  1. not with the kPa. As to PSI / bar, there are many that understand neither or ether, or even any of the 3.,
  2. @Smart ProYou quoted my reply to @DEL80Yabout the sidewall of CrossClimates and softness & hence the steering. So the sidewalls of the Cross Climate are not necessarily softer than the summer tyres. I have had Cross Clomate and Cross Climate on cars that have had Summer Tyres on and it matters not if in the north south east or west, you have to take into account what the summers were but they were on 18" rims so lower profile and nor width was posted in the answers. My Corsa Electric came on Michelin Primacy 205/45 R 17', total crap, went onto Michelin CrossClimate +, then Michelin Alpin 6's were on and changed recently for Riken Snow tyres. All were and are 205/45 R 17. As to Sidewall softness that would be the Alpin 6 which i wrecked, as to handling over 30,000 miles they were the best even in the past hot summer. But then there is almost no sidewall.
  3. @UrbanPanzermight be able to help with what you require to do with the conversion to get the full beam flash. There is a thread about with someone else that did as you have had had the same issue.
  4. @Arold10are you meaning that the headlight does not crack if hit by a stone? Use 3M clear protection film on them if that is what you are talking about.
  5. @Caj109 Just like this. OK as long as the stuff has been put on the system.
  6. To a small engine 250 max Nm Skoda. They do not have the DQ200 fitted to a Kodiaq other than the 1.4 TSI pre 1.5 TSI ACT. Or a 1.4 TSI PHEV Octavia or Superb..
  7. @Smart Pro With all due respect it will make all the difference with the Profile of them. The OP will not be fitting the tyre size / profile you had on the Porsche. Or i have on my 4x4. & went narrower from 285's to 265 with the Cross Climate, but then they are SUV XL's (Reinforced) as i also have on my Suzuki with 16 " Rims. UK NSL so real world and actual winter weather then the Porsche does handle better if it does not get stuck and need towing out.
  8. @rumburake Good news. Just fingers crossed. It saves you money. I would avoid that place for getting work done or no work.... If the car is not a keeper or you have a warranty & the timing belt is covered & you have what you were told in writing. They are right. The Timing Belt is for life. When it fails it will be the end of it's life. Maybe they can say how long the life of the tensioner and bearing might be. They are correct on the DQ200 DSG. Which is good at least. Just as long as they do not tell the same to those with a DQ381. Some are told it is a dry clutch DSG. Those with a Kodiaq 1.5 TSI or a AWD car wit that engine will have a DQ381..
  9. The Extended Warranty is essential. For anyone looking @ the Service Package that does not include a DSG Oil Service on a DQ381 at 80,000 miles or sooner, or the Haldex @ 3 years /30.000 miles or Brake Fluid Change each 2 years after 3 years or anything else not included needs to check out how much the extras are going to cost them. If a 1.5 TSI ACT engine the cost of the Cam (timing) belt replacement might shock them.
  10. I contacted Angus Council about the newest charger in Forfar and the temp barriers and contractors that were looking at it the other day to see about some reel for the charger cables. Seemingly this charger is here designed to be user friendly for the disabled. That is why there is a dropped kerb. So today someone called me from the council roads department. What a breath of fresh air. A EV driver. I told him I am disabled but not a wheel chair user and really the Planner/ techs and council boss need to get a wheel chair or a wheel chair user and come try using this charger.. I think there might be some discussions taking part. Including proper signage. Months on from being turned on and the longest cables fitted. Pics going off to the Council Leader and to the various local councillors. Maybe the next time they are in the area they can look at how the spend public money badly, and then have to correct their mistakes at more expense. Bottom pic from my post on the 3rd September, So 6 months since the charger was powered up and the Line Painters failed to put Electric Vehicle Charging Only on the bays.
  11. Other manufacturers with Battery / Chip issues have decided to concentrate in getting Electrified vehicles out. So more small battery Mild or PHEV using maybe only 20% or less of the cells in a battery pack. Keep the vehicles being produced and out to customers and paid for. VW Group are using partners to produce the Electrified cars or EV's for them to meet the EU or UK Fleet Averages and it requires them to get their vehicles build and first registered or VW can not get the Average figures required.
  12. When the Manufacturers do not Type Approve and give weights for a vehicle towing so that it can not legally tow that has never meant a Tow Bar / Ball can not be fitted for fitting a Bike Carrying Rack, a Luggage Box or what ever. It does not even invalidate a vehicles manufacturers warranty fitting a Cycle Carrier Device. Towing with this device on a Public Road will be illegal if the vehicle is not allowed to. Various Skoda Models can not have a Tow Bar fitted for towing going back to Mk1 Fabia vRS & Mk2 vRS Hatch or Estates right up to recent Octavia & Superb or Kodiaq not plated with the weights. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/429261-dont-buy-a-20178-150ps-4wd-man-7-seat-if-you-tow As to £60 an hour on diagnostics. The Skoda Fixed Price Menu & Participating dealers are £60 for the first 30 minutes. Some quote £120 an hour. But then not an issue in Warranty with a Faulty DSG. Pay them the money if needs must. Get that back when Skoda / VW are paying for the repair. 2 hours diagnostics are not necessary for a DQ381 DSG with the issues they are having. If the Tech is putting 2 hours as their time on the vehicle doing a diagnosis there is something very wrong going on there.
  13. The Haldex Controller and water / corrosion can be an issue. Different code. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509874-haldex-controller-fault-02248
  14. More like 8 name changes actually. Usually when there are others with similar names appearing on this or other forums. Happy to be ignored by whoever chooses to. Usually the ones who are there with a little dig more than occasionally. The ones with a faulty ignore button.
  15. Interesting used prices if you have the right car.
  16. They are doing a Sporty Smaller one just like a Golf but not a Golf and not just a I.D.3. Unless they can get batteries and chips it will be just like all the other models they spin and might sometime appear and need software updates as over the time they talked about it they never actually bothered sorting things. Vorsprung durch technik. Talk is cheap, cars are expensive. Fines are nae bother to us, just reduce Service Schedules from 3 to 2 years on things that last generation were 3 years. eg, the VAQ service & Brake Fluid.
  17. The Haldex service guidelines, recommendation & even schedule is given in the UK as 30,000 miles / 3 years in the UK and has been so for over a decade.
  18. If VW Group can not get the Fleet Average co2 in the UK where they need it to be then there will be lots of vehicles / drive trains that will not be getting imported and registered in the UK. They need many more electrified vehicles and full EV's first registered to ensure they are not going to pay a penalty on every vehicle the register in the UK. The partners from other manufacturers are the same as VW Group in not getting enough Full EV's into the UK to assist VW Group on the Fleet Average kidology. I thought the Up! GTI was a real drivers car in a country with a max speed limit of 70 mph and on real Drivers roads just 60 mph max.
  19. & the UK MOT requirement is a Rear Fog Light Offside or Centre. Not sure why it gets just a 'Minor' But then plenty cars from outside the UK are going about in the fog with a nearside only fog or even no rear fog on just like UK cars..
  20. The 1.0TSI just requires the use of the simple tool, and knowing what is required. Not complicated or difficult. Plenty of those due a cam belt replacement. There are eve those that mess up the 1.2 TSI Cambelts Euro 6, due replacement before 1.0TSI Euro 6. http://mechanexpert.com/timing-belt-replacement-on-mk7-golf-1-0-tsi
  21. The Extended Scope is repeating what shows with Inspection Oil Changes. Get an Independent to service it with stuff needing done when it needs doing. After this lot have it service up to date before hand over. Others might help. I know nothing about these. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486749-octy-vrs-buying-tips http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466236-bit-of-clarity-around-variations http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/453566-vrs-230-tsi-2016-manual-differential-fluid-change
  22. Could you and the Son in Law not do it? ? Is here any record of it being done ever?
  23. @Caj109 I do not know anything about the 2017 manual and if it has a VAQ Diff. Front. If it has then the Servicing is @ 3 years / 30,000 miles, so was due in 2020 and now in 2023. Others can maybe tell you, or erWin. PS The thing with that Chart and other. That is fixed service regime. So if on Variable / Flexible it is not working out. Maybe first service a 24 months / 18,000 -20.000miles. Then MOT at 3 years, maybe a service, maybe not. So see what the FSH shows. Then ask more about stuff. The Service Folder of loose leaf info often gets binned. 2021, sort of helped. then 2022 is in the website.
  24. @Caj109 Is it a Skoda Approved used car then? Advertised with a FSH or FMDSH, just maybe a history of not serviced exactly to the Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendation or even Schedule. Not that the Manufacturers tell owners much of what actually they recommend or are actual schedules.
