272. Remap or not?
Just go with the Remap and if anything goes wrong with the engine or gearbox or Haldex then you know you have to foot the bill as no warranty. A Tuning box needs declared on your insurance anyway and and loss adjuster working for the Warranty provider checks the insurance. Skoda Aberdeen John Clark Group are not stupid anyway. If your car did break down and need recovered you are not removing a tuning box while waiting to be recovered.

Brake replacement pricing
As that Henrys quoting that or A.N. Other, from your car having been in for a service ? Do you actually need the new discs, pads and caliper bolts?

EV real world range and cost to charge
Free charging still available in South Ayrshire for now, but more 50kW chargers would be handy. Introducing fees and time limits for the tax payer funded chargers is OK as long as they can be depended on IMO. Today there was a Technician at the Girvan Harbour rapid which has been out of service for 6 months now. Hopefully that will be up and running again as the 2 7kW chargers were not working but thankfully Swarco / CPS had the Tethered AC back operating.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
That is Real world issues with vehicles with Disabled or infirm passengers or just anyone in cars, children, animals and charging and just maybe 50 kW or less public ones available. Sitting in EV,s in inclement weather and ok being warm while charging and windows open if you have wind deflectors. Driving you need the heating, AC/ climatic on when moving or held up in bad weather / roads closed / snow gates closed. With the WAV EV,s you can lease through Motability they have pretty pathetic range even in good weather and in near freezing weather it is not just a 30 % drop in range it can be more than 50%. So less than 70 miles and you might need to get to a charger. PS. Heat pumps with EV, and energy consumption is not like putting on 1 kW or 2 kW fan heaters at home. As to journeys, some people live where winter can be 5 months long and wintery weather lasts days of weeks and you need to travel and you do and know road conditions. As to motorways. North of Perth in Scotland there are none but plenty travel a few hundred miles more up and down and can meet many weather conditions within as few miles. As it is I am sitting charging my EV in scorchio weather at the sea side less than 10 miles from thick snow covered roads where the sun is also shining.

Ais Roadtrip and cylinder glaze
Re @J.R. & VAG Diesels over the past 2 decades. Time will tell you ones sold in the past 5 years with SCR (Adblue) are doing by the time they get to 200,000 miles when they are doing low annual miles and used on short journeys.

Good. ? How many km has your car done, and was that both oils changed, and a reset done at the same time, and how much did that cost you? Ps. Had 34h5 ever been done on your DSG since 2017 when VW/ Skoda introduced that service campaign ? Sticker in the spare tyre well maybe if it was done.- Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Even at 35 pence a kWh for electric at home that is £3.50 for 10 kWh. So if you get 3.5 miles a kWh that is 35 miles,. 70 miles for £7. Pretty good from a big comfy SUV if that is what you need for your transport. £71.40 a week to lease from Motability but then there is that Advance payment to come up with. Cheap rate home charge tariffs are stil available for some now and might be returning with more of the utility provides. With the Kodiaq you are paying out the £3,000 or £3,500 and getting your 35-40 mpg or whatever.- Service Interval
The clutches are dry. There are 2 oils, in the box and in the MCU. The world wide recall in 2012 was to change the oil from synthetic to mineral in ones from 2009 to 2012. This did not include Europe as VW somehow have Europe separate from the world. So in 2014 it was a service campaign started. 34F7 to change the oil and do a software update ? Did you have the oil changed because you were wrongly told it was required or because of an issue like the one from 2013 which required 34H5 to be introduced. Heat / pressure and leaks. Broken DQ200,s ?- Main dealer or not?
Sadly paying silly amounts & using main dealers might help with a Manufacturers Warranty claim and some say with 'Goodwill' repairs, that is actually Goodwill given because something failed that should not of and the Warranty should cover . Again sadly that servicing @ main dealers does not mean that things are done correctly when you have a car you own and are keeping after the Warranty expires. Things like them nor servicing the Haldex correctly, just to the Manufacturers Specification, so oil changed only. Stuff not even looked at annually or b-annually or now at Extended Scope inspections at 3 years, things like the Air Filter box not even opened to look at the state of the filter. As for wheels removed at 3 years, that can sometimes be the case and just as likely not.- Water Ingress - Passenger footwell
The cars original battery might well be not taking a charge, but a fresh battery on is needed to see just how bad things are. As far as a 'write off' goes and value that concerns accidental damage, fire, theft and recovered. Here it is a car that has been allowed to get to the condition, it was not flood damage through accidental circumstances, and it is possible that someone in the trade might very easily make an economic repair of it. PS I re-read the OP and that another battery was fitted and diagnostics hooked up. Still i am in doubt over just how bad things really are with the car. Getting it undercover and the windows open would have been my priority and most peoples i would have expected.- Service Interval
Welcome. If it is Front Wheel Drive only it is a DQ200. If it is from 2014 it should maybe have had the Service Campaign '34H5' carried out sometime from 2017 which was on some from 2013-2015. A software update. No oil services are required with the DQ200's.- How (un)common a sight is a Skoda Scala?!
I looked into Skoda Ayr today to show my partner a Kamiq and try for size and maybe a Scala as looking to order a car in May with Motability. So plenty Kamiq outside & Fabia or Karoq,s & she spotted the one Green Scala and a there were Enyaq's including a vRS Coupe parked right at the door. The salespeople were busy so i sat in a Kamiq Monte Carlo, wondered about and looked at the few cars in the showroom, no Scala though. Through to the SEAT showroom where the salesperson was busy so sat in an Arona, looked at a couple more, sat in an Ibiza and had a wonder outside to see if there was anymore Scala around to check out colors. Nothing about i spotted. Contact with staff was zero which suited me. I will get a Scala on loan from Skoda Dundee in the next few weeks and a Kamiq just for a bit of a comparison and see next quarter if the Advance Payment on the Scala is the same or less than the Kamiq's is and if so likely go for a Scala.- VW developing ID2(?) Golf variants EV
'Insiders' are just VW Group Employees as in the Media Team telling what they want to to Haymarket Media Group who are Autocar / What Car / Piston Heads and a contractor for VW, so what the VW Board want released as a story. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haymarket_Media_Group Now other Media, Social etc can just rehash what Autocar was allowed to say.- Water Ingress - Passenger footwell
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear this sad tale. ? Was this taken any higher than the Contractor for Skoda UK's Customer Services and onto any Senior Executive Team?- Grace period for late inspection
Are you talking for the protection of a warranty. manufacturers or extended? There is an oil and inspection service. Warranty conditions are to manufacturers recommendations, guidelines, specification, not even schedule. So the issue is there is no recommendations on Inspections. Actually 'Inspection due' Is some odd thing that VW group have coming up or a cars Service Indicator at maybe 12 months when the cars oil and filter services might be due not until 24 months. In warranty t&c,s you have if it says Servicing should be within 500 miles. That is not an INSPECTION. If so they should say that. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021.pdf VWFS_11815379_SKODA_AUW_Booklet_0922E.pdf See what they say, Within 500 miles / 4 weeks for Servicing..- Rust
@Gaz my total recall is about complete til 2021 except some amazing nights out or my Newcastle Brown era, and maybe around the time of the Black Pudding Incident. Best forgotten.- scouring noise from the disks?
I am a little concerned as well for you are other road users so if you can not inspect your brakes have someone that can do it and sooner than later. Looking at the pads, but the rear of the discs as well as what can be seen from through the wheels.- Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
For Motability finance / the Charity Ev,s were very much the future. They are the biggest group buyer in the UK. The manufacturers were going to get lots of low emission first registrations to help get the UK fleet average emissions low. They were doing great deals with Motability. People could get low or nil advance payments on EV,s for transport. Free chargers fitted and very low off peak charging. Well that has gone all to pot. COVID, chip shortage and actual disabled drivers without home charging and difficulty using public chargers because they have disabilities. Maybe not a problem for drivers that drive the person who has the disabilities. Then public charging is expensive for many. Cars using just 50 kW chargers or less can mean on journeys a 40 minute wait or longer when charging is a matter or waiting in a queue. As it is Motability is still pushing EV,s and campaigning on better charging infrastructure. What a pity they can not make sure the Dealers servicing them for disabled customers can get better treatment, automatic courtesy cars etc.- Rear silencer
Wait as they can last a long time. But start your research on where you are getting the replacement and how much they are now so you know.- First Brake Fluid Change At 2 Years?
Bump for just anyone. @SurreyJohn I thought you might be interested. - Service Interval
