  1. There is a Service book where Skoda have gone with Audi who say @ 38,000 miles, Now Skoda go with VW that have it at 40,000 miles. They have never been good with km to miles. Anyway, you are going to have to see how things go. Hopefully not a DSG issue, MCU or Clutch Packs.
  2. Has the DSG had it's servicing / oil changes each 40,000 miles, & at how many miles now? Is the servicing of the engine up to date, Oil & Filter, air filter, fuel filter etc?

  4. They get away with being 'registered Charities', these Think Tanks and Businesses that are influencing governments or used to influence anyone including the general public. http://nesta.org.uk/team/ravi-gurumurthy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavioural_Insights_Team
  5. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/500110-petrol-octane http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/394149-super-unleaded http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469546-10-tsi-premium-fuel Welcome. How many miles has your car done & has it had new spark plugs fitted, and the Air Filter checked or replaced? Did they check them before changing the fuel filter? ***How much did they charge you to change the Fuel Filter?*** New spark plugs were due in your car @ 4 years / 40,000 miles by Skoda / VW recommendations, but at least cheacked, and the air filter should be checked at every service even if the schedule shown for replacing is at 6 years. ........................... It might run better on Super Unleaded, many find they do, but it should not misfire on Unleaded 95 E10 http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/need-help/need-help-faqs/fuel.html The car requires Unleaded Petrol of a min 95 ron, which in the UK since September 2021 is E10. It might not have been running right but it should on E10 and they should be named, or where they work should be. Super Unleaded E5 in the UK is 97 or 99 ron. It is not Premium Petrol but you get Premium Diesel. It is higher octane petrol. It need not cost more, Sainsbury Super Unleaded 97 min or Tesco Momentum 99 (99 min) might cost no more than BP, ESSO, Shell etc E10.
  6. Rationing in England because the surplus electricity generated north of the border is not going onto the national grid or those that can generated are paid not too and customers with Smart meters get paid extra to use less electricity than they usually do while those with renewables all around them pay higher tariffs than those in areas with a threat of shortage. All a con and a swindle really.
  7. While i wait to see if my 1* Arnold Clark review goes live on Trust Pilot i was reading others reviews. It is amazing to me that they sit almost all the time with 4.6 stars. http://www.uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.arnoldclark.com?stars=1
  8. Scotland plan or the SNP governments is 20% reduction in car km by 2030. Not miles actual kilometers as they think they will be in the EU by that time. http://transport.gov.scot/our-approach/environment/20-reduction-in-car-km-by-2030 My plan would be very simple, straighten out the roads and it will maybe shorten the distance to drive or rip up the train tracks as the trains are not running anyway and tarmac them and run electric or hydrogen buses along those routes.
  9. @lol-lol& the EV Technician at the Service Centre Dundee is off. First possible booking is the 11th May 2023 and my car is in the car park. http://arnoldclark.com/find-a-dealer/dundee-vauxhall-service-centre/ref/arnbfs
  10. Briskoda needs a thread on anyone Green laning or offroading a Karoq and what all terrain or offroad tyres they fit. Likely not 18 or 19" ones.
  11. There are not that many actually sold and on the roads that doing the correct fixes break the VW Groups bank. As to the 2016 on DQ200's, someone might look at the parts and see if the accumulator is different from the DQ200's built late 2012-2015. The Australian recall does include 2016 vehicles. So possibly production of the DSG's in 2015. Skoda build around 2,500 a day for the VW group in busy times. http://drive.com.au/news/new-recall-of-80-000-volkswagen-audi-and-skoda-cars-with-dsg-gearboxes-some-for-the-second-time-in-six-years
  12. HGV Drivers require 'Halt / rest services with toilets and facilities road side the length and breadth of the UK roads network'. These should be 'Publicly owned land and facilities and could be transport hubs for EV charging vehicle small and large', and should take priority of land use before any more homes or industrial sites or retail ones get planning permission. If franchised there has to be restrictions on the prices / tariffs and profits the operators charge and get. Using training facilities and production lines, Pre fabricated / scaled to meet the locations and built by trainees / apprentices as part of a job creation scheme for the youth and unemployed in the UK. Not going to happen though.
  13. It will be much as you can get cheaper from others. The people that develop fixes quicker than VW as here in the vids. This members car is the DQ200 pre 2013, but the vid shows the actuator. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509953-dsg-maxidot-gear-blinking
  14. Since 9.30 am i have called Arnold Clark's 6 times between then and 10.00 am asking to get directed to the service department. I left it 1 hour from opening at the Service Centre. Person answering did the direction, just wringing until it cuts out, or redirected to sales who redirected to it just ringing. 6th time i left the request for them to message the Service Department to contact me. Has the car even been looked at so far, or where are they with things. Silence so far. Taking the pith really since they told me they had the car on Friday 14th April. ...................................... EDIT. I missed their call back as it went straight to Voice Mail. Funny how that only happens with AC and any other time the phone rings. Anyway. My car was not 'booked in' seemingly cars need booked in before being delivered by the RAC. I actually called early while waiting on the RAC to say the car was coming in, then the RAC person called, told the same person said it was coming in. I called before closing time to say it would be next day. Friday the same service desk person confirmed in and a backlog before it would be looked at. The EV Technician is off. This is Arnold Clark Service Centre Dock Street Dundee. My car is in the car park, they have lack of space, lack of interest, and total lack of Customer Service. But i knew that and is why the car was delivered by the local family owned dealership. They are only KIA now for sales, service, Motability. Still Vauxhall Servicing though, and with EV trained techs obviously. Now. I called Motability the wonderful lady has the car booked in, earliest is 11th May 2023 to be looked at. Lots of good things from her about Flexible Lease Extension etc. Great customer service. I can get taxis or a hire car but declined, so i can claim 'Loss of use' after this is over with and get my weekly payments back. Larry.
  15. That member of staff might well have quoted the Skoda Fixed Price Service and maintenance cost for Spark Plugs at a Service on 4 or 3 cylinder cars. A rip off. Actually the 'Citigo' is not the same fixed price if they had actually checked properly. But then they never. Still a rip off though. UK VAT @ 20%. If you supply only 3 spark plugs and fit and charge the same as supplying and fitting 4 spark plugs and charge VAT then HMRC are being cheated and so is the customer being robbed. This fraud has been going on for ever with VW Group and others. Same with Oil and filter changes with a fixed price on under 2.0 litre engines. Some need 2.8 /3.2 litres oil and some maybe 4.8 litres. Small engine capacity car owners being robbed. HMRC / Treasury cheated, so Tax payers. in 2023 the prices of 2021 or 2022 have risen, and the bottom prices are becoming common.

Snow up & over the Lecht / A939 today. & at Glenshee. End of the week it will be scorchio. Like any time if the snow gates are open then much of the traffic still moves on summer / eco tyres. It is scary going up and more so down though. http://lecht.co.uk/webcams http://ski-glenshee.co.uk/Snowroad-webcams http://ski-glenshee.co.uk/Webcam
  17. It is not that expensive on domestic tariffs as it is even if @ 40 pence a kWh. If that buys you 10 kWh for £4 and you get 3.5 miles per kWh then that is 70 miles for £8. 35 pence a kWh standard tariff, is 70 miles for £7. It is public slow charging or rapid costing the same or even double that or more is the real issue. But then there is 20% VAT on that. Plenty help around for commercial / business users but not so much for those private motorists or those without home charging. But then so many vehicles on the roads are commercial / business users, commercial travellers, light delivering vehicles, couriers, taxis etc. So restriction and withdrawal of Tax Relieve and incentives to those buying ICE vehicles and the requirement on tax payer / pubic purchased local authority and government agency vehicles is where more needs done. Obviously the UK Government cars should now only be Electric, Hydrogen or pedal / clown cars.
  18. Truth of the matter. In the EU and in the UK the car makers have to meet Fleet Average Co2 emission figures. So manufacturers that have not the pure ICE vehicles and electrified ones to meet the requirement without being fined for all cars with too high emissions they partner with manufacturers with low / zero emission vehicles. VW with MG/ SAIC and others, JLR with Tesla. So the kidology / rationing is happening. AKA as cheating. Now the UK has its own Fleet average and the EU it's own. Loopholes. Grey areas, and downright kidology.
  19. They have gone beyond anything that VW Group / Skoda have done in Europe, just as happened in New Zealand with the 2012 Recall where new MCU's were fitted. They are fixing a possible fault, dangerous event like loss of drive. Software update '34H5' was likely a VW attempt of as cheap a possible fix they could get away with when started in 2017 on some 2013-2015 DQ200's. By 2020 they appear to be doing what they had to in New Zealand to fix a fundamental design, manufacturing or material fault. Probably because New Zealand's courts or authority could tear them a new one as Ausstralia, China, North America, Canada can. In Europe VW is the boss and they get away with any old crap. PS I hope you do not mind if i link this thread when those on here that get landed with cars that cost them a couple of thousand quid to fix because of a failed DQ200 DSG that VW Group / Skoda just wash their hands of because out of Manufacturers Warranty. As it is people have had to go for Kits others have produced and manufactured and paid their own money because VW Group are chancers that get away with their behaviour in Europe.
  20. The gearbox not working as it should, slipping, revving higher and not changing up is a clue.
  21. Unless there are huge changes of mind by whatever UK government there will need to be hundreds of thousands of charging points going in at workplaces, on streets and many other places over the next decade as new ICE cars will not be getting sold in the UK in less than 8 years time. There will still be millions on the roads though and ones being bought new up to 2030. No way do 60% of properties or properties that have residents with motor vehicles have off street parking.
  22. Welcome. If there is nothing to help in this then there will be other threads no doubt that will come up with a 'search'. TDI though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462957-vrs-mk3-alignmentgeometery-settings http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476263-failed-4-wheel-alignment-query http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/428485-4-wheel-alignment-setting-mkiii-vrs
  23. @JamesGornellThat Recall might be because the 'Service Campaign / Recall Action' as started in Europe in 2017 on 2013-2015 DQ200's was missed in NewZealand, or like in Australia in 2019 had to be done / restarted. That was '34H5' in Europe and a Software Update only. The 4 hour in NewZealand is the same as the 2012 Recall which was '34F7' when new MCU's were fitted. Ask at a dealership, or ask Skoda. '34F7' http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/315115-service-campaigndq200-dsg-oil-changeecu-update-fabias-in-uk See first post re New Zealand. '34H5' http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425424-2017-another-dq200-7-speed-dsg-service-campaign There is another Service Campaign that i have only seen reported by a member from Israel. Then the one in Australia again in 2019. See post by @OzFabiawho is in Australia. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/315115-service-campaign-dq200-dsg-oil-changeecu-update-fabia-in-uk/page/9 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/315115-service-campaign-dq200-dsg-oio-changeecu-update-fabias-in-uk/page/8 ............................................ A DQ200 DSG will change up to 2nd very quickly from starting off, maybe even by 6 mph / 10 kmph as the doors are auto locking. It might not drop into 1st when stopping until you are almost stopped. If concerned in New Zealand about your DSG talk to Skoda because Skoda NZ are surely not like Skoda / VW Europe were they treat the owners like crap. In China VW Group put 10 year / 100,000 mile warranties on the DQ200 DSG,s when the 2012 World Wide REcall which excluded Europe was started. So surely after a 2020 recall in New Zealand Skoda can not just wash their hands of an issue / fault if there are any. I suspect your DSG is fine though. PS A DQ200 DSG in a 1.4 TSI in an Octavia is the same box as in a heavier 1.6TDI Superb but with different Software, but really comparing them is like apples and pears. The RPM change ups obviously are very different, but the speed is much of a muchness.
  24. @jonnieboi82Do not top in to MAX if sitting just now between MIN & MAX. Just mark where it is. If you put to MAX as it might have been done at a Full Service then it often then sets it's own level after up to heat on a run home.
  25. OK so not a Fully Serviced, just an Oil & Inspection service if even that and pollen and air filter. Any record of when the plugs were changed or history of previous services? ? Are you running it on Super Unleaded? Re Fault code your reader has brought up, Look at the Coolant level cold, maybe mark with a marker pen where it is and watch for any drop in that when checked cold.
