  1. This will be either a USB mode setting on the phone or it will be a power saving issue on the phone itself stopping the usb port from working.
  2. 0345 thought here.... You don't have something like a dash cam wired in do you? If it's wired into permanent live then your battery will be constantly draining. Suggest a rewire to switched live (from rear windscreen wiper fuse)....
  3. It will be the water pump going south. Sounds like a lazy dealer who hasn't read the CANBUS network faults or done a decent investigation.
  4. It will be between 1500 and 1700rpm. The 7th gear on a DQ381 is really an overdrive and this drops the engine speed to very low rpm.
  5. Err...no. that's not how the system works. If you mean is there a way of resetting the Service Interval when it warms you on your Columbus, then yes there is....no 'hack' needed. You can do this either from the car or via a VCDS /ODBEleven System.
  6. Yes, click on the link. It's an Android 10.and above thing which will auto remove permissions to camera, GPS etc if the phone feels that the app does not use them. It's a security thing. Let me know if you get past my total though!!!! ROFL.
  7. I would recommend plumbing into a switched ignition not permanent live as you will drain the car battery. The decent dash cams have a capacitive battery in them which wakes up if the car is moved or something happens. How long this battery lasts for is dependant on the device. Switch to an Ignition switched circuit is best. Recommend using the rear windscreen wiper circuit.
  8. Okay. I know that @pab567 is a busy chap, so in essence yes there are stability improvements for your Bolero. Latest version is 0480. Much improved Audio response and fixes a number of glitches around Mirrorlink/AA/AC and makes Skoda Surround work.
  9. Folks, Very unusual and specific issue I've got - and I'm not too worried if it isn't fixed (because Android Auto is sooo much better). I have retrofitted (and got correctly coded by pab567) - a native MIB2.5 Columbus to replace my MIB2.5 Amunsden. The car reports no errors on CANBUS, but try as I might, I cannot get the Columbus unit to connect to Skoda Connect. You get as far as the Columbus unit saying it is checking the backend services - and no further. I suspect one of two things is happening here; 1) My CANBUS gateway is snookered. I know there were issues with the gateway modules that dealers were fixing. Are there different gateway modules for the Amunsden and Columbus? If so, what is the correct part number for the Columbus gateway module? 2) VAG's backends are unhappy that my car's VIN has a Amunsden against it - instead of a Columbus that is presented and the back end is borking. Communication to the MIB2.5 unit from my phone is via a Wireless Hotspot. Your thoughts as always on the Reply button.
  10. Battery issues were already bad for VAG due to most Korraq's and some Kodiaks needing new batteries under warranty (2019). Supply has never really recovered. I had to replace a battery on a 2017 VRS and that set me back £250. To that end, a trickle charger is a good idea. I personally recommend an ODBC charger to plug into your ODBC2 port to keep the battery happy.
  11. Sounds like the water pump giving you its first warning. There are two stages to water pump failure. The first one is the over heating, then back to normal. You might get 2 or 3 of these if you are lucky. Then the pump will suddenly fail (second stage) - usually by completely distroying itself internally or by breaching the seal for the pump.
  12. This suggests to me that water is getting into the airbox. I am sure there should be a drain at the bottom of the air-intake....make sure this isn't blocked. Option b) - you've got an issue with the heater matrix that is leaking. What's your coolant tank doing? Is it low or emptying?
  13. What you need to do is find somebody locally with either a VCDS or ODBEleven setup. You will find VCDS owners here They can then code in the battery - we are also assuming that the battery is of the correct type (AFM/EGM) that can be coded in. You can find the procedure here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Battery_Replacement
  14. Its something that a lot of folk don't realise. For all modern VAG vehicles, if you have a car later than 2014/5, you need to code in the batteries.
  15. Yes....it's happening quite a lot. The AGM/EFM batteries are all dying due to age and lack of use because of COVID-19. The Skoda/VAG Batteries are also less than great too. You'll need to put in a new battery and update the serial number via VCDS or ODBELEVEN by one to allow the battery to start working again.
  16. Under fault status, you have 00000001 - which shows the fault has been reset once. The car may have done it (or tried to); it might not have been done manually.
  17. I would urge everyone just to make sure the spray nossles aren't blocked on the back windscreen wiper. They get *easily* blocked up with any gunk from the wash bottle or from hard water. I recommend that everyone uses decent washer fluid and/or makes sure the screen at the top of washer bottle refill is there. re: @vRSWitter - undo the jubilee clip and get a small container. Then get a friend to activate the rear washer....I suspect you will get washer fluid out....if so, it is definitely the jet blocked. If no fluid, then one of the junction pieces has popped off along the run from the pump to the rear washer.
  18. Yes....I sold the car! ROFL!!! Seriously though, yes the sludge issues went away. I think that with the EGR and DPF cleaner in the fuel and with regular oil changes, I was experiencing sludge removal on an epic scale. That's what happens when you go from a minimum servicing to being anal with the next owner. This was on a CUNA engine.
  19. Ooohhh....be careful. You have DCC. Completely different suspension setup. You will need the Scout springs with the Scout DCC raised suspension (I know it was an option on the Octavia 2019 Scouts). I saw that Skoda were doing a 2019/20 Superb Scout for the European market; back trace this model and see if they did DCC. If so, try and find the springs and DCC suspension parts to fit.
  20. BTW - do you have a 6 or 7 speed DSG? Slightly different servicing depending on the gearbox and your car was on the changeover year.
  21. If you are doing the service yourself, go to theskodashop.co.uk and order a major service kit (search Major on their shop). All genuine parts. 124.99 for all the parts you need and oil too. If you want to go to Skoda, then get a service history (printed off) and then determine what it needs. I think it is about £180 for an extended scope service.
  22. Yes they do - look at this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233409015194 Plugs into your ODBC port when you aren't using the car.
  23. Basically, the bypass coolant valve seems to be faulty and it looks like the fault has already been reset once before (either by the car or the garage), so this says to be the valve needs to be replaced. The only reference to Terminal 15 voltage signal implausible is refers to activating High Beam or Lights Assist - I would suggest that fault is not related, but keep an eye on it.
  24. Propt-shaft has thrown a balancing weight or propt bearing is failing. This happened on my husbands Octavia SE 4x4 and its ruddy annoying, although not the end of the world. Do you have any kind of warranty associated with the car? If so, get it claimed.... otherwise it will probably cost about 200-300UKP for it to be fixed.
