  1. They might help once done. As it is today the car is worse than it was yesterday morning. Also the car was shut down this morning and I needed to use the key in the door to get in then the fob to stop the alarm. This is how it is everytime after it is touched by a Vauxhall tech. Or after over the air software updates. Or at one place I park on the A77 overnight and nearly always the car shuts down. So charging now and off for a run over the Cairngorms. I will see what changes if any yesterday's update has done. Maybe again it is to the reggening in B. Maybe it reversed the last changes that really p|$$ed me off. I hoped it had because all it did was always have the car when fully charged showing it would get 4 miles to a kWh. Even as though the car could have 50 kWh of a charge and not the 45 kWh if it was charged to 100%. So the kidology range showed. As when the cars arrived new Then once few miles it is back to around the 3 miles a kWh or less. Good temp today getting towards the teens so it will be quite efficient or should be.
  2. Small local /privately owned filling stations selling the Brand name fuels that are usually more expensive than the Filling Stations at Supermarket locations have sometimes in the past months been cheaper than TESCO, ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and maybe any others. Even ones that have Texaco or Esso might be charging more for their fuel than the privately owned Texaco or Esso locally.
  3. Quite like that there is nothing too much in the way of extra bits and pieces attached to the New Astra. In a cloak of invisibility colour and no extra colour on the wheels it could be inoffensive IMO.
  4. @lol-lolI had a brand new Zoe for a run around the block today. Hate the seats with no bolsters, the no arm rest & just the general seating position. Even the sill height, and sill to floor. But i know what i like and like what i know. I hate a Renault Captures, in out and seats. A Dacia Sandero Stepway was more suited to how i used to like seats. The Jogger seat and seating position was dead right. Anyway no more EV's for me as charging out and about gets stupid price wise in Scotland, i think i had the best of 'Much Cheapness; charging there will ever be in Scotland. The Highlands Region Council are being ridiculous. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-64424890 http://thescottishsun.co.uk/motors/10161024/electric-car-chargers-scotland-free Nothing wrong with fair prices, but 30 or 40 minutes max charge time on Rapids is hopeless. 60 minutes is fair enough.
  5. I hope you have fond memories and maybe pictures. They need to remember you or the car owners bought and paid for the cover and it is not theirs when they bin it, or recycle. They should issue an IOY. Replacement part or cash money... Not their manufacturing price, what the replacement pre recall cost if bought at a main dealers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510390-engine-cover-recall-tsi

The Warranty is with Skoda and any approved repairer is all that is needed. Avoiding an Arnold Clark Dealership / Workshop is a good thing. I just had a pretty usual experience this morning @ the Service Centre Dock street. How they have 4.6 on Trust Pilot is beyond me. They will likely be in touch wanting me to change my review when it gets read by heid yins.
  7. I had a good poke around a showroom car today, but i manual. It was comfy for me and i will be going to try a hybrid when the dealers get demonstrators.
  8. @NeilMH This is what the suspension was like when nearly new. The springs are just like dead now.
  9. Well after 80 minutes the car was parked outside by the tech, and after 10 minutes i ask the guy on the desk when they are telling me the story and he asks if i want him to go find out. Doh, like yes, but just go get the manager. There were a few eyes and ears on us now from the offices with open doors and a couple of customers. So the manager was very nice and came and sat down with a folder and asked if there was a problem. I asked if he remembered the last fiasco and the calls and nonsense but them learning from their ba-lls up. He could not quite understand why there was an issue. The car was in for a Software Update and an inspection. But it was in for the Inspection, no word of an update. Off he goes and then comes back to say that someone tried calling a land line number yesterday. Fair enough, but all calls have been via mobile, somehow they have not that number. At this time the car is away getting a wash and vacuum which i was asked if i would like. So anyway when the parts come in they will call me. With that mobile number they do not have. I asked what the problem was, so he looks in the folder. Front Drop Links, not the rear. I said really, i had it on the ramp yesterday and he looked in the folder and yes from and rear drop links. That car is just like it is running on shortened springs. Then i go along to the showroom to see the car i arranged to test drive, but after some looking it seemingly was parked were i was at the service centre. They have Corsa Electric the same as mine and the same age for sale, just above the £20,000 sort of mark. *Not even with someone elses money or barge pole would be mu advice.* Off i went to the Arnold Clark Renault & Dacia Dealership next to their Hyundai dealership. What a breath of fresh air. I will be back there when their showroom & Demonstrator Clio e-Tech arrives but more importantly when the Dacia Jogger Automatic Hybrid arrives. All the space anyone might ever need and a comfy in and out. Maybe not that economical but i can extend the Motability lease on the Corsa electric until this time next year or longer, or if electric charging goes too high just put it back, i have a choice of my old diesel or petrol cars to use so not stuck. .................................... Highland council has more than doubled Rapid Charging to 70 Pence a kWh.
  10. Skoda /VW will want paid for it. Want the first registration done ASAP. There are Average Fleet emissions to consider and other stuff. Talk to the Dealer Principal.
  11. Arnold Clark Service Centre. 7.30am all open in reception. Nice as car booked in for 8am. Car on charger and they started it for me. So far so good. But, we will see how this goes. 'Good morning, your car is in for a Recall and a inspection service.'. No it is in for an inspection of the suspension. Well seemingly yesterday they find out a little software update is required. So I ask what that is. Just a quick update. What for? Just a Body Control module. But last time the car shut down for 4 days. Nothing like that this time. The last Software updates made the car worse. Well the gent on the desk could not give a flying duck. So I will see how it goes. I might need to speak to the Manager before I leave. The one that apologised last time over the staff incompetence. The one that said they were using the poor performance of the staff as a training example. They better get it right today. I asked why the Booking Centre does not know they have Corsa Electric cars. The guy says they have no idea what places have. I asked why Arnold Clark have an Innovation Centre that millions has been spent on promoting EV,s staffed by Geniuses on Products yet the rest of the company are clueless.

& lots that think they are good drivers, or maybe were back in the day find out once lane keep assist alert them find out that they wander.

Lots of drivers out there seem to see nobody around to benefit from an indication, these are often the same drivers that seem to wonder about out of their lane.
  14. I was more thinking safety of paying customers. Use a mechanic that might not earn much more per hour than an the same hours mini-cabbing and gets parts cheaper than you maybe can unless you get trade discounts. Car maintenance is an overhead of the business after all and the tax man recognises that.
  15. @Schm565Just noticed you are in Scotland, who is selling it, and what area are you in and looking at getting the timing belt done?
  16. A painter can tell you, a couple of minutes to look in the book, or a place that mixes paint, like a local Motor Factors with paint, cans, rattle cans, touch ups they mix. But someone here will tell you the code. Check out. Skoda F6Z Rallye Green.
  17. With a main dealers work there is a 2 years parts and labour warranty on their work. If the Independent guarantees their work then good. But if it is the Skoda Extended Warranty that is important to you then read and understand the T&C's.
  18. Probably they paid too much for the car and might still be asking too much, or just are not interested in having others do work. Check that your local independent has the tool required when doing a 1.0 TSI then. & their price. They might well not be using OE parts but no problem as you are not concerned about a Skoda / VW Warranty. Just the job done correctly. ??? *Have they done one? or more!* http://mechanexpert.com/timing-belt-replacement-on-mk7-golf-1-0-tsi This price at this service centre will not be with OE parts. They can tel you how much wit those. (There is a post about it today regarding 1.5 TSI's that are costing from £750 and Skoda are quoting as much as £1,300 on. But then it takes over 6 hours according to them.) That is the 1.5 ACT engines though, more than a 1.4 / 1.4 ACT or even just a 1.5 TSI.
  19. Welcome. Is there no sticker in the Owners Manual. Any local pain supplier can check from your VIN, as can a Skoda Dealership, or maybe even on-line sellers, or your reg number at a dealers. Maybe show what colour green your car is on here an someone can tell you. This?
  20. How often does your local authority have Mini Cabs tested is it it a free for all and just an annual MOT? Go to a garage that will do what you want correctly if you do not know what you are doing. London has plenty mechanics. Plenty mini cabs as well driving the same roads. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502142-lift-kit-for-fabia-mk1/page/2
  21. This is an example. Local chargers for local people, or visitors, people just wanting a charge, wanting to get moving on. You find one working and think good it is working, there is someone charging so fair enough. They need to. Take what they need. Plenty for all, no time limits. Then you check to see how full they might be. So how long they might be away. People like me get peed off, same cars that block a rapid or fast charger for hours when charging has stopped and they have the charger locked in. You have no idea if they will be back in minutes or hours. They like to have 100% in their cars just incase,,,, Personalised plates and sign written vehicles are good for publicity for businesses. Some business owners must be daft when it comes to their behaviour and thinking others do not discuss things in the local area.
  22. Well add something like that and paint them and when a careless passenger chips that paint repaint them. Or make them a feature. Fit hi-viz Orange ones like we did in the 1970,s,. Or the clear ones. Retro! Citroen designers did the Bubble Wrap look on cars and people laughed at that Simply Clever body protection against careless others.
  23. Even with a few mm of even cm with extra the greater tyre circumference is that not lost with the suspension sagging carrying the additional weight? Is there a suspension lift? 3 additional people and luggage. EDIT. Now i see. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502142-lift-kit-for-fabia-mk-1
  24. Sorry, missed you were just looking to buy the car. ? So is it a Skoda Approved Used car. FMDSH, or FSH? The manufacturers guidelines, recommendations, schedule is at 5 years. So is the other stuff done to the Manufactures recommendations. Brake fluid, spark plugs, pollen filter and oil and filter. They should get on and do the timing belt if they are putting 12 month warranty or 24 months on the car.
  25. @MichaelTL so seeing as you will want to keep the warranty you paid good money for valid you will be needing to pay the higher price of the parts. Just how it rolls. So sad 😭. So sorry, so long.
