  1. A remap can have a vehicle use less fuel. Not by driving faster, but by driving much the same but getting up to speed and maybe coasting more or just being off the accelerator. Just the car running along efficiently as you might have 245 ps available or more, and at UK NSL's not even be needing 100 ps to keep on rolling along.
  2. If they stuck on the sticker at the dealership then that is maybe their habit. 90,000 km/ 56,000 mile ish. 5 years sort of thing. Just ask the Master Tech or workshop manager. 'Is that what you have done sticking a sticker on and based on what from where'.
  3. Not on some DSG's, like DQ200's, like on a Mk2 Fabia vRS or others. Needs to be in D to go to the left.
  4. Welcome to the forum. This in the Mk3 forum. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509184-ride-comfort-going-from18-235-45-to-17-or-16-has-anyone-done-it/page/2 You will find lots of other threads in the sections including this one, or wheels or he tyres.
  5. @Taniv Maybe compare your cars fuel consumption from the E10 by using E5 for the next fill up. Maybe Sainbury 97 ron min or Tesco Momentum 99, 99 ron min.
  6. OT, My Corsa Electric was in for days and was shutting down during a Recall Action on it. That is what happens with a Dealership without the Bandwidth in the building to do & complete the updates and they get to 98% or so and then that is it, try try and try again. Technically known at Robert the Bruce's spider procedure. . Less OT. Remanufactured. A DQ381
  7. There is quite a difference with a TSI or a TDI, and a DQ200 DSG. I do sometimes in a DQ200 DSG drop back to S before and overtake, but if the car / engine has the power i am in D and do a double kickdown and then once moving maybe go across to M and do down shifts, but if someone in a Diesel is up my back end or trying to be caught up i might just sit in D and go back to S for slowing down and then boot it from there. It is about cars size, weight and actual performance. If i am booting it up a crawler lane in D and running out of puff in a diesel i might shift to S to get some more go, then still kickdown. The reason i prefer D is the quick know across to M with some DSG's and being able to drop gears to slow down. I really do not use paddles, i like to use the shifter.
  8. I posted in a thread from a members who's father had a DSG issue and who was getting communications from a Customer Relations Adviser or senior management like a Resolution Manager. They really have some interesting employees dealing with serious matters that i would not have giving advice on fitting shoes to a child. People do not like if i post from Linkedin.. But is is them that put themselves out there so why not. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502758-dsg-advice-request What a bunch. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/508567-suggestions-on-where-to-purchase-a-spare-car-key
  9. @CrasherI know of one about 7 years back on a Mk2 Fabia vRS that the new MCU came in from Germany and the same thing and more and they needed to get sent a new ECU.
  10. Who did the work, and what kind or warranty came on the parts, and the work carried out? March 2022. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462615-vrs-turbo-actuator-epc-light-problem Dec 2022. Page 2. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/492213-mk2-vrs-facelift-20-tsi-fuel-injector-stuck-open December 2022. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509539-fuel-injector-issue-possible-link-to-previous-repair
  11. Because they had the engines and DSG's & wanted Magazine & Social Media space, but were not even giving a hint of doing a replacement for a Mk2 vRS.
  12. The 1.4 TSI are the same but different from the 1.2TSI's. http://motorreviewer.com/engine.php?engine_id=116 Skoda did fit a 1.4 TSI in limited numbers to a Mk3 Fabia. The R5 tribute 1.4 TSI 125ps
  13. ? What engine, a 1.2 TSI? Maybe a battery earth / loose terminal issue. Maybe the EPC was a misfire because of a Spark plug or Ignition Coil. So things need checked, any fault codes read to see if misfires have been logged. ............ A member with a 1.2 TSI Rapid posting a year ago with nearly the same experience. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501916-stabalisation-control-esc-and-engine-shaking
  14. When they sell you a car that shows the max bhp/ps, Nm that is really the Minimum it should be in near perfect conditions. Near sea level, no extremes of temperature and running 95 octane petrol . Also the minimum in less than ideal temps / altitudes. So in the UK on Super Unleaded 97 or 99 Ron min you might well expect better than published with a Skoda. Not better than they say a VW or Audi might get even if a heavier vehicle.
  15. Scotland's last nuclear power station is due to close in the next year or so and there are no plans for any new ones being built as much as the UK Government think they can push for them. That means it is going to be Hydrogen from Wind, wave / hydro and solar producing the Hydrogen for Scotland and for export.
  16. The Dealership staff & customer services will tell you sealed for life. They are not 'Sealed for life'. but there is no Servicing guidelines, recommendations or schedule. Nothing to be done unless there is a fault. No oil changes at 40,000 or 80,000 miles. (The wet clutch DSGs have the same oil in the box and MCU, the DQ200 has 2 oils.) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510641-yeti-2016-automatic-geabox-oil-change
  17. If you are looking at gearboxes and BHP / Nm. Look at the 2015 Polo GTI 1.8 TSI that came after the 2010-2014 Polo GTI 1.4 TSI Twincharger. The Manual has the 1.8 TSI & 192 ps & 320 Nm, and the DSG car was still 192ps but limited to 250 Nm (supposedly) . Supposedly heavier, but just as fast. The Twinchargers battery was in the boot as well.
  18. You have a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG, of which there is only one type, Skoda produce about 2,500 a day. They are have been used in over 50 VW Group applications, different software, so it is a DQ200. Not used with a car with Haldex / AWD. Used with 1.0,1.2,1.4,1.5 & 1.8 TSI, or 1.2,1,4 or 1.6 TDI,s with 150 ps / 250 nM or less front wheel Skoda's. (Kodiaq an exception.) Electrified Skoda models, Mild hybrid are a bit different , DQ200-e and a 1.5 TSI PHEV gets a DQ400-e.
  19. Welcome. What country are you in? If you want to remap the engine or gearbox or mod the suspension then you just go for it and if something does wrong and there is no warranty you pay to repair do you not. No point buying the warranty extension if you want to modify. Engine issues, DSG or the Haldex would be the big expense items and the DSG is the most likely to have issues if the car has any.
  20. ? How much more for a lease of a car you can maybe get compared to one you can not get? For those getting cars for business use, BIK! If you do not need or want one then don't get one. The issue is those wanting a Skoda Octavia Mk4 iV. People would get it if they can, but when production is suspended they can not get new, so the boot size is might be bigger, but you will have the size of boot of the car you are having to extend your lease on.
