  1. welcome. I will flag this so a mod can move to another section. Other similar posts went to the Mk2 Fabia section. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480670-16tdi-abs-long-code-missing http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466205-abs-long-coding http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504231-abs-6r090739ar
  2. Or scrunched up aluminium cooking foil dipped in salt water and give that a wee rub. For worse on chrome dip it in cola. I prefer to drink the cola and just use the salt water and foil. Really cleans up old push bikes and the likes chrome. But that is proper chrome.
  3. @ZacDaMan72 That is clear as in you recommend at 60,000 km, and i recommend before 80,000 miles by maybe the owners circumstances and if a keeper. (eg do not pay for a DSG oil change because you have to do a 40,000 mile service or a 60,000 mile service before the end of a lease, leave the Dealerships / traders to do that before flogging the car again, which is unlikely. If buying a used one with a DQ381 then maybe get that DSG service done & have a Warranty in place. Buy one if you are not getting one with the car.) I read your post as it might be VW Group having a 60,000 km recommendation, guidelines or schedule. That will be coming i expect. Dependent on failures within 120,000 km.
  4. Just watch for drips on the ground which are not just H2o, and remember that Warranty extension. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505394-gearbox-leak http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509581-7-gear-4x4-dsg-gearbox-error-codes-for-a-2018-tsi-kodiaq http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502781-gearbox-in-emergency-mode-no-reverse-gear http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509728-2018-kodiaq-20-tdi-180-repair-of-mechatronic-unit-electronics *Remember what you will be told at dealerships and even on social media / forums, 'people only come to forums when they have problems.' Not when they have problems and the Manufacturers are being deaf dumb and blind to issues / faults they need to address sooner rather than later.
  5. @IainLVRS You say you had the car serviced as you were told to so FSH. What is that @ 16,000 miles. Was it fixed service so and Oil & Inspection each 12 months, 9,400 miles or was the first service @ 24 months so in 2021. Did you get and Oil & Filter change once or more than once. A pollen Filter. The Brake Fluid Changed @ 3 Years. The VAQ Diff (front) serviced @ 3 years? Anything else, so a FSH of stuff done or a history of what was not done? The VAQ Diff service interval is @ 3 years / 30,000 miles, Have they told you about that? It does not show below or on other Service Schedule or guidelines or recommendations.
  6. Guest_ replied to Jasethekaroq's topic in Skoda Karoq
@Jasethekaroqthe 14 weeks is interesting. Does the dealership have cars ordered already and have a build date for them and your car is going to be one of these?
  7. There are good ones, and ones that went bad and were made good & there is pure money pits about. You have to be able to find the good ones, or if you get a bad ones fix it or have it fixed.
  8. The spark plugs are pre-gapped so as long as the correct plugs that is not an issue, and you check they are all correct then not knock them when fitting. It is good to see or be told what the plugs that came out were like, and measure the gap they had. A failing plug can cause an ignition coil to fail prematurely. Not all e5 Super Unleaded is equal, but they will meet the Minimum Octane and have detergents. Once an engine starts to get a bit of a clean out it can have a bit of a while until carbon or crap is moving. Getting the engine oil up to heat and the plugs and a run is not a waste of fuel to see how things are. Maybe old pre winter grade E10 (more hygroscopic) petrol in the tank was all that was wrong. And a bit of oiled / carboned up plugs.

I asked what it was that @skoda1982could see because i wanted to know if it was something do do with changing the coding from what the car has from leaving the factory. Do they think it is Non Factory Approved Software, or Hardware? Is it like when a Dealership can not resolve a stop / start fault or some other issue so they disable it until a fix comes from the factory which is supposedly being worked on?
  10. They never 'RECALLED' them though. A recall action is not a Recall. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

  12. The Redex was a waste. I paid for my first moped in the days before unleaded petrol working at a filling station and selling 2 shots of Redex per gallon. I earned extra for that & tips. Do not invest in new coils if new coils are not required. ? What are the spark plugs that were fitted and what was the gap they came pre-gapped at and checked? The members that know your engine will be along. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506382-12-tsi-running-rough-after-cambelt-change
  13. Back in September 2020 it would charge to 100%, not that slow from 90% and at not that slow 98% to 100%. It would show the miles per kWh and then when charged show the range when charging worked out on the 4.5 miles per kWh, 3.1, 2.7 or whatever the car had been getting in a good while before going on the charger. Like ICE vehicles. Range dropped in 6 mile bits when driving. If charging i could listen to the radio without ignition on or with ignition on, and sitting in the car parked not charging maybe 20 minutes before it shut off to battery saving mode. Then September 2022 the Software update had it really not wanting to charge 98-100%, but leave it long enough and it would but it would show 180-190 miles range temperature dependent. Range started dropping in 1 mile after it gets down to the 140 max range or what ever from the fictional 180 + miles. I was able to listen to the radio when charging but no ignition on and only for 5 minutes if just sitting in the car, and no just switching it back on. Now it does not want to charge above 98%. (Tomorrow i will try on my 3 pin charger and see if it will go to 99 or 100%.) If the range was even near possible that would be amazing. The radio will not stay on when charging if the ignition is not on. It is turning off when driving then giving s bang, then lighting up and going blank, then i can switch it back on. Had a wee run to the Angus Glens before charging but really it sounds like the motor is going to die, the bearings are dry and it is on shortened springs and no dampers. Otherwise it goes well and corners like a Kart. 229 miles was back when new in 2020. That was coming back from the same run in winter but after lots of regening, on Cross Climate + tyres. Just noticed the Chief Engineers name.
  14. @Dinesy sorry to raise this. Good news and bad news. You do not have a DQ200. Sh|t news. Just the few (oveblow on forums ) but growing number of DQ381 issues. Start in the Kodiaq section. So maybe an oil change sooner than 80,000 miles. I am expecting a revision of the guidelines, recommendation or schedule from VW group sooner rather than later. Be sure to have an extended warranty. In Australia with 5 year warranties owners are still having crap from Dealerships. Ps VW wish it was overblown on Social Media. It catches then out not dealing with issues.
  15. Well when offroaders are rolled and diesel engines run on an engine might well explode. But as to a VW group TDI I doubt that. Even with one that has oil dilution with the diesel.
  16. So first 30 mins of a diagnostic at participating dealers is £60. ? Has this 1.0 TSI got a GPF. If it needs fixed it needs fixed. PS. Re. RECALL,. Do they mean a Recall Action, Service Campaign, a TPI? As there was no RECALL. As in registered keeper informed to bring in their cars. PS UK warranties 3 years. First MOT at 3 years from first registered. 2018 car has had a MOT or 2. EDIT. I See that in February 2023 it shows as £100 for first 30 Minutes.
  17. Years / decades since I never did this. But you could go away from the front where the bits of metal might be coming from and shove a potato up the tail pipe.
  18. Just the 2.0 TSI engines of a certain gen.
  19. Just for the Future. DQ200 not fitted to 2.0 TDI.s. (But as to VW that needs checked with a 2.0 TDI 115 ps as I recently was driving in a VW Golf) it may have been a DQ381. So DQ200, with a 1.6tdi if no Haldex. Then with 1.2 TDI,s as and 1.4 TDI,s. So no more than 250 Nm and FWD.
  20. Welcome to the forum. A mod can move your post i will flag it. So how many miles has the car done, So the spark plugs are changed ( 40,000 miles or 4 years as per Skoda recommendations, guidelines or even schedule) The Ignition Coils need checked. Misfire fault codes might not come up if not enough in a cycle. Go fill the tank with E5 97/99 Ron Super Unleaded and see how things are rather than E10 95 ron. The Plugs need checked again though, then the coils and a clean Air Filter. ?? Which spark plugs have they fitted? The Timing belt change was due at 5 years, but that is unlikely the issue if not done. ? Has it bee changed?

@KenONeill We are still all learners, every day is a school day. You might not see this since i am on your ignore list, but have you driven a car yet with Lane Keep Assist?
  22. Guest_ replied to a post in a topic in Škoda Kamiq
Those Traffic Police Officer Drivers that do not indicate might be doing as trained, the local to me Police drivers in town are just poor drivers. Maybe the Officers out changing lanes might like the little 'tug' they get or maybe they will have the Lane Keep Assist disabled on their Police cars including EV's now. Police Motorcyclists are pretty much the same when lane changing, nobodies business what they do. They are clearly marked and you should be paying attention and expect the unexpected from them.
  23. Well i stopped charging on the Rapid because after 5 months of it not being on the CPS app or taking money they have activated it. It was good while it lasted. So off to Tesco to get 6 kWh for no money while buying munchies then i will see how things are.
