Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
Spoiler. He has not got the letter yet. Lets assume there are garages not attached to the Porsche drivers house. Or any house. It is a garage. They would have the car undercover though.. Not to be something you do... Head for thinking, feet for dancing. Porsche UK are taking the Pith. They should have the cars in and stored in a safe compound or together where if one goes up they all do.

Skoda equivalent to VW Golf eHybrid?
Surprising there has been no mention of a MHEV Fabia which really is a surprise it would have made sense.

Skoda equivalent to VW Golf eHybrid?
@Occy245 Any link to press releases on a Mk4 Fabia 1.5 TSI PHEV? The PHEV,s have a DQ400-e DSG so no clutch pedal. If you think the car is right and maybe time for a rest you might have any drink you fancy!

Driver Car Seat Cushion.
@sussamb not always about you. @Watsons A cushion might well help, like a Sciatica one can help. Just depends, but this one i used for years in various cars that were not mine if i had to do longer journeys. Behind for back or to sit on.

is an oil change really needed?
The Oil & Filter Service interval can be 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles for those doing the sort of miles usage to suit that.. It is not 'supposed to be that'. It can be Fixed Service Intervals for lower annual miles, sorter trips etc. 9,400 miles / 372 days. To me your cars engine really could do with an Oil & Filter change if your car is a keeper. Condensation causing corrosion in an engine. Then Servicing is more than Oil & Filter changes, if you are not doing inspections / maintenance etc. Haldex & Brake Fluid servicing as well. Hygroscopic . So low miles is as bad for stuff as high miles, worse really unless a vehicle is dry stored.

Occasional Fast Idle Speed 1000rpm on 105TDI
@Skodacrazy Is it actually a problem, or just you have a Euro 5 TDI and it is winter time? Or are you not in the UK and someplace warmer?

Auto emergency stop for no reason?
If someone died or had life changing injuries the Police or Insurance Loss Adjusters would have the ECU from the car investigated and it would tell if you braked or the car auto-braked. People have been reporting the issue for years now and saying how dangerous the Braking when not required, Faults / over sensitive. They have just been luckyno accident / injuries / deaths. So really. Corporate Responsibility VW Group / Skoda Netherlands should be investigating your car. Have the Design / Engineering / Manufacturing / Material / Software faults. Report it to your Vehicle Safety Agency in the Netherlands. Have the Insurers / Brokers do their job. Tell them of the fundamental faults with VW Group vehicles software. They should know. They are insurers...

DSG gearbox service This may have been covered before, if so my apologies, but I notice the DSG box does not feature in the Skoda service schedules at the main dealers. A service is surely necessary so what is the cost if carried out at the time of a min
Welcome. What Karoq do you have, so what DSG? No servicing of a DQ200 7 speed Twin dry Clutch DSG. Cost £0.00 If a DQ381 7 speed wet clutch DSG that is at 80,000 miles, or sooner might be sensible. Maybe up above £250 now, near £300, and you want Oil & Filter done. If the car has 4x4 / Haldex that needs serviced more often. @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner.

Mobility cars. Are they worth it
- the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcherhis driving licence when he gets it back will cover him. He knows about everything else. He had a tongue in his head.- the truth about electric cars
Today the news early on was that the Utility Companies should be offering different deals / tariffs and ones with no Daily Standing Charge. Loans on Used BEV,s has been available in Scotland. Maybe the BBC could have mentioned that, then that could be read out on here.- the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher I have watched his videos as he posted them so i did see the problems he caused himself to have. He was collected vehicles and not then looking at getting charged to know he was good to go, or paying much attention to it was a BEV he was driving for Gain or Reward / Work. He is on about the state of the market & discounting we have been discussing all this year, who are the people that he thinks he knows better than that are non believers. He is just one of the many Vloggers that have been repeating the stuff on vehicles, pile them high, and eventually sell them low. You also spotted registered vehicles, and like him really did not know what they actually were or why where they were there. ......................... He had driven Stellantis Cars before this, so forewarned is forearmed getting in a van.. 2 battery sizes, same as the cars were which was 50 kWh with 45 kWh usable, or the 75 kWh one. Which this is not. Economy mode does not give the best range on a motorway / dual carriageway. But you just need to try 5 miles in each mode and you would see that. "But A i am not paying!" So get on and start the charge and then do your 2nd job being a Vlogger and HMRC will be able to tax you on the income from that job. Youtube video maker. Not many overheads as while doing the main job the vehicles and charging costs are being paid and not costing you.... 50 kWh Battery, but only 45 kWh useable battery (small battery), 3.5 miles a kWh x 42 kwH. is 147 miles, they only get 3 miles a kWh though. 126 miles and not empty. **It can charge at UP TO 100 kW, but here is on 50 kW chargers.** New Stellantis cars have the 50 kWh usable battery, and the most efficient us the Citroen C4. Brain of Britain realises that from the coast which is at sea level to inland means going up hill. Also that Charging first then talk to camera is simply clever... Places to be and people to see and talk guff to.- Cambelt Confusion 1.6 dti Mk. 111
@gm73 You did not have it done on a 1.6 TDI did you. You have a 1.5 TSI ACT. But what ever, sooner maybe better than later. This might not include 1.6 TDI,s. Cam Belt Guidance change (1).pdf- the truth about electric cars
The £40,000 Luxury VED is on the List Price. It matters not if you get it for under £40,000 because of a discount. @Graham Butcher If he just stuck to actual facts then that would be something. The crazy exaggeration about Milk Floats and range. Yes Stellantis 50 kWh usable batteries might only do 3.5 miles a kWh, so 150 miles and a bit from the latest. He says the insides all the same, and guesses a Mokka will be the same as a Peugeot, or a Citroen, they are very different from each others inside.- Skoda equivalent to VW Golf eHybrid?
Sorry no idea about 1.5TSI PHEV Octavia. There is the SEAT Leon e-Hybrid 1.5TSI (PHEV)- the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol Is that you getting 5 miles to a kWh if 4.6 kWh gets you 23 miles?- the truth about electric cars
I do not see anyway that the Government in the UK, or Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland are really encouraging anyone other than business's to go Electric. I can not see anyway that anything to do with the infrastructure for public charging will be helped by anything the governments do. They could set up Companies that give training and also do direct labour / ground works at charging hubs and installation of EV chargers. These 'Youth / Adult employment schemes could do Commercial Work for other businesses, for local authorities and do home installations. Basically privatisation of EV charging installers, but working with Commercial Concerns and not to undercut them. Help get out the trained people required how can maybe even become Contractors / Sole Traders / Business.s. Get the Planning in order and Local Authorities. Battery Storage is required, and solar canopies etc. And no Land Banking and no Permission given to those who do not own the land while those that do own it are blocked / refused planning.- DSG boxes on 1.0 and 1.5 engines?
@oldstan The point is they are not made of chocolate. They can take abuse, they last well. The issue are sh!te ones leaving the factory. 2009-2012 VW Group using the wrong oil causing corrosion. So '34F7' as a Global Recall, excluding Europe. 2 years later a Service Campaign, not a RECALL. Then 2013-2015 a Pressure / Heat Issue after they used different Oil. so Service Campaign '34H5' started in 2017. Many cars missed. 2015-2018 a Software & Clutch issue for some, so a TPI. Then the WLTP and the 1.5 TSI ACT Kangerooing issue, and not just manuals, also DSG,s, but also a Software Issue with the DSG for some. The issue is treat them nice and they can fail, so as well treat them mean while under warranty and if not fit for just driving. ( No Racing / Rallying / Offroading.) Then not fit for purpose. The No SERVICE REGIME / RECOMMENDATIONS / GUIDELINES is of VW Groups making. They should have a 10 year warranty on them like they did in Asia / China and some other world regions in 2012 when the had a WORLD WIDE RECALL.- Insurance charges on 2021 Karoq 1.5Tsi SEl
They whoever they were if not a Bot /AI likely know nothing about fitting Winter / All Weather Tyres / Wheels. ? Are 17" not the Size Specced by Skoda for the cars wheels if using Snow Chains, so not a Modification, just an option that is sensible even in the UK. Should not require declaring as a modification. But then modifications should always be declared.- My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
-5*oC is when the Power Meter drops to reduced available. It stayed at reduced until the Temperature got to -3*oC. Acceleration up to 70 mph. and a bit of acceleration is still available from 70 mph even when showing 75 or 80% power available. -3*oC just now and when i go out later i will be watching for it to drop from 100% if the temperature drops after dark. Charging at home tonight and i will look in the morning before Pre Conditioning the interior and see if any affect on the battery. Preconditioning somehow works far better heating interior, de-icing rear screen and putting on seat heating & de-ices the front screen quicker than if i get in and turn on and switch on fast De-Ice / De-Steam the front screen. 5 minutes done on remote start and all clear glass. If i get in the car it can be 10 minutes on me setting it. Obviously i am in breathing.- the truth about electric cars
I just stopped and help a lady start charging her Zoe. She knew if needed the CCS, it was not reading her RFID car or starting. That was because the lights were RED. Probably a child or ignorant adult charging hit the Emergency Stop but never restarted the charger. She did not know if not the 2 lights were Green the charger would not work. The 43kW AC on the side was green. I turned the Stop Knob for 10 Seconds and pulled it out, reset in 20 seconds. She said she knows how they work and was grateful for a bit more instruction. *I know the car that was charging when i went past a little earlier and i will try to see if they are the driver that keeps leaving the charger looking out of order.*- DSG boxes on 1.0 and 1.5 engines?
On the other hand i never treat them with care. I boot them, do double kick downs, put in M and do not change up forcing it to which is the quickest for sprints. I have run them putting out more then 250Nm. I have had every kind of Automatic, Semi Automatic, Automated Manual, CVT, Servo Clutch etc. or driven them. I thrash them if i want to and if they break then they get fixed. But i have never broken one. I have bought faulty ones, uneconomic to repair and had them repaired then treated them badly if i am wanting to get a shift on. I would hate to sell one once fixed if it was going to let down the new owner. But then i have a mate that is probably the best Automatic Repair Specialist in Scotland.- the truth about electric cars
There is no way that i would suggest to anyone without Home or Workplace charging cheaply or without discounted public charging to get a BEV for private use and buying / renting using their own money which they get after tax. The cost of electricity in the UK is nonsense and really shows the Social divide or Business / Commercial users or purely private vehicle users for personal use. But not just vehicles because also their homes, and being on Smart Meters or not, and being able to get OffPeak tariffs or not, then regional differences on tariffs and standing charges.- Spots on paintwork/bonnet
@Mltw Welcome. How long have you had the car and is the first time when washing the car that you have noticed these spots? Has the car still got the original paint 20 years on and wash the last cleaning / detailing any different from what was done previously? - the truth about electric cars
