  1. When refreshing / upgrading the suspension it might be simply clever to drop the rims size from 17" to 16" and get tyres on with more sidewall. Rather than the previous idea of less sidewall. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509273-is-it-possible-to-upgrade-the-wheel-bigger-size
  2. @Previouslyrobygerrard I think quite a lot might do that with 1.5TSI ACT's that they had intended to keep. We will see how many get sold at Main Dealers or more likely just go off to Auction or into the trade without the Timing Belt being replaced.
  3. I never noticed the Nemeth. I should have really my partner is Hungarian and that is the family name.
  4. @Danoidcould you explain what you mean about ECO bringing the rears to life? Do you mean it will have the rear brakes applying going down hill?
  5. Welcome to the forum. You have both the cars have you not looked underneath them to see?
  6. @MattLloyd85Do you know when the Oil & filter was last changed, miles or date and do you know if it was like 5w 40 FS so VW502 00 or maybe Long Life oil like 5w 30 FS so VW504 00 / 507 00. I would put in 5w 40 FS this time. ? How many miles has the car done?
  7. Maybe if you have the right shade of a black car to match black ones. Or the tight shade of a white car to match white ones.
  8. You might just be lucky that Skoda (VW UK) need more low emission vehicles first registered in their need to meet the Fleet Average Co2 for the UK.
  9. & when you have an e-brake that is not so easy with the rear brakes. You are supposed to be able to apply the e-brake in an emergency while moving or the passenger is as you have a heart attack or just fall asleep from boredom. It is applying the e-brake down hills, or in a multstorey car park etc. Not!
  10. @nardisWhat engine and gearbox has the car you ordered that the salesperson is just picking a timescale on for not much over 6 months?
  11. If the back side of the discs are not delamainating as some do, and the pads have meat on them then go get the engine heated up and have a run and do some spirited driving and give the brakes an Italian Tune-up. Clean off the braking surface as many a car trader does pre-sale. If the pads are shagged and the calipers sticking and the brake fluid has too much H2o in it then that is not what you want to be doing. Winter is not over, change for the new parts when the lovely warm summer is just around the corner.
  12. @mpm222 Where did you find that chart of prices? That will not be the labour charge @ Victoria Garage Maud if you go there with your Skoda or any car for work. http://victoriagarage-maud.co.uk Is it even the hourly rate at Skoda Aberdeen, part of the John Clark Motor Group. http://john-clark.co.uk/skoda
  13. As well to change those discs when you are stripping down and cleaning up those calipers and servicing and doing a brake fluid change and new pads since it is you doing it. Parts only no labour cost.
  14. @PreviouslyrobygerrardWhat was the decision, just leave it? With this it might be me up the wrong dreel. (Scottish language, a drill of potatoes) The car might have a 1.5 TSI and not a 1.5 TSI ACT and that is a different price. But then i do not know if the VW T-Roc did get a 1.5 TSI that did not have Active Cylinder Technology. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474472-cam-belt-the-truth/page/2
  15. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507544-cam-belt-for-15-tsi-in-east-kent Others that have already had a timing belt replaced on a 1.5 TSI ACT could say how much they paid, and also those that went with the belt and water pump. Saying what it cost with some other engine matters not one little bit.
  16. So a 2.0 TDI and cam belt & water pump change is a totally different job from a 1.5 TSI ACT, which is a different job from a 1.4 TSI, a 1.5 TSI or even a 1.0TSI. @ords The price in the link is good, but anyone checking must remember to go to the 1.5 TSI ACT for the price if that is what they have. So £694 they show. The Service Desk staff & their Managers and the Dealer Principals needs to be getting their heads together with their Master Techs. It can not be for the next months and years just 'Pick a number any number' and tell them that is what Skoda / VW / SEAT / Audi says. There are parts and labour & VAT to be charged and it is not supposed to be a goose and a golden egg situation. As to the Service / replacement interval. that discussion will go on forever. The price and the range of prices being quoted on a 1.5 TSI ACT is ridiculous. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510301-15-tsi-timing-belt-interval VW Dealership Desk Staff are not any better trained or qualified than at a Skoda, SEAT or Audi dealership on things mechanical. They need to phone a friend or ask someone that knows just as much, and not just ask someone else that is clueless. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510188-question-re-cambelt-vw-t-roc
  17. Is it going on a Roomster? On a Mk2 Fabia there are holes inside the door jam where the pin goes in.
  18. Guest_ replied to juan27's topic in Skoda Yeti
Was the technician not prepared to do it while they were there with it on the ramp had the lights etc? Maybe best ask them how easy. ? Were they able to actually come up with a price of a fix? @Crashermight know or @ApertureS
  19. Stuff paying this to use one of their 22 or 50 kW chargers.
  20. @MATT0693 is that your 2.0 TDI from 2016 and not a newer 1.6 TDI in a Karoq which Skoda discontinued?
  21. Wet interiors from Kerb Side autos prepping sales cars and not having a good wet vac has been common for decades. Driving hundreds of miles using AC does not resolve the issue. Opening the doors and windows and pointing the Blown heater or putting in the paint booth was more common.
  22. Guest_ replied to cogggo's topic in Skoda Yeti
That generally can be true when you swap like for like sizes and speed / load rating. As the OE tyres are more based to being ECO.
  23. Guest_ replied to cogggo's topic in Skoda Yeti
So there are CrossClimate, CrossClimate +, CrossClimate SUV and CrossClimate 2. Then different sizes have different tread when new. It all matters when talking about comfort and comparing to tyre types of the same size. Near the tread limit for a tyres wear might not be that that comfortable anymore or much good in adverse road conditions. Possibly still preferable to a comfy summer tyre though.
  24. I tried Shell Recharge a few times 2 years back with a card and the app and never got a charger to start and that was at Shell Garages. 1 mile from me a Shell Recharge 150 kW charger has shown as 'coming soon'. That has been for about 18 months. The map shows it at the Shell Filling station across the road from the Kia Dealership (It was also Vauxhall, and owned by the same family with the filling station). Less than 100 yards from the Lidl to 1 side & Aldi to the other. The fastest / reliable charger is a 50 kW charger in the town are 2 InstaVolt that i never see getting used. I have twice used it, once when first installed and another time when it was the only Rapid working within 10 miles. No 100+ kW public chargers anyplace near. ................. I am surprised that a big Shell filling station with a Greggs & owned by EG Group out at the A90, this is next to KFC, McD, Marston, Statrbucks has not put in Super Fast Chargers even though the Council charging hub with 50 kW chargers is less than 200 yards away. They are anything but Rapid or reliable.
