  1. That is very different. It is not the Volkswagen Groups policy to have drivers ignore warnings. This is a Dealership you are talking to Their employees error. They can pay to have your car serviced in September then for being useless. Or just reset it now and give you a discount at the next service. You would think this is not their full time job and they service hundreds of cars a year. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452545-resetting-service-indicator http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/450115-reset-service-message-fabia-3 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480144-resetting-inspection-warning--on-66-plate-y17-fabia
  2. @Harriesif the tyres on now are ditchfinders have you st least got them at a sensible pressure and not high as in near that for ECO, ie less grip / traction to give better mpg.
  3. Plenty threads ask the same question over the years. I thought that possibly since the Mk2 was launched pre Sept 2009 there might have been some diesels without a PDF. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/338495-looking-at-fabia-19-tdi-pd-how-new-can-i-go-without-dpf
  4. Surely it can live up to the hopes, wishes and needs of an efficient EV. Time will tell on real trips with the car loaded and in cold weather.
  5. If it is the 1.6 TDI then i guess when they were fitted to MK2's they had a DPF as after 2009. As to other engines like the 1.2 TDI i suspect they had a DPF as they were part of the Defeat Device Scandal. No idea if there were any TDI's that were fitted to the first Mk2's without a DPF. But someone will be along that knows about 1.9 TDI's & 1.4 TDI's.
  6. I thought the OP's concern was that the light then stayed on. Now i can see what their car is and it is a 1.2 TSI DSG Estate. Once the issue is sorted if it is the light staying on and not just flashing when the wheels / tyres are spinning, then maybe better tyres getting fitted will be a good move.
  7. @Softie42 You are generalising. All do not do as some do. Sorry but failing to see what your issue is. Service your car or not as you like. The car might have been built months before the PDI and might have been in the Showroom for 3 months before it was First Registered before a quarter was up. Skoda Approved Used cars are supposed to undergo Safety Checks. As set out in the Skoda Approved Car blurb. Main Dealers might well service cars before the Warranty if there are outstanding Service Items, such as Brake Fluid Changes, maybe DSG if it is a car that requires DSG Oil Changes, Haldex etc. Cars might be from Motability bought from BCA , these are MOT'd up to 3 months before handback. and will have been serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations as they are not called a Schedule just Guideline or recommendations. *Ex Motability cars bought in might have had the MOT 3 months previously and might sit for sale for months then get another MOT before being handed over the a new buyer. So 2 MOTs done and only 3 1/2 years old.* The Service indicator changes in the form of Fixed or Variable. Your VW Agent maybe can not do things or tells you they can not. A smart cookie with the Gear and stuff between the years can plug in and do all sorts. But Licensed equipment and VW Group trained techs are not going to be changing things other from what they are allowed to. That does not mean they can not do their car or a mates. Hacking is the Issue, Clocking cars back, (Clocking forward to con the HMRC that they are used.) making false Service Records. It was easy with Paper Service Books, and some Dealers do actually put a 'Oil & Filter Service' or Major Service on the computerised system and maybe no Service was done. That is Fraud really and it is not unkown that they can be caught out. There are Threads on this very Forum in General Automotive Chat about 'Skoda Approved Cars' that are supposedly with FMDSH and the History is of not Serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations, or not even stuff done that should allow them to have a Skoda Approved Warranty.
  8. @Gazthe ATS Euromaster website / booking even a call to the local centre can show or get a price totally different from that you might get standing at the Reception Desk and the person checking their screen, calling to see if actually available and when, and the Fitted Price they give.
  9. Brand new MY22 4th Generation Fabia which can be had in Graphite Grey are not facelifted. Different platforms. They make a right mix up in the configurators as usual, putting under 'Sold Colours' & putting 'metallic graphite grey'. (Something that happened back when there was Meteor Grey introduced and the same Solid Grey was called Steel Grey, on some models this was the 'Special paint' but showed as 'Metallic'.) There was Steel Grey metallic, there was Meteor Grey / Steel Grey Solid.
  10. Motorway at 70 mph accurate with CC on will not improve as you get used to the car, especially when the weather gets cooler. EV,s at 70 on the CC and doing 67mph seems to be so very common these days. Adding actual passengers to the car and driving at the same speed at the same ambient temp will not improve the efficiency. Inflating the tyres and compromising the traction might. An AWD car and appropriate winter or All weather tyres fitted and the efficiency then is going to be worth seeing.
  11. Since it is bare metal and not just happened I would be touching that with a little rust inhibitor before the paint is put on with a cocktail stick or what ever applicator is chosen.
  12. Welcome, If you ask your village mechanic and they have not got the gear and more than an idea they should tell you who to go to. When was the car last serviced/ brakes serviced? You would hope a village mechanic would have a code reader, a knowledge of VW Group cars and an inspection ramp and light.
  13. There is no shortage of providers of very good and well priced Breakdown / recovery services in the UK. Always worth knowing if your Bank Account has cover for you. Some have lots of cover with maybe more than one person in a household with an account that gives cover.
  14. PS. MOT dates can change as in each time a dealership or trader sells a car they might put it through a MOT and the owner gets a new MOT. Servicing will still show by miles or time since the last service if the person doing it can reset a Service Indicator. It is not uncommon for people not knowing how to or being able to when the service interval is on variable / flexible.
  15. Welcome. If Warranties do not interest you or apply you can just Reset the Service / Oil & Filter change Indicator as though a Service has been done. So if on Fixed Services and reset it will show due in another 372 days / 9,400 miles, whichever comes first. Someone here will tell you how to reset the Service indicator for another year. Keep your own record of when you want to do servicing & Maintenance. Do it before MOT's if that suits you. That is a sensible time to, or even pre winter which is soon. Do not expect Main Dealerships to reset Service Indicators if no Service is being done. Be that to Fixed or Variable. They should not be doing that. If they are then that is their business but it makes a joke of FMDSH. But already they are as often a record of how little gets done unless customers are paying extra over and above Oil and inspection serviced as and extended scope.

Reading the articles in the UK media it seamed unbelievable that drivers could be confused if they had actually looked at what had been said about E10 being introduced to the UK in 2021. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-58398606 Nonsense headline from the BBC on a quarter being 'baffled'. 'But according to the RAC, 24% were unaware of it while 27% do not know if their car is compatible'. That could only be 27% of those that were aware as those unaware could not be baffled until made aware. THE RAC IS NOT THAT HELPFUL ON ASSISTING PEOPLES KNOWLEDGE OR AWARENESS BUT THEN THEY ARE A BUSINESS NOT A 'CLUB'. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-57585105
  17. & with just a driver in Mid UK Summer. It really shows anything that is given from the WLTP is just rediculous. Taking it on a Ski-ing holiday with friends or family in the car & gear might need to be restricted to going to Tamworth.
  18. It will be good to see a very experienced EV drivers opinion on his own vehicle. Looking forward to what the boss has to say about it but it was nice that she let him get what he wanted.

@Fran57 Have you tried switching on the rear fog light when reversing to see if that helps any, as long as nobody coming along towards you ?
  20. You can find that ATS Euromaster if you call in to a branch might be able to get in Michelin tyres that you want and fit them and beat a Price you get online from Black Circles to have supplied and fitted at ATS Euromaster or another fitting centre. Michelin own ATS Euromaster & BlackCircle..
  21. @Camarao69What do you mean with 'denying you the rims', are you just asking them if you can fit them or trying to buy them from a Skoda Dealership? If they are allowed in your country and your insurer will cover you with them fitted just buy them. If your laws / legislation does not allow them then do not. It is not as though the 19"rims with appropriate tyres do not fit on your car.
  22. It is something common across VW Group Models with stop / start. Perhaps just not something that applies to a small minority since 2016.
  23. The change is to make the cars more friendly to the environment or at least to appear so under tests. Difference is also with 'Autohold' and Autohold enabled is that this is actioned when the brake pedal is pressed harder. Just a Light press of the brake pedal and Autohold does not then come on.
  24. I really like these & my son has one now. Luckily not this one.
  25. @domhnall Great. What was the actual distance (miles) travelled from starting off and you with 98% & the Ionity on 100% until you started charging when at Gretna @ 62% & 62% ? Can you say what range was each car showing when you arrived @ Gretna? 58 X 3.5 = 203 .................................................. My e-Corsa gets about 3-3.1 miles per kWh at 70 mph with Winter Tyres on & roof bars and 2 people in it. 135 ish Miles range. This is not great with only a 45 kW usable battery, but then it does mean the battery is pretty low after 120 miles and the charging speed on a good charger is pretty fast up to and just over 90% if there is no need to get a full charge to get another 120 miles plus before charging. If you are doing more than that it is a PITA. More so with a 50kWH charger doing not better than a 22 / 25 kWh charger. 3.7 miles per kWh @ 60 mph. 165 ish range. 45- 50 mph average is about 4 miles per kWh so 180 miles possible.
