  1. Old Established Engineering matters not a jot as things evolve and then trial and error starts all over again. VW Group have never really got the hang of Rubber / Seals, Chains / Tensioners, Water pumps and certainly not software.
  2. The System came about when there were Run Flat Tyres getting fitted an BMW / MINI drivers could not recognise a blow out. To see just when your particular car warns of Circumference / Total Diameter change from being set try after setting letting a tyre down a little try 5 psi first. Actually the TPMS can warn when a tyres circumference / total diameter gets greater. An over heating brake / hub / wheel expanding the tyre. Bearing going etc. Tyre inflates more heated up.
  3. There is a challenge for next year.. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/453741-700-mile-tank-range-citigo
  4. Best you leave well alone if you do not know your DSG,s.
  5. A 285 miles range seems fair enough.
  6. @varaderoguy Where are these pletherer of filters going to be used?
  7. @Mkg Are they familiar with DQ200 DSG,s ?
  8. Citigo. 1.0 MPI Petrol. Not Turbo / No Diesels. @ollie12345 Welcome. Is there a service history? When were the spark plugs replaced or the air filter? (maybe the airfilter has not been looked at for along time.)
  9. I suppose he is acting up. Ask him if he can call a friend over that Software Update. Talk to the Tech Team. Easy Friday, nothing else to do. Pity about Dundee, they are usually very good.
  10. Are you dealing with anyone from the Executive Team, a Communications manager or Resolution Manager. actually a Skoda / VW Employee? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/525919-software-failure-not-so-superb/page/10
  11. Maybe Luke Evans @ Skoda UK needs to go and contact someone that knows what is happening by this Friday 13th.
  12. But it last 6 years, but we do not know how many km the car / dsg has done. Plenty running the oil that was filled in the factory from 2009/10 or what was put in at the Service Campaign in 2014. So a decade ago. @Mkgbest have it checked for fault codes. ? How many km has the car done. Any record of anything having been done to the DSG like some incompetent changing the oil? Are you changing both oils @Gammyleg or is it you having others do it.
  13. It is one ting killing the golden goose. But the UK Government takes the money and puts it into weapons / ammunition and gives it away. As it is the farmers cost increased when Russia attacked the Ukraine and fertiliser , fuel /energy went high. The UK always there taxing and bringing in revenue and the wars go on. They do not tax high enough the USA Weapons industry in the UK though, they give them grant aid. They even gave Tax Relief to oil & gas companies in the North Sea to decommission rigs and some did and some sold them on and some are very much still in the North Sea with the licences they got from Russian and Chinese Companies. ED MILLIBAND MP being involved with Energy in the UK is really taking the Michael.
  14. ^^^you should have been up in sunny Scotland then. But maybe not enough sun right enough to get my 10 miles a day needed. Especially if getting only 2 miles to the kWh in the very cold weather . Just have to use electric from the local Solar Farms and their Battery storage then. They seem ok as far as sunlight goes. PS. Are you all down there not really using Green Energy from renewables while getting cheap tariffs,,?
  15. @Watsons might return and tell us if not only did he / she change their car but also at that time their trousers / rear pockets normal habit.
  16. When my Corsa Electric shut down with a fault, and also needed a Software Update that was a RECALL, which i had never been informed about as the car was not RECALLED, there was an issue. Supposedly Bandwidth at the Service Centre was not enough and Updates were not completing. 97% and Computer says no. No idea of the truth. But what i do know from TRACKING the car and knowing the Service Staff lied about it,s location and movements. The SOFTWARE Update was carried out on a Sunday while the Service Centre was Closed to the Public / Centre Customer Service Staff. Only issue, after returned to me the Over The Air Update reverted the car to the pre Software Update. (Safety Critical Update.)
  17. ^^^ When the Issa Brothers took over ASDA the Competition and Market Authority CMA), Ex Monopolies Commission (MMC) got involved. Supposedly with the EG Filling Stations already owned / run they had to sell ones off. The UK Government are possibly going to be in a position where TESLA EV Charging is has the monopoly over public EV charging in the UK, or England. If Reform UK ever form the UK Government then there might be Nigel Ferage, Richard Tice, Nick Candy & Elon Musk running the country. Which of those are very big in Investments Electric Vehicles and Property ownership or Leasing?
  18. This morning i heard a news story again about missing targets on Public EV charging and much more needs doing outwith London and the South West. Really it should not be Public Money needed for Public Charging as there should be the ability for Companies to make profits providing charging at realistic prices. GREAT BRITISH ENERGY as a company or really a Public Owned Agency needs to be ensuring the the Companies are allowed to get on and build charging hubs and the grid connections are not delayed. Where the public should be contributing is with publicly owned Waste Land / Brownfield sites not suitable for housing being made available to Businesses to lease and develop for the Charging Hubs / Transport Hubs, HGV Rest Stops etc. That is not just about on Motorways but in and around towns and cities. North West, England... This term FAST CHARGERS for 7 / 11 kW AC Charge Ports needs put to Bed. SLOW AC Charging. Some are only 3.6 kW.
  19. Welcome. Why did Skoda UK insist the car had to go back to Skoda Specialist Cars Dundee, part of the John Clark Group? The warranty t&c,s do not require that. Can I asked why you bought your new car in Dundee? They are a Skoda Dealership that does Software Updates. Where was the car at to have the warranty work done,,,? At the John Clark Body Shop? The software updates are a real issue.
  20. & not all 1.0 or 1.5, TSI with a DSG are jerky from a start, just as all 1.2, 1.4 or 1.8 TSI,s or 1.6 TSI,s with a DQ200 DSG are not.
  21. I have bumped one of the many many many threads for you concerning the issue,
  22. Brake fluid first at 3 years and then each 2 if doing it. Pollen filter every 2 years. AC Recharge, if needed, not every 2 years. Car Alarm Siren Battery was @ 5 years, they can last 10 years or more. Spark plugs every 4 years / 40,000 miles, If you are doing them. Check the Air Filter every year. *The cam belt is nothing like with a diesel nor is the water pump, Non Dust Countries were not 5 years / 50,000 miles other than VW / Skoda UK said they were. Timing chains might last a life time, the tensioners might not. Actually if the break that is the engines life ended. ............ Top is what Skoda had servicing showing as up til 2019.
  23. I doubt there will be any Slight over reading of the speedometer as it OVER reads now with any OEM sizes. It might well read accurately with a slight Circumference /total diameter increase.
