the truth about electric cars
Finally the new DC charger is powered up at Girvan harbour. New one had no tethered AC on the side, so no 22 or 43 AC now.

Of course you measure the straight acoss. (But that is the widest bit) But when comparing tyres you might stand the tyres / when side by side and compare. You might look at the charts and the comparison. But when we do go to see what a difference there is actually around a tyre and in the centre we just run a tape measure round when and get an accurate measurement. Some of us have been doing this **** for a long time @Exkiwi Some are not so stupid as to not know about measuring and also trying things. All of these fit into the spare tyre well of a Fabia that comes with 195/60 R 15 Spares. 205/40 R 17. 215/40 R 17 & 205.45 R 17. also 225/35 R 18. The nubers on the tyre walls does not mean the sizes are identical and until you try ones you dont know which sit nicely right into the curve of the tyre well.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Booted the car when needed and no lack of acceleration. Driving in Green + today with windows open occasionally and sunroof tipped up. Air vents open and car comfy without AC on. 50% after 75 miles from start at 100%. 16 kWh to charge to 99% was £8.88. 36 minutes. Did 95 miles since then. 23% left / 25 miles. Half the miles were at 70 mph.

@Exkiwi I know what you mean. But as you know it is not the wheel in the middle of the tyres size that matters just the circumference of the tyre. The 18" wheel that are Space Savers fitted with skinny / narrow space saver tyres are meant to go right in there. I can not believe that not a single person here had a puncture and took out the spare and put the punctured tyre back in the spare tyre well. Just put in the boot, or tried in the tyre well and it would not fit.

Octavia VRs engine oil
Or come to Briskoda as many do, say what car and engine you have and the year and you pretty much get told the correct spec. And it is available in Super markets, Discount Stores, local Motor Factors etc. http://opieoils.co.uk good for a checker and service parts.

the truth about electric cars
The gentleman in the building was dead nice. He could move the van, he will point out to others about awkward for some if bay just blocked... Like these educated people never knew The flap not opening on the van and it needs charged to go to Balloch. ****** kk s Not allowed to use rear car parks since damaged cars from roof in storm coming off. This is bloody Scotland, fix the roof while the sun shines. SEPA. You get weather forecast.

the truth about electric cars
Bar stewards at SEPA Stirling. This is a public charger and DC and AC can operate at the same time. This crowd think just taking up a bay as a parking place is ok. I will try having a word inside, and ask why they no longer charge or park in what are now empty bays and chargers.

Jeez no dude, because they just have a small selection of suitable Steel Saving Space Wheels across the 5 brands. Then there are skinny spaced savers. Steels for 3 stud patterns and a few sizes, 15, 16 and 18". Then a few tyre sizes. Even an A1 Competitions 18" Alloy and 225/35 18 cites in the spare tyre well of the sister card from VW, Skoda and Seat that comes with a 195/60r 15 spare or no spare. Many if the Skoda / VW group steel spares, saving space not SPACE savers are the size that the recommended if using Snow Chain sizes are. When putting in an Alloy in the spare tyre well it can sometimes be best outer face up. Especially with Diamond Cuts that are prone to White worm corrosion. Sometimes if you work in a tyre fitting bay or do repairs you get to know what goes into what hole. Not just circles I to square holes.

Komiq spare wheel
If they want one in for what ever reason and all they need is a longer bolt to hold it in then job done is it not? The other choice being run the slightly less diameter / circumference emergency spare at a reduced speed until you get a repair or replacement at the soonest. Not that handy if you might be towing, or in more rural areas. The OP can maybe say if his father really needs an exact matching spare, or it is just his preference if he can have that.

Octavia VRs engine oil
Using oil is not losing oil. Do you do lots of shorter trips with lots of cold starts?

Octavia VRs engine oil
So it was VW508 00 / 509 00. TSI is the 508 part of that. Half way up the Dip stick if checked at operating temp is low and because a warning message on and you only put in 0.5 litres. Best check when hot.
-
Octavia VRs engine oil
Is it a TDI then? PS. Is your car getting Fixed Oil & Filter services, or was that service 8,000 miles more than a year ago?
-
Octavia VRs engine oil
OPEN the bonnet and the warning does not come back on for 100 km / 62 miles. You do not say if a TDI or TSI, but no matter. So you have no idea if the correct quantity oil was in 8,000 miles ago. If a bit low, then it is worked harder. So you did not check the level after the last service, checked cold and then as you should check, @ normal operating temperature, so 90*oC os so indicated, parked on the flat and after a few minutes? Was it just below MIN dipped cold this morning? Now you have put oil in best check next time up to Normal Operating Temperature, What oil went in, is it 0w 20 FS IV, so to VW508 00 / 509 00 ?

DPF Process Octavia VRS TDI 2013 & OIL Burn
@varaderoguy The VW Group / Skoda figure for May use as much as is 0.5 litres / 1,000 km. That is 1 litres 1,242 miles. It is in Owners Manuals for a couple of decades now for engines petrol or diesel and from 44 kW up and 3,4,5,6,8 or 12 cylinder engines. Even that is too much oil use. & they say may use more in the first 5,000 km.

the truth about electric cars
The 11 kW cable and charging unit i am back to using is twice the length of the one that came with the MINI. When i have to use an extension cable when away from home i have one of the boxes with me, but the charger has always been long enough from the building or outside socket to the car. Gray cable one is the one from MINI / BMW. I had the Boxes and extension cables before a EV for using for the vacuum cleaner or the Green House fan heater that was used to pre heat vehicles, or keep ice free during the day / night.

2.0 tai engine bay very hot
What is the ambient temperature. What colour is the bonnet as in is it a dark car not white. Is there insulation on the bonnet. And is the sun splitting the pavements? PS, is the indicated oil temp just from 90 degrees C to 120 or so. ?

Brake noise
Potential, stone trapped, dust shield bent / coming loose / rusted. Brake pads worn down, catching edge of the disc. Inspection of said components a good idea. Disc warping can happen. What is the story as far as the car, miles done, when brake fluid changed or brakes serviced or inspected?

Komiq spare wheel
Exactly, Total circumference / total diameter. Run a tape measure round them. There are Space Savers (Skinnies) and Steel wheels and tyres that save space. Important. Some crap Emergency / Reduce Speed spare can be totally hopeless say in Winter, Festive Holidays and snow / ice and Tyre & Exhaust Centres closed. Like happens not only in Scotland but other regionans. I have a BMW, big wide rears and narrower front. No Spare. I have a MINI and no spare tyre well. I have has Skoda,s and SEATS, & VW,s and all the wheels / tyres that are on the car fit in the spare tyre well. & in winter i carry 2 mating Spare Wheels, one in tyre well and one on top. Not chucked in like here. But 1 of these fit in where the 195/55 R 15 spare does. Standard sizes being 205/ 40 R 17 or 215/40 R 17 in the same tyre well of a Polo, A1 or Ibiza Twincharger.

Exactly. Depends what is on the car. Not what someone else has on their car. What someone normally does is of no concern. Or what you do. The guy in Scotland put it behind the seat in his BMW and it exploded and killed the passenger. People put wheels maybe in for repair and take home inflated. Green Favia Mk2 vRS OEM standard spare. Red vRS, mine 215/45 R 17 Spare wheel.
