Engine Cover Dealer Delete
There are people that open the bonnet, dip the oil and top up, check the coolant level and fill the washer bottle. There are actually people that drive many miles in all conditions and where engine compartments get dust and stoor in them and onto the engine cover. Vacuuming the top of the engine or blowing it off with an airline should not be necessary. Even an electric motor gets a cover over it to give it the appearance of some sort of engine. Personally i look after the appearance of some keepers and leave others as they are as long as they run OK. With Lease cars i really could not care less what they look like under the bonnet or what they will be like at 4 years and older. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/451768-best-way-to-clean-engine-bay

Karoq cam belt change - start saving now !
Nobody forces you to have it done, it is only their recommendations or guidelines and it appears to be a schedule but at 5 years the manufacturers warranty will be expired anyway. Germany might well be more like the environmental conditions of the UK, so maybe look at what VW Group advice for Timing belt replacements with s 1.5 TSI ACT in Australia or even New Zealand. 120,000 miles might be 10 years with some vehicles or even 20 years by some peoples annual mileage.

Ignition key stuck in barrel- DSG
When working correctly the shifter has to be in N or P with the engine stopped for the key to be removed. (The Car can be started in N as long as the ambient temp is not below -10 *oC.)

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
The Front of House Managers says sorry just a bit or a mix up. As to an Automatic Courtesy cars, she is not sure if the Corsa Electric cars they have are automatics.... The Pure Genius product gurus at the Arnold Clark Innovation Centre in Glasgow need to maybe get out in their longest range EV's and have a wee tour around the Service Managers. Maybe put them on a coarse. I was asked, 'Do you know how many employees Arnold Clark have?' Well yes i do. & Arnold Clark has colleges.. http://gtg.co.uk/about

If there was one thing I would change about my Kamiq…
PS DSG Clutch Packs are covered in the Warranty, so if a Dealership or Skoda employee says not you can tell them to read the T&C's or those in an Extended Warranty.

The Paint Warranty is 3 Years. I used to do Warranty Inspections. Corrosion Warranty was 10 years and is apparently 12 years now, if you can find that on the Skoda Warranty now. Remember the 6 months / 6,500 mile items, panel fit etc and do not put off til the 1st Service to report anything that might be in the exclusions. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf

Engine Cover Dealer Delete
They look like the dogs dangle butt naked. Much lighter than some 'Much Lightness' & style achieved added by buying and fitting a Carbon Cover to fit to cars the weight of an African elephant.

They will not rust through at the bottom, unless they do eventually. That will be after the Corrosion (perforation) Warranty has expired. They might rust higher up if a Yeti or a Fabia Mk2 at the window seals, or because of Zinc Inclusion with the likes of a Yeti, but that will be visible on the outside and a Dealership Employee might never have heard of that or seen that or believe as covered by the pain warranty as that is only 3 years. Well it was and required new panels not just a repaint.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
40 psi because if at 36psi in cold weather that could bring the range to only 100 miles compared to 120 miles maybe @ 40 psi. Easy to drop the pressure if needs must. The 205/45 R XL tyres are rock hard, and add to the rock hard ride even when the Suspension is new. The cheaper models are on 16,s. Waiting for Arnold Clark response.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
Tyre plugged and just waiting till 1pm and the car away on a ramp for a MOT and DVLA examiner to have a wee look. As to the tyre, Arnold Clark Customer Services have had that complaint in writing and by phone. Now for Motability while I am waiting. They might get a video shortly.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
Barstewards. Sitting at KwikFit, because they do Motability tyre repairs. I did see a yellow chalk mark rear passenger side tyre. Assumed it was techs mark to be sure tyres go back on same side as comes off. Michelin Alpin 6. On comes tyre pressure warning this morning and rear near side is 26psi. Others 40 psi. Screw in tyre 4" in. So will see if it gets plugged. Called Arnold Clark Service Centre to ask WTF. The lady on the phone sees no issue with the Tech or the Service Manager not making me aware. Or leaving me to drive off with the screw in the tyre. So once up the road it is on the phone to Motability Customer Services. Then to Arnold Clark Head Quarters. Then trust pilot and whoever takes my fancy. First a health check at KwikFit if a ramp comes free, or if not to the ramp of an ex Vauxhall Technician of the years Garage.

How do I increase the idle speed on 2014 1.4 VRS ?
@Crucian So is that foot on the brake and the DSG in D? Because in N and parking brake on is different. As is AC on. But below 800 rpm means something is not right if foot on Brake Pedal and in D. PS @Edbostan has a 1.2 TSI. He does not say if a DQ200 DSG, but even if it is the where is the 650 rpm being read on an not accurate rev counter? Cold weather hot engine foot on brake pedal, and just in P. Normal idle.

How do I increase the idle speed on 2014 1.4 VRS ?
So is all well with the plugs, coils, air intake. Is the engine standard or modded? Does it start at 1,100 rpm and drop to this 800 rpm. Are you running using E5 Super Unleaded?

How do I increase the idle speed on 2014 1.4 VRS ?
That idle speed is about right for the 1.4 TSI Twincharger in D after 40 seconds or so after the RPM drops from start up. ? What does it go to when sitting and moving the shifter to S ? ? Is you car running modifications, air intake, coils, remap etc?

Karoq space saver 2022
@SurreyJohn How do you turn off the ESP which has been mandatory in the EU since 2014? (Skoda still had it as an option on Fabia Mk2 when other manufacturers had it as standard for years. Some do disable the ESP in snowy countries or for on the track, bit that is not by pushing a button. TC / ASR, XDS / XDS + are different from ESP.

If there was one thing I would change about my Kamiq…
There is a problem though they never bought and paid for the car. They drive demonstrators and courtesy cars. If it was their car it would get fixed. But if you are happy that as time goes on trapped water means that your car gets steamed up inside more in winter or even gets frost inside then no problem. Remember to open doors and let out the water regularly. And watch for the drain holes gunging up. Clean then out regularly.

Surely an independent Skoda garage does not need told by the customer what needs doing. Do customers tell you what you need to do in your funeral business? Talk to them about what you require, not how to do it.

OT, Looked like a demotion for Klaus. Klaus Zellermer : Ex Porsche boss is just yet another in the line of Skoda CEO's bumping his gums. 'The Czech brand will remain budget-friendly in the electric era.' He better get a grip of the technology and the quality control, and the prices are not exactly budget-friendly now if you look at the smallest and the cheapest as in a Mk4 Fabia. Lost the plot with the company and the customer and communications. The tech has gone t!ts up for them with over the air updates. He needs to fix cars people have already bought and paid for and stop being yet another VW Group spin doctor. Comedy Klaus. 4 years ago. 1 year ago. 1 month ago.- Problem with selecting Driving Modes, other than Normal.
Brim the tank & always put to ECO as you going about your driving & then brim and see how much fuel it takes then repeat and this time do the same not selecting ECO if you have a similar routine and the weather is the same, the you get an idea what is more economic or fuel efficient.- ADblue
Seemingly Skoda / VW Group stopped doing Vorsprung Durch Technik if the post this afternoon is anything to go by. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449456-2018-engine-emission-light- Thinking of buying a Mk2 Fabia vRS?
The country is full of Mk3 Fabia 1.0MPI's from the Military, everyone and their sister trader is offering them for sale for 2 much money. A Mk3 1.2 TSI is a better bet though. Cambelts due a change at 5 years though if you go by Skoda / VW advice.- ADblue
It is not for adding to fuel. It is for vehicles that have a SCR System. No earlier than around 2016/2017 with a Skoda i think. Back in the day with Renault / Citroen / Peugeot etc it was different additives, there are several in bags, or added to containers under the car during servicing, what a pita. My mate still runs one with this set up. Well when it runs, most often it does not. VW hooked up with Daimler Benz who licensed the system for Adblue and then in 2015 the crap hit the fan for VW Group and defeat devices. The Euro 5 TDI engines were either too polluting without a cheat, or would have used too much AdBlue and needed huge tanks. - KPH/MPH
