Fuel consumption of turbo
So what is the weather / temperature just now, and how far do you go from cold starts and are you allowing Stop / Start to do it,s thing? ? What octane fuel are you buying?

Fuel consumption of turbo
Really, i would never have known that. Well actually i did. People in Europe buy fuel in litres and work it out that way. They drive kilometers. The UK is in Europe, and buy in litres and the car shows in MPG. They drive Miles / km. That does not mean that everyone in the UK is as daft as a brush. So are you buying that much fuel? ? What octane petrol are you buying?

Fuel consumption of turbo
Is this figure from the cars info or you actually filling up the tank and maybe driving 100 km or 200 kw and seeing how much fuel is needed to top up again. Is this a vRS with an DSG (autobox) you are driving? How quick would it be going if you were to be taking it to above 4,000 rpm in each gear? The Turbo is not making it thirst. Non Turbo of the same engine capacity and power will very much likely be a heavier drinker used the same way as you are using your new car. You never bought a city car but if you had it would likely use the same fuel as you are using now.

Fabia Mk3 inner tie rod dangerous corrosion of the threads.
@htm139 Have you got it yet? Your car was/ is called a Fabia 3, THAT IS A TRIM LEVEL, but it is a Mk2 Pre Face Lift and not a Mk3 Fabia. Your car and others were called that more than 5 years before the Mk3 Fabia were launched or even before the Mk2 got a face lift. Parts required are Mk2 Fabia.

Fabia Mk3 inner tie rod dangerous corrosion of the threads.
@htm139 They certainly did not, and since you posted in the mk3 Fabia section look at the pinned thread at the top about 1.4TDI overheating. Production started 2014, first ones arrived in the UK late 2014, early 2015. Some Mk2 Fabia were First Registered early 2015 but built in 2014

My DSG gearbox seems playing up..
There is something wrong. It is going to let you down and very likely sooner than later. It might have been an idea to stick this in the thread you already have.

Fabia Mk3 inner tie rod dangerous corrosion of the threads.
@htm139Is that a typo or is it a 2009 Mk2 Fabia 3 1.4 TDI so not a Mk3?

? Is this Retrospective applying of a VED on vehicles registered from as much as 9 years old unique? I seem to remember at Budgets & Pre-Budget announcements hat it was said in the past that this sort of thing would not happen. I was aware of it when it was first announced.

Skoda Octavia 1.8 TFSI DSG Flashing D
Servicing every year makes no difference to your DQ200 because it does not get touched. It might have had since 2014 the service campaign 35F7 and the oil changed from Synthetic to mineral and a software update. For DQ200 2009-2012. Best you visit an automatic specialist that works on DSG,s.

Cars in £20 a year tax band which is fixed, how come?
The £0 & £20 VED at the time really was and is a joke considering the cheating that was done with the testing pre-WLTP. Defeat Devices and testing on Rolling Roads on Base Models without options like spare wheels in the cars tested, not that that really mattered. Before that the Scrappage Scheme that had some people buying a new Diesel City car was a P1ss take. Many of those cars bought then were scrapped years ago. Now it is PHEV,s that are kidology which the WLTP helps with. If they did do 200 mpg + for each gallon used with just one charge up of the small battery before a journey how amazing would that be.

Cooling down turbo engine, by idling engine..
Does that mean if you are out in really hot weather in the countries where you are doing really high speeds not just half max speed and you come to a halt say at busy traffic, accidents etc or motorway services you must make sure you have stop / start off? The turbos are fine and the coolant circulates when you turn off the engine. Running the engine is not doing much to cool a turbo or lubricate it more. ? Why not get out and open the bonnet if you are really bothered, and get the dry ice blowing into the engine compartment.

Fuel Leak!
^^^ That has been the case in the past with After Market Warranties like with engines such as the 1.4 TSI Twinchargers 136 kW that VW Group never admitted to having issues, fundamental design, manufacturing, material faults. They came to agreements with them where as customers without a warranty were screwed over. Then there were times like with Turbo,s where if actuator was required while in warranty they said it needed the whole thing as you could not get just an actuator yet you could actually get an acuator if not covered by a warranty and pay the real cost.

Snow tyres and chains
As it is when you measure around the circumference of a Snow or All Season (3 peak) tyre the sizes can be very different from what you might see from the Sizes on a Side Wall or calculator. Easy of chains on and off is important as you will know and it is not just the chains on it is chains on and clogged up and lack of clearance that matters & then arches / wheel wells that get filled with frozen snow / slush. .

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
Re the older car thing. They are like older people managed to get to the age they are. In the UK if they are old enough (Vehicles) or appear to be old enough even though almost every part but the VIN Plate / Chassis number exists they get to not even require MOTs. Maybe the DVSA / Dft will come up with new legislation that politicians can get put into law about EV,s, Age, checks other than the usual MOT,s as currently. Maybe eventually they will get something sorted out about out of date Air Bags in vehicles, or potentially faulty ones or RECALL Actions not carried out, but i think there is something on Recalls showing at MOT time as advisories.

Any updates? Any helpful advice for those with EV,s or PHEV,s or even Mild Hybrids. Which Ferries or Tunnels in the UK have EV,s been banned on since this thread started, or are there any car parks / multi-storey car parks where they are banned from?

Or Per 100,000 vehicles from Sweden. But then there is the instances of arson that can skew the figures.

This must be true because he says here that is is. Scrap EV,s that are involved in accidents.
