  1. When was the Haldex last properly serviced ? Is it possibly a tyre / surface interface / lack of grip issue and the Haldex operating or not operating correctly issue. Front slight wheel spin and the rear then working, or maybe not. Check you do get the part time All Wheel Drive that the car should have.
  2. UK / New Zealand roughly half a world apart. 2022 vs a 2025 one, you get differences.
  3. There is a video on here of a visit to the Moulsdale Foundation car collection. The next open day. 20th July. Tickets required.
  4. Have a wee look for the many similar threads. There is a very recent one. They talk rubbish, the recommended tyres / wheels for use with snow chains are smaller. Type Approved sizes can be used.
  5. Good. What is a Full Service.? Nothing they do. Fluids, Pollen & Air Filter, Brake Fluid Change, Spark Plugs, AC etc etc. They carried out an Oil & Filter & Inspection Service. Maybe they did look at the Pollen Filter. Even Pre 2020 a Major Service is not a Full Service.
  6. Because that is the way VW / Skoda have it, and the Tech at the PDI & Services should have them matching. 'Used Pre Delivery Inspection.' But good they put Oil Change. (Pinch of salt some dealers over that.) Look see and Oil Change, (Rigorous checks, ye right.) sometimes not even an Oil Change, the first time checked since new and oil topped up. If an oil light does not come in why would SALES STAFF check Demonstrators oil levels? Not like it is their car to bother about.
  7. They have caused confusion. Best get a Service just before the car is 3 years old and any warranty work picked up on. Maybe a MOT not at a Skoda Dealer in the month pre 3 years old. ? What service was done at under 4,000 miles. Was it basically an Oil & Filter change and a look see, so an Oil & Inspection Service according to the record. What do you want, a Fixed Service regime or a Variable.? ? HOW MANY MILES A YEAR ARE YOU GOING TO DO? So @ each 9,400 miles, Oil & Inspection Services, @ 3 years Extended Scope with an Oil & Filter service. Or from now Variable @ 24 months / 18,000 - 20,000 miles? The thing is there is no Just an Inspection Service. No Price for a Service without an Oil & Filter service. If all they did was & Oil Service of an Ex Demonstrator then that is that. Pollen filter the extra with the oil change at 2 years. & now seemingly Brake Fluid first at 2 years not 3. DSG not at 40,000 miles if a 1.5 TSI with DQ200 DSG & Cambelt not as shown.
  8. @lol-lol fully charged after 30 miles of driving yesterday. Car was showing 85% battery after 30 miles. Too hard a ride for the dog bouncing about. 16" wheels / tyres might well help a bit with that. And with improving range. Looks pretty good at 100% charge this morning. I have 80 miles to do today and it would be a cheap trip but not taking it. Yesterday left me with a sore back just driving it home. Boot keeps not shutting unless banged closed. That needs adjustment. Pretty poor from factory. Definitely getting a 2022 / 2023 MINI Cooper. Either by the one I have or another. They are so damn cheap now and more so hopefully August next year. Far superior car. The ICE are more expensive used, but I will have one if the price is right. Just to get a 5 door and not anything newer than 2023.. my MINI and the 520 BMW have you had samd space for driver and comfort. Minh controls are better / easy used. Not small symbols.
  9. I had Minis, and a Clubman and a Van. All with Mini Auto or MG 1100 or 1300 autos. They cornered flat out on bends and went down the same roads as I drive now as fast. My Oxford Built MINI is far better riding. But is on smaller wheels. Plus comfy seats. My MINI 1727mm wide, this one 1756. No black wheel arch trims. Feels narrower inside. I have seat fully back and low and steering wheel down and fully out. My fingers can not reach the screen in the middle without leaning forward. Not for messing with when driving IMO.
  10. Plastic seats are horrible in the heat. The ride far too hard on bad roads. 225/40 r 18 Maxxis. The screen a PITA as well. Light cloth would be no use to me. Not that I would have one if given to drive for free. Arm rest just a joke as is the door handles position and the seat adjusters on the side. Bloody quick but bouncing a out that much that you might get dizzy or unable to focus. Long story short. Not bothering driving it until it goes back. I will use my diesel. Very efficient though even with AC on. I will charge it to 100% tonight.
  11. Use a search engine. Any online sellers.
  12. Are you thinking of like a Groundsheet / Picnic mat. On the roof. I have one that is Tartan Cotton on the up side and silver reflective for laying on the ground. Suitable to put fabric side down on the glass and reflective facing up. Some strings through the peg holes could be put in the open windows to keep it in place. When Parked Obviously.
  13. Actual real world, if in 7 hour @ 6.7 pence a kWh or now 6.2 pence you get 50 kWh. The works van is not getting 200 mile, 4 miles to a kWh. But its all just man mans. (Balls in the park.) Edinburgh City Council had Contractors having to have Electric Vans. Going home and coming into work might need the employees having to charge before work started or they were into the city. 50 kW or 75 kW battery vans. It was OK when charging was free, then there was time limits and penalties, then 45 pence a kWh & now 62 pence. Workers / Couriers etc needed sometimes more than a 40 minutes charge and they just took as long as they needed. 50 kW max chargers. It was and is a p!$$ take, and getting worse. South Ayrshire minimum £5 charge and now 70 pence a kWh. 60 Minutes Max charge time. 50 kWh @ 70 pence is £35.00 for 170 mile, 200 miles if you are doing well. £35.00 is 25 litres of diesel at 140 pence a litre. 25 litres = 5.5 gallons. x 35 mpg is 192.5 miles. VAT claimed back on Public Charging. But if paying 89 pence a kWh still bl00dy expensive. PS. Standard Tariff, maybe Customer charger used or 3 pin lead. 10 x 30 pence a kWh, £3.00 for 35-40 miles.
  14. There should be a record of it having had the Haldex serviced twice by now. 3 years / 30,000 miles. Hopefully more than just oil changes were done. As to the DSG if a DQ381 with the scheduled service at 80,000 miles. Maybe done and maybe not. Or is it a DQ500 DSG, and a 40,000 mile service schedule. AC servicing, brake fluid changes. Any warranty work history?
  15. Car getting dropped off tomorrow for the work. A dash out job so hopefully creak free when i get it back.
  16. Not necessarily Full Charges, or at home. He might have a Workshop / Lock up and power. Tax benefits, grants as well. PIVG / The Plug in Van Grant. But if the £20,000 more was all on Diesel & VED then the van is a high annual mileage one so there is lots of charging of the electric Van needed. They come in 50 kW or 75 kW battery sizes. Real world the big battery might do 170 miles but not WLTP 200+ on a full charge. The 50 kW in a car can struggle to do anything like the 150 miles and workies tell me 100 miles is at a push.
  17. It is just money. The Government takes and the Government gives back and there are so many on the gravy train they forget it is the peoples money.
  18. I would want brakes serviced not just Brake Fluid changed. Not just told 80% worn when 20% worn and advised to have new discs.
  19. @nta16 I edited. Green chart was 2020 Major was every 2 years. But what Skoda Main Dealers was charging a Major at the First 2 years the same as at 4 years. That was fraud really as at 2 years you never got what was due at 4 years. HMRC lose out, the parts department has parts. Some how the same £279 or £289 was charged including VAT. @classic How many miles have you done @ 3 year. Are they calling it a Major Service. It is Oil & Inspection year 1 & 2 & 3rd year plus Extended Scope. Then Oil & Inspection year 4 & Oil & Inspection year 5 plus extended scope. Skoda came up with Extended Scope each 2 years after 3 years old. They also changed brake fluid back to first at 2 years not 3 then each 3. They want the work yet can not fit in for services for doing Warranty or TPI,s. Because they never do right the first time. Then they upsell when they do get you in.
  20. ^^^ That Green Chart prices are 5 years old. This Blue one 4 year old. The ones i posted are 6 years old.
  21. Really it does not make sense any more than the old system before Oil & Inspection Services and Extended Scope. Minor / Interim & Major service alternative, or Major / Major, each 2 years. A Technician without looking decides no Spark Plugs required, after all only 20,000 miles at the first Major, or not 40,000 miles at 4 years. 3 or 4 spark plugs stay on the self. The Tech decides no Air filter to look at or replace. The Same money gets charged, no extra labour time, no parts used & no VAT required, But the Fixed Cost is the same. They make double profits on some cars and others actually get serviced / maintained to Manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines, Schedule, Specification of Advice. It is a p!$$ take really. Warranty and recovery is good, but Warranty requires Serviced to Manufacturers Guidelines. The old way. They too the Michael. Or many did if they could get away with it. Up to 2019. Computer says no, you paid but no go away minus parts.
  22. Really the clue is in the name of the colours. What model / trim is your Fabia. Can you post a picture of what it is you are replacing or getting? Is it like the sun glasses holder?
  23. @SteveDon Welcome. How many miles has it done and when did the DSG last get an Oil & Filter changed? Within the last 40,000 miles? (OTT, but does the Haldex get serviced each 3 years / 30,000 miles?)
  24. Is it sitting in P with front wheels locked? Can you shift to N to see if it will start there with a foot on the brake pedal or will it not come out of P?
