  1. What engines is that. A 1.0 TSI? Is that the quote on you telling them that or the person checking using your reg / vin,? And timing belt only and tensioner, not including the water pump replaced?
  2. 3rd is good in the world of spin it is ahead of 4th.. Skoda are not a volume car manufacturer, and as important as the Indian market and manufacturing is they are not exactly concerned about lower emissions. So the Enyaq will get publicity, VW / Skoda need Low emission vehicle first registrations in the EU and in the UK though, and the world regions that care not about the WLTP will get along just fine with the emissions of VW Group vehicles for a few years more. http://www.best-selling-cars.com/brands/2022-full-year-global-skoda-worldwide-car-sales-by-model-and-country
  3. Sounds like the fog lights will be good in fog then when visibility is less than 100 metres, help you see the side of the road, not shine back on you like full beam on does, and others might see you better with sidelight, dipped beam and fog lights. As to the headlights and dipped and full beam that will need a bulb change to maybe get more lighting.
  4. The issue was / is the security of the attachment, the sister brands and models with the same engines are part of the Safety Critical Recall. Biggest car manufacturer in the world until caught cheating and can not organise a pi55 up in a brewery, or a recall of parts and timely design & manufacturing of replacements because they are not being pushed to.
  5. Perth & Kinross Council introduce 35 pence a kWh on 50 kW chargers and in the likes of Auchterarder those locals / business owners are no longer parked for hours on the chargers even overnight no longer charging. The £10 overstay for going over seems to not bother some though. They are charging at home again where it might be a few pence or many pence cheaper. I was speaking to a Taycan Owner that had been staying at Gleneagles & was now trying to start a Tesco Charger, they had just had their car taken away the night before and charged for them and they knew not where or using what chargers. Nice, Concierge Service. http://zap-map.com/location/6yp2xr7/ Not much use if there are quite a few of the hotel of resort guests needing charged up quick. Then there is the Railway Station 7 kW or Auchterarder chargers. Just as well there is Superchargers and High speed charging in Perth. Less are using Tesco chargers around here logged in where 28 pence might be more than their home tariff, maybe off peak and more than the Angus Council Chargers, 7,22 or 50 kW at only 23 pence presently. PS Road Testing a used Renault Clio Self charge Hybrid tomorrow as there happens to be one available 200 yards from where i was going to be anyway. Really just to see if i fit in it. No heated steering wheel or seats with them and the Capture version is supposedly less efficient but maybe more suitable interior size wise. Not looking to buy this 195 mile car, or ever have a black car again, but interested to see just how it feels and if it can be on a short list for a car to get from Motability.
  6. @ffvrsFortunately you have the car, have been issued with the advice, so you can try it. See if you can get that corrosion gone on the rear discs with light braking applying the pads to the discs. Not just clearing some cosmetic rust as a Skoda might get parked a few hours or overnight, or after a car wash. The only difference of a DSG 6 or 7 wet clutch DSG or any DQ200 cars and a petrol or diesel engines with be 'modes' and if the car does have ECO, and if 'Coasting' is enabled and if it is a car that has to be in ECO to have Coasting. It helps when people say what engine, gearbox they have and what age of car. Not all are the same. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456858-eco-mode-coasting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/437857-making-the-most-of-eco-and-coasting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502329-coasting-in-eco http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476144-problems-with-eco-drive-coasting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494047-coasting
  7. @Danoid When you are Coasting and you touch / dab the brake or touch the accelerator the DSG engages gears again. Then you can go back coasting when no load on the engine. What engine and DSG has your car got? I have only one foot, and have driven many DSG vehicles since 2009, i virtually never use the brake pedal even on hill roads in Scotland & my own cars discs are usually red with rust from no use. I use coasting lots and i hypermile. Coasting does not require more use of the brakes or gives the rear brakes more use.
  8. Welcome. @Carlston will be able to help when he sees this. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509941-tyres-again-7j-or-75j
  9. Really the low km covered in the 12 months might have had some change the oil @ 12 months even though it was set on variable servicing. If the car had been on fixed servicing the oil @ filter change is in 12 months / 15,000 km / 9,400 miles. So yours was and is on variable which is 24 months / and up to 30,000 km.
  10. VW Group / Skoda said they were replacing them. They even put it in writing. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502882-vrs-engine-recall/page/4
  11. Some owners have had brake pads replaced, but that might not apply to your car or the brakes, The kangerooing was supposedly dealt with with software updates and should not have continued to the time of your build. ? When is the next oil change due. (when was that last done if it was at 1,600 km ?) Is it not about now if getting on for 2 years 16,5000 miles?
  12. Personally i think you are wrong to accept such a new car behaving like that. Really it should be into an Authorised Repairer / Main Dealers and issues addressed. It need not run badly on start up. The brakes need a bit of servicing, or those pads replaced if there is a TPI covering them.
  13. PS I see now. ? Is the car running OK now? Best check if the car is due any software updates. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507885-issues-with-skoda-octavia-2021-combi-15-tsi
  14. How old is the car then, is it the end of a 2 year warranty? In the UK the warranty is 3 years. Saying how many km done will assist a bit, and what has previously been done, then what engine and gear box. There is not much servicing gets done @ 2 years or even 3. But then the miles / km and usage matters.
  15. Have the MOT done in the month before the car is 3 years old. You will get a MOT for 13 months. I would get the servicing done at an independent if there is a good one you can go to, and before the MOT. If there is something that is wrong and that a Manufacturers Warranty might cover you can try and get the car booked into a Main Dealers.
  16. The mods need to move your posts if you put them here rather than in the Octavia Mk2 section.
  17. Others will be able to help with the Code Logged. Maybe that is historic. Have you cleared it now? Have you looked at the air filter, seen there is one, replaced it if dirty. Check the airbox is closed tight, the intake pipes and joints are all tight, and generally around the engine. Have you taken the spark plugs out yet and inspected and checked closely checked the gap, or replaced?
  18. Just got an email from BP Pulse, as i was moaning about the cost of charging, so not surprising as i am often. Cheaper is nice, but still too much as far as i am concerned.
  19. That overstay issues has been happening at some charger locations. It is all a bit of a balls up... Even with a EV that only costs me £63 a week (that is going to £71) and with all the miles i have done at no cost i have now decided that it will be a PHEV that i am ordering in March as the EV will go back. I will get cheap local miles on electric and pay fuel on longer trip. Just now if i pay 35 pence a kWh for 40 kWh that is £14.00. 3 x 40 kWh is 120 Miles. so a bit less than the cost of a 60 mpg ICE. Electric and fuel prices will rise, but the electric charging network of public charging is going to be much higher. Even an efficient 4 mile per kWh is not worth it for me. Glad i tried it while it was still fun and much Cheapness. PS. I will research the most efficient ICE vehicles that might suit me comfort wise. The 2.0 TDI SCR DSG 115ps Golf i had on loan was comfortable and amazingly cheap on fuel, but the lack of buttons and the terrible touch screen was terrible. ........ Must try one of these Renault kidologys. Full Hybrid without a plug. Self Charge. ???? Years ago i rolled my new 1996 3 door Corsa 1.4 Auto when the gearbox oil was spraying all under the car, and the AA took me 80 miles to Edinburgh to get an auto courtesy car and i loved that Clio 1.6 Auto. Pity after i got home i was ill with concussion for days. Lucky it never happened while i was driving.
  20. ^^^ Then you have the likes of this in Central Scotland at the Largest Charging Hub. 3 50 kW rapids there and a 40 minutes max charge time. This is the Electric A9. What is needed now is many more Commercial Chargers between the Border in the South & Perth. Perth has a choice now but then at tariffs that mean for private users that need public charging a petrol or diesel car can be more practical and economical. Perth & Kinross Council 50 kW chargers are also 35 pence a kW hour, but there is a 60 minutes max charge time and a £10 overstay charge. ***At least there are Tesla Superchargers around, not used by many Tesla owners a Free or 35 pence a kWh appeals more. Issue is where they do just plug in and leave them for hours so a time penalty was necessary around Scotland and CPS chargers.***
  21. Tariffs started today 1st February 2023 awith Stirling Council EV chargers & max charge time with penalties at Stirling Castle View Park and ride.
  22. Charge Place Scotland chargers owned by different people and started with a RFID card do not know what vehicle is being charged so if there are Restriction on max charging time, how soon you can return then people, partners, any house hold members, business etc can register in different names / bank accounts, pay £10 for a card and stop the charge on one card and start on another. Same with an Account and using an app, go from one account or phone and start with another.
  23. Best get that new oil and filter and get the oil hot / warm in the engine and do the oil and filter change. Was the oil that is in at a high enough place on the dipstick when checked cold or when hot? Where is it now on the dipstick?
  24. Stirling Castle view park and ride. Probably other Stirling council chargers. On the 3 x 50 and 22kw chargers. 40 minutes max charge time. £1 a minute overstay to a maximum £60. No return within 90 minutes. Personally this is a problem and issue for me. In 40 minutes i am lucky on these chargers if i get 80 miles worth of range with the 25 kWh or so i get in. That means to do the rest of my journey to get to a charger i need to do another charge and come off my route to do so. Same if heading home, i get just enough to get home if the weather is not that cold or there are diversions, otherwise again i need to do a stop someplace. 60 minutes would have been fine, 40 minutes OK if the chargers charged at the speed that good ones can. Even an e-Volt charger identical to these at different locations.
