  1. Doh. Are people in the Country that voted for Brexit just thick? The UK left the EU. It was not removed / towed away from Europe.
  2. If only every VW was as reliable as some VW,s it would be dead easy to know what to get. 'Should of bought a Passat', Or rented one! Someone needs to tell Porsche that Leeds is in Europe.
  3. What speed of charge on CCS. Near 50 kW on a 50 kW charger from a low battery?
  4. Car traders and dealership's should really be checking cars and if back to factory settings. I know some new owners might want upgrades that previous keepers had done, or they did. But the likes of an Ex motability car at 3 years old and that went to auction can have the steering assist increases or decreased. Brake assist as well. Then there is obviously cars that may have had a remap done and that is still on the ecu. But even Skoda Approved Used cars are sold not back to factory settings.
  5. Hope you are sorted now. I hope they checked that their useless fitter has the correct plugs in with the correct gap (yes pre gapped but if you knock them then the gap can close.). ? So no software updates they never told you they did,? Were you told that no need for a cambelt change until 180,000 miles or many years from now?
  6. In Scotland Lots of places EU funded no longer have the signs showing they were. Roads for Fish and logging lorries. With crawler lanes or passing places. EV charging hubs and the likes. So transport links. Sometimes very fancy or over fancy things like road side walls. Small stretches of roads but cost an awful lot of money. Lots of consultancy money, materials and workman ship not from the areas where the work has been done.
  7. Is it you that has to pay for the work? If so then when serviced tell them to ask you if you want it done. It is not the MOT examiners job. Or is the person doing the service visually handicapped.
  8. They are also available on Amazon at 2 or 3 times the price on Ebay, and maybe equally as crap, the same thing from the same place. Sometimes they are not though. That is the issue.
  9. And in the real world with the parking brake applied and the shifter in P when the engine is off you might still feel the little movement as the Pawl in an Auto or DSG holds the car. On the flat not much,. on a steep slope be careful about a heavy movement. Then there is the Starting up again. foot on brake, ignition on, shifter moved to Reverse, or through reverse, N and into D and a bit of a jolt possible. Not so much in a Fabia as in a bigger heavier car sometimes. Just full stops, full brake pedal, full on hand brake, do not rush it. Until the time you forget and you do rush it. How i see some drivers do it makes me cringe. Often that car be car salespeople. No vehicle sympathy. Remember that when buying an Ex Demonstrator. 'Managers car, top of the range, driven by Tom, **** & Harry'.
  10. Young days yet and not short cold starts in a cold place. The rpm higher is as it has been with TSI,s and catalytic converters since long before GPF,s. Never heard or read yet of anyone with a Skoda since 2018 or any VW model needing a replacement GPF which is a good thing. Let's hope that goes on for many years beyond 6.
  11. EU funding. Better together. As in Europe. All for one and one for all. Just that England was always playing it like they were special. Scotland might be a poor poor country with so poor poor people. But then it had a small population lots of land and is resources rich. Funny how keen some were to keep together the Union even though Scotland is supposedly a drain on it.
  12. @Crasher or @ApertureS might have more than just ideas that can help you.
  13. Down to them to fix their mess. ? Did it get the new spark plugs @ 40,000 miles as per, schedule, guidelines, recommendation, specification?
  14. @Luckypants Or us that only have a 50 kW max charging on DC. @Graham Butcher They are just car parks with Free Parking and that have Bus Stops. Busy with all sorts. Dropping off cars, meeting up, heading off on bikes etc. Charging just a bonus. The other side of Perth coming in from Forfar has a Park and ride but no chargers. The ones in Perth near shops still require a parking ticket paid as well as payng the charging. Chargers between Perth and Aviemore are unreliable. CPS. Heading to Aberdeen without going to Dundee the charging is at Forfar with Angus Council / CPS beside the A90, and McDonalds, KFC and Marstons. Then either Brechin or Laurencekirk.
  15. Perth & Kinross Council charging still @ 35 pence a kWh for 50 kW chargers. Which suits some still. 30 pence on 7kw.
  16. On PlugShare there shows a planned charging hub above McDonalds with 36 more charging points.
  17. Podpoints and filling station is at a Tesco's. There is a Dobbies site with chargers. Then Ionity down near the Inverness road and BP ultra chargers. There is a very big BP filling station down from these chargers, just below using the same entrance with HGV pumps and parking bays. And MFG chargers. And the busses stopping places. And Chargers. Up the road next to it as McD,s and a Travel lodge. 1/2 a mile away is going the Hydrogen plant and filling station. The houses that got approved along with that. This is Scotland first proper Low carbon transport hub. This is the greenbelt on the outskirts of Perth at the junction for Edinburgh, Glasgow and North A9. Near is the Porsche Dealership and chargers and Others. The Super markets are near the football ground and the car dealerships then Down at the Motor mile. The planners are not stupid. The EU paid for the Charger Hub years ago. The car parking was there before chargers it is a Park and Ride.
  18. @VAGCF It is 5 decades since i lost a leg and i have driven every type of car or van with 2 pedals, autos, cvt,s servo clutches automated manuals, dsg,s, / DCT,etc and with all sorts of engines or fuels. If they needed booted they get booted and i use the brake pedal as seldom as i can. Loved them all for very different reasons even the Early DAF and Volvo CVT,s. Least favourite would be a Smart Automated Manual and a Citigo ASG. What a coc-k up of a gearbox. Edit today 300 miles in the BMW auto and it actually drives much the same as my MINI electric when in Eco Pro mode. No sympathy given.
  19. Hardly a nice little earner if the car passes and it is an advisory. Unless your MOT teat station iswhere you get work done. It is Main Dealers that service cars that more often say 80% worn when just 20% worn. Or even loads of disc and pad yet to be used. You can always get your MOT at a Council place that does not do repairs.
  20. Or if someone is behind or several someones, touch the accelerator but not as much as to accelerate and you have drive again and in gear.
  21. They are dead easy just 2 pedals. It is just some remember to not sit with brake lights to the annoyance of those behind for extended periods. A thing in Britain really as is how the highway code is or some were taught to behave. Plenty could not care less about lights or others and have no idea even if their fog light is left on.
