind and flogging rain..
  11. you could still potentially turn a profit on it though? get it straightened out with some diy and flog it on. even if you only make a couple of hundred quid..
  12. so.. the current "to do list" general service (gone a bit overdue courtesy of lockdown etc) passenger window regulator new rear springs may throw new shocks in too while down that end. other than that, everything is hunky dory. havnt had the glow plug light flash at me in months, so i dunno if that was just a random incident that has self healed ...
  13. @olduns may have some tips and tricks for the wrapping is this going to suffer niw you have the mighty suzuki to clean up?
  14. meanwhile.... thats a good looking Scirocco, they are way better looking than a golf...
  15. wed 29th July i did 29m 13s with only 1 2min walking bit. fri 31st July down to 28m 27s again with only 1 2min walk bit both nights were alright, the walk was up the toughest bit of the climb near home.

yuo, just ignore the few posers that irritate, and continue on a happy trail compared to facebook and other car forums this place is the mary poppins institute of happiness and joy... but yeah, theres always going to be a few that get under your skin
  17. due to the poxy journey i had to do the other day, i couldnt pull in to get 160,936.... aka 100000miles.... sickened.
  18. im due a run tonight, but im also nice and clean and tidy in mu suit right now after the christening.... im honestly torn !!
  19. the only thing i miss from my insignia is the cruise control being on the steering wheel, with speed adjustment by rolling a wheel switch. instant response instead of the push buttons and wait on the "standard vag" indicator stalk type on my mk2 octy. thanks for the above, be a couple of yrs before i can contemplate a mk4 tbh, but still nice to know some of the likely annoyances and minor issues.
  20. thought of y'all might find this interesting. maybe @XLBaconDoubleCheese 's brother? iirc??? might be enamoured:D
  21. sat 25th i forgot to screenshot it... mon 27th i managed to runn the full way to the turning point in 13m35s. ie lap one,lap 2 is a double tap short split time to mark the turning point. i then kept running for lap 3... nearly 20mins continuous running.. another personal best.
  22. nice one Colin, You or a mod can move my running Diary. also i think Gaz statted a roadside about prostate cancer? bring thst one in too
  23. any evidence of the wear cutting across the tyre though, rather than around it? its the only reason i can think of that would cause the tyres to over heat but not the brakes. even if it was the bearings, the heat would go into the brakes..
