  1. @Scot5 You 'quoted' / used a screenshot of the VW Service Menu that was for cars 3-10 years in the past and that some still use. Dealers said this did not apply to under 3 year old cars. If you are going to be an armchair expert then get with it, and do your armchair research. You have the cars, had ones before, surely you know what Skoda Services got you and when. Where did the Air Filter gets changed every 2 years came from. That was after the first Main Service. 4 years or 40,000 miles, some even said at 60,000 miles same as the Spark Plugs. The Spark plugs were actually at 4 years / 40,000 miles as well. Same as the DSG oil change. also Fuel filter with a diesel. First at the 2nd main service or 40,000 miles whichever came first on the Guidelines / Schedule / recommendations. Now it is when you pay to get it changed. Skoda Main Dealers certainly never changed the Airfilters in a 2 year old car when a Major Service was done and paid for. Never even looked at them. You could look yourself, change yourself, or pay to get it done, or even say you are charging for a main service so change it. The answer would be that it is not scheduled for a change at 2 years / 18,000-20,000 miles. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462800-service-plans The Pollen Filter was changed at the first 2 years then each after, unless you paid extra a annual / minor / interim services.
  2. @varaderoguy 'Probably'?, as in find one that is right hand drive and for someplace other than the UK but that will match UK spec.
  3. The Guidelines / Schedule Recommendation in the UK has been at 4 years / 40,000 miles for years now. That was at a 2nd Major Service in the old scheme of things. Nobody knows where the car is used / parked etc. City, town, country, seaside. So easy enough to check them more often and replace if needed. That should be done as a matter of course annually, bi-annually or whatever.
  4. Welcome. I can not see how a 75ps car can be dangerously slow in the UK just because there is not a turbo. Unless fully loaded and towing a trailer / caravan with a roof box fitted but then it is limited to 50mph on NSL roads. Best try one before buying one.
  5. Welcome. Is it a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG you have. I would not worry in NZ about this. The 2012 World Wide Recall excluding Europe had them eventually being eligible for a cut price Service Campaign, but the Service Campaign in NZ had the DQ200's getting new MCU's where in other Countries / World Regions it was just a oil change and software update. (Some like in China got a 100,000 mile / 10 year warranty added.) Then with the next Service Campaign started in 2017 in Europe on 2013-2015 DQ200's, this is now a Recall that is being done in Australia currently. Your 2016 car should not have issues and if there are then VW Group will likely be quicker on the ball to see you right better than they ever have in Europe where Courts / Authorities do not worry them.
  6. Which might mean a fault at the inhibitor switch not recognising that it is in N.
  7. Guest_ replied to Ryeman's topic in Electric Vehicles
  8. Is there Skoda Assist available then if just Under 3 years old ? Like on an Automatic that can only be started in P or N, or with the brake pedal pressed, there will be an inhibitor that requires the stick to be in N with the ASG.
  9. Under the UK Warranty T&C's recall actions need to be accepted and carried out. But that is safety related ones, safety critical type, or very important, not just something that the VW Group would like done. If they ****-ed up then they need to 'own it' and give 'Trust building guarantees' as they did with 'The fix'. No point causing owners the hassle and adverse affects of their tweaks. The type of RECALL or SERVICE RECALL ACTION / SERVICE CAMPAIGN that is compulsory in the UK and that could void a warranty should be appearing on the DVSA / DVLA / DfT websites in the UK and the people carrying out the work should provide the vehicles Registered Keeper with Paperwork on why and what is getting done. Provide the paper trail not just have something 'On their system'.
  10. & they went into receivership. I hope their Warranty / Guarantee came from a 3rd party. Maybe they will rise phoenix like.
  11. If not Battery related, and not Key / Battery / Immobiliser related then likely the 'N' switch immobiliser. Is the car out of Warranty & Skoda Assist cover and do you have no Breakdown / recovery cover?
  12. If you just turn on the headlights are they dim, and just go dimmer. Dead Battery. Jump leads not strong enough from the vehicle providing power to the dead battery.
  13. @tfeb Is the difference in price from them in the UK compared to other World Regions because it is with a 'Warranty' that is actually worth the paper it is written on? The Tuning Boxes used to be 3 times the price in the UK compared to others and again had a 'Warranty' on engine failures, not just on the product and leaving you to fight it out with the VW Group.
  14. You only know really when Skoda UK let the media / press know and then the cars can be ordered, even then Skoda UK configurators info needs taken with caution. http://cc.skoda-auto.com/gbr/en-GB/
  15. @J.R. You would lose that bet. Simple enough to check, just leave them sitting in the sun on a very hot day and see if there is a puddle of sealant in the bottom off the tyre.
  16. Oop north those oil changes might be twice a year for those that put in different oil in winter. Then turning the Airfilter around to the 'winter' position.
  17. @Schtum i too was a motorcyclist before and after losing my leg, and did Road Safety events with Police Motorcyclists, some of who are now dead from bike accidents. As it is i am 3 points away from another ban so i just bimble about where there are average cameras, fixed cameras and mobile vans. I certainly do not chance 79 MPH between Stirling & Perth even as others pass me well above that.
  18. Nothing new in 10% + 2mph, but you can no longer take that for granted as it is not UK wide. Police Scotland did a pilot scheme where it was not 10% +2 mph and then got the permission with a law change to vary that. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/362725-police-scotland-getting-new-powers-on-speeders-who-are-just-over-the-limit http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/454420-speed-limit-1-mph http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/452824-speeding
  19. @retro I can not see one either until i sign in and then there it is.
  20. The 1.4TDI Cooling issue thread is pinned at the top of the section. As you say the Service Campaign action should have been carried out and all should be well. Is the car coming from the dealership or a trader so that you will have your consumer rights if there should be any issues, or is the deal with it as a 'customers car'?
  21. A new sump plug is £2.
  22. The op was about the M25, but then @Avvers appears never to have come back to their thread.
