  1. When checked it will be obvious that the Speedo is over reading now, so the speedo might become nearer accurate with the slightly bigger circumference / total radius tyres fitted, and it is easy to check if it is and not under reading.
  2. Snow chains certainly do not have to be fitted only to the front of a vehicle with Haldex. Read the owners manual. It is a font of knowledge. Beware of duff advice that might be on social media from people you do not know. Beware of advice given that is just from an Owners Manual. See page 282. Also read about TC off when snow chains fitted where that might be in an owners manual. *Especially VW group owners manuals.* Best sometimes to question what is in the owners manuals. Especially Re snow chains fitted to AWD vehicles. 4x4,s. If you have ever had to drive in serious conditions with snow chains just on the front of a part time AWD vehicle you might well know to ignore Skoda / VW advice / recommendations. 3. The OP has another thread running. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488385-how-much-have-you-paid-for-dsg-service-dq380381-7-speed-wet-or-cambelt-change
  4. @James@RRG_Skoda_Rochdale Do you have the DQ381 DSG's as scheduled at 80,000 miles for oil changes? EDIT. I have seen your post now in the other thread and your advice. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482244-dq381-service-intervals http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488367-service-costs-independent-v-dealer
  5. On the A93. Blairgowrie / Braemar passing through the Glenshee Ski Centre.
  6. Love this 911 and on the A93 which is a perfect road for it or the perfect car for the road.. (Route for Blairgowrie / Braemar passing through the Glenshee Ski centre.) What a load of guff really. You can drive the A93 when the road is dry in any car with not much power and FWD or RWD or AWD and tyres that are not bald and get around the bends (60 mph NSL & maybe a bit more) as quick as the 911 is going in the video while staying on your own side of the road. On the twisty bits you need to be ready for sheep, photographers, walkers, cyclists or other road users on your side of the road while wondering about, talking, looking or making videos.
  7. @grandmastero Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you get all dried out OK. Just a wee point. Fords are marked on maps and flooded bits of the roads are not. I have driven through several flooded roads since August in my EV totally problem free luckily, while watching cars follow me and not make it. The other thing that can be rather dangerous is coming to a flooded road, stopping, assessing driving across and straddling where the white line is so the crest of the road and then driving on only for some muppet to come driving fast towards you when you are not yet out of the water yet or on your own side of the road.
  8. The Skoda Citigo IV that was trailed for long enough and is now discontinued but is still available around the UK should have had the charging cables, charging available and software and software updates sorted out before delivery and quickly after the 'issues' reared their heads. 'Simply Clever' is a term that seems lost on Skoda. They need not only to be Simply Clever, they need to be a bit quicker dealing with issues and have the parent company deal with them as well. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486062-citigoe-iv-ambition-se-charging-at-72kwhr http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483719-any-citigo-e-iv-users

@AMD87 The 'haha' might be best explained. You are not running the car original 1.6 TDI CR anymore with a map are you? That engine became a dead parrot eventually, maybe after loads of smiles per miles though.
  10. @john999boy I expect you are right. I use 3 devices and maybe only one is logged in at any one time. Sometimes some or all are.
  11. @Carlston When 'quoting' please use the whole line you are quoting rather than just the first part of a line as you did here.
  12. @Carlston Have you actually driven a Fabia on 17" wheels? The OEM size is 205/40 R 17 in the EU. In Australia the Monte Carlo's came on 16" rims. **Front discs are not about 312mm on a Mk2 Fabia vRS unless they have been upgraded, they are 288mm.** The Standard spare wheel that comes with the cars is 195/55 R15. or 185/60 R15. & Are you saying that if you have not fitted winter or all season tyres by now then do not bother just wait until next summer? If you have not bought when the demand is not high then people might buy when they need things. It has been a mild winter so far in much of the UK. I likely got a good deal on the Alpin 6 in 205/45 R 17's due to them being among the last in stock. (others might have in Stock) Supplied by ATS Euro master who is owned by Michelin the same as BlackCircle are. You list the sizes for 15,16 & 17's. People need to be aware that Mk2 Fabias did not come with 205/45 R 17 tyres from the factory. The size that VW, SEAT and Audi put on the Sister Cars to the Fabia Mk2 vRS 1,.4 TSI 132 kW Twincharger was 215/40 R17 while the Fabia got 205/40 R 17. So same power with engines and drivetrains, same DQ200 DSG, same suspension and brakes on the Euro 5 1.4 TSI / TFSI VW Polo GTI, Seat Ibiza Cupra & Audi A1 195 ps. So when i say the 205/45 R 17 would suit the Fabia's that come on 17's that is because they do and members here have used them as well as 215/40 R 17's in winter, and spring , summer and autumn. Not everyone wants to go smaller alloy or steel wheels on their cars. They might want just a little more rubber on the rims, or on the road. Actually the 205/45 R 17 or 215/40 R 17 have the speedo a little more accurate but still over reading on a vRS / Monte Carlo. Battery in the boot of the Polo, ballast weights added on the rear crash bar of the Fabia, wider tyres on the VW / Seat.
  13. Been up to Aberdeen and back and there is an ickle snow about and as usual drivers that every winter look like they have never driven on snow ever are about, up your jacksy, no lights on and wheel spinning away from junctions. You would think by now that most Aberdonians buying a prestige AWD would have caught on that they come with summer tyres.
  14. So the 40,000 mile DSG service was done as per the Manufacturers guidelines. Was that a Major service also carried out then? ? Has the car been at a Skoda Dealership since then for a Service, *When was that DSG Service & do you have the Invoice / receipt ?* and what miles / age was the Service done at an Independent? ? Was that 40,000 mile DSG Service the only time that the DSG has been touched by anyone other than you driving the car?
  15. I have them on a Vauxhall e-Corsa so not a Skoda. So i have used them on heavily flooded roads and just wet ones, and on wet snow and fresh fluffy snow. Last night & this morning on icy roads that have had no salting (gritting), and they were very good, that is with me driving to the conditions. I can highly recommend them. The size i have is 205/45 R 17 which could suit Fabia's like Mk2 Monte Carlo / vRS which have a OEM size of 205/40 R 17. or Mk3's on 17" rims. Other sizes are very likely to be equally as competent, i see no reason why they would not be. (I have CrossClimates + on wheels that i can put on in Summer, i have used CrossClimates on Fabias in past winters.) I have CrossClimate SUV's on my Shogun which are good.
  16. The Skoda UK Fixed Price Service & Maintenance prices published are on cars. 3-10 years old, & at Participating Dealers, and Dealers can charge less, and can charge more. Now Oil & Inspection Service and extended Scope each 3 years. But some still quote on Minor / Interim Services and Major Services. https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price Best ask what is actually getting done, and what parts will be replaced and that you will be paying for. Are wheels really coming off? Only visible belts are being inspected. Is the Haldex actually having the screen cleaned? Is that Body Inspection all that Skoda UK require for the Corrosion Warranty? (The warranty T&C.s do not say Body Inspections required in the 10 years.)
  17. Part 2 tonight at 8.00 pm after 'On the road'. Hopefully better than last nights which was at least 45 minutes longer than it needed to be to IMO. A car manufacturer has a web page telling you that their car won EVO COTY 2020. PS As for On the road. ? What is with Tiff and whoever walking away from the cars they have just been driving in. But then what a load of guff with their drag races.
  18. It is, but anything you read about 38.2 mph was tests of a vehicle on a rolling road inside a building. Nobody but you knows where you drive, how fast you drive and how far you drive at any one time. If you get an average 29 mpg then sometime you must get very low mpg and sometimes higher to have that average.
  19. @Squaddie1980 Welcome to the forum. Is that actually just 252 miles you can travel for 10 gallons / 45.5 litres or so used? Is that going on longer runs with yourself and passengers and stuff in the car in the UK?
  20. @shyVRS245 Ah but! They were / are supposedly 'Amateur' sports people who were getting funded by 'Lottery money' and grants / funding to Associations. But then Sir Andy Murray is a relatively young & currently a Professional. Sir Bradley Wiggins. Former Professional. Sir Nick Faldo Professional. & many others in Professional Sport get honours.
  21. Norfolk is a big area, but someone near to you with all the gear and a knowledge of how to use it might be able to help if you narrow down a bit where you are.
