  1. Also true....and they don't tell you any of this when you buy the car.....
  2. Yes, so there are a couple of pointers on this. The pumps do fail very quickly if get blocked. The Haldex system is brilliant if the gauze filter is kept clean. Recommended every 20k miles for a oil change and filter. The clutch system will not engage unless you loose traction. I thought I had lost 4 wheel drive in the depths of snow a couple of winters back when I hit slushy stuff and was expecting the 4 wheel drive system to keep on going. Thats completely not the way the system works. It will firstly try and remove power first before engaging the rear clutch mechanism, if there is still a slid or lack of traction, it will then and only then engage the rear wheels.
  3. The Coolant Pump has just given you its first warning. The second warning will not be so nice - as the pump is failing. Best to get the coolant pump and timing belt changed (anywhere between £300 to £650 depending on independant/VAG specialist/Skoda dealer).
  4. No - you have to call Customer Services directly and ask them. If your dealer is a VAG dealer (Skoda/VW) then your dealer (is being lazy) as they should be able to give you an up-to-date build date and an estimated delivery date.
  5. If you have a look at this list in the VCDS section of the forum, there is a list of registered VCDS owners. Try PM'ing them and see if they are willing to help:
  6. I would also add....do a service first and see if it fixes it....then if no sound from the pump, replace the pump. Finally if still no joy then it is the expensive replacement and that is a HALDEX 4 logic board.
  7. Your answer is probably right, but it needs to have caveats against it. 1) Fuse layout changes depending on territory. There are minor market differences between European and Australian/Asia models. 2) Fuse 46 can be used for rear heated seats. Agreed this is a sensible possible connection, but this is a high current draw and you may get issues with a voltage drop onto the camera causing it to restart. I suppose it depends on the make/model of the dashcam as well. NEXTBASE camera are good, so it won't matter so much, but cheap Chinese cameras will not have a decent capacitive battery and will glitch.
  8. FYI - fuse info is here: https://digital-manual.skoda-auto.com/w/en_GB/show/19c43d6ad7f142780adf42c76ae70106_4_en_GB?ct=19c43d6ad7f142780adf42c76ae70106_4_en_GB#titled800079164e139581
  9. HALDEX Pump has gone SOUTH!!!! Okay, this system is a HALDEX4 pump system, which means it is usually always connected, but at 15% power to the rear wheels. My first port of call will be the pump. I think you will find this has failed. The failure is caused by a blocked filter. You will need a new pump, a new filter set, pump o'ring and some HALDEX fluid. All of this can be obtained by the brilliant guys from HALDEXPARTS. The filters can be found here: https://haldexparts.co.uk/products/111358-audi-vw-seat-skoda-gen-4-awd-oil-filter?_pos=2&_sid=dd085baae&_ss=r&gclid=CjwKCAjw_L6LBhBbEiwA4c46uhXhX_nUc-ec5bd_Kk3iZ_ihz4n1HVBUW45sAyCn0zNSiq-_mCdoQxoCurAQAvD_BwE Don't forget that once you can changed the fluid, please advise your customer to change the fluid every 20k miles, otherwise they will get another pump failure. Don't forget to 'properly' recommission the pump - otherwise the pump won't relearn with new fluid. Don't forget to retop-up the HALDEX fluid after the re-learning process. You may need a VCDS to get this process to work (haven't tried it on ODBEleven b4): https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/17963/#post-159502
  10. I would go with Fuse 43, which is the rear washer wiper. This is a switched power connection and my concern about taking power from ACC is that this is a mission critical system and I am not sure how CANBUS generally appreciates the fluctuations of power from that feed. It could cause some unnecessary errors.
  11. That's part of Skoda Connect. It does that if connected up and the car detects you are heading for traffic jams. I think that if you go into Nav and Navigation Settings, you should find the voice prompt can be switched off from there.
  12. Quite likely. Most independants removed then as a matter of course. A lot of folk have done the same. As long as you have revision M header tank you should be good to go.
  13. I think that the whole issue with the Silica gel bags is not a good look for VAG and they have clammed up and not even put out a TPI on it (because fixing the whole shebang would cost billions)...I digress.... Removal of the Silica bag is recommended as PM (or changing the header tank)....I also recommend going back to a 5 yearly coolant change.....and if the coolant is a yukky colour then get it changed asap and refilled with fresh G12evo.
  14. Yes, you will probably need to get VCDS or ODBEleven to reset the variable servicing schedules. There is a way of finding out via VCDS....this is an old link, but I think the principles still apply.... https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vw_sri.html
  15. Apologies I think you misunderstood me. This is issues that are electrical. The negative earth from the coil pack to the engine....
  16. Arh - good call for the rest of these - wanted to check out whether the Earthing tabs which bolt onto the engine block are clean of corrosion. The story behind this was that on a 2018 VRS TSI engine that I had, the car had an intermittent rough running on cold. I thought it was spark plugs, but when I took off the coil packs, the earth connections onto the block itself were heavily corroded. I cleaned up the earthing points on the block and the tabs - and the problem went away. The engine ran even smoother!!!
  17. Yes there are workshop manuals on Briskoda and you can for a small fee go onto Skoda Erwin and put in your VIN and download the information from there.
  18. What type of fuels do you use? If Supermarket fuels, please don't use them. It causes performance issues. If the fault is at cold, consider an electrical earthing issue (is the earth's on the coil packs corroded - they are a pain to keep clean....). Issue is cause by bi-metallic corrosion. Can you check to see if there have been no changes to the ECU (either via mapping or mod boxes). You could be suffering from sticking valves or gunk in the injectors caused by poor fuel. Do you run on E10 or E5 fuels? If E10 has this problem only just started? A few things to consider.
  19. Let me put my 5 cents in. Skoda paints are rubbish. There are places where the paint is so thin it is wearing through. I keep my car super clean and it annoys me that even though I try my best it is still rubbish. Eventually there will need to be a proper respray to sort out the poor quality of the paint. To date, I use many Autoglym products to keep on top of the paint work and it tends to work. I had the thinning and ghosting paintwork and I use a light scratch remover which got rid of 80% of the poor paint.
  20. That error message was originally showing that the version of VCDS couldn't see the module. I would respectfully say that later genuine versions might have been able to see the modules. The fault also seems ambiguous in so much it's a front heater issue but then mentions there is a rear window demister issue.
  21. There is a danger that if you over do the tightness you will strip out the threads. The fuel filter housing is aluminium bodied so sure, make a mental note but there is a higher risk you will overtighten. 5nm is a 'light' pinch up tightness, if you are concerned, then use some semi-permanent loktite to keep the screws in place.
  22. @pab567hwhat is the latest version of firmware of SKG11 units?
  23. I'm not the authority here, but I know that @pab567 maybe give the definitive answer. MIB2 on version MHI2_ER_SKG11_P3260 - can this be upgraded to MHI2_ER_SKG13_P4526_MU1440?
  24. I suspect a couple of things here: Firstly, please can you get us the version of firmware you are running. This should be accessable by pressing and HOLDING the Menu button, go to Software -> Version -> Version and then taking a photo of that. You might have an old version of firmware that is causing issues. Secondly - the SD Card - If its a 256GB card (the largest one that a Columbus MIB1 would be able to read - although I am suprised by that as well - as I think that might struggle with anything larger than 128GB, but I digress)....would be the file formats. It is recommended that you would use FAT32 or NTFS as a file format. Depending on your formatted cluster size, it depends on the number of addressable files that the filing system can handle. It also depends on the implimentation of the filing system in firmware as to that length. Thirdly - you might well be hitting the logical limit of the internal database that the Columbus generates - I am fairly sure that 9000 files sounds about right, but this database is generated on the fly. One thing to note - how are you removing the SD Card when you are changing the music? If you aren't cleanly unmounting the SD card on the Columbus, what will happen is that you will get multiple database entries on the internal database and you will most likely hit this limit due to duplicate entries. Try cleanly unmounting the SD Card, remove it physically, do a hard reset (press/hold power button 8 secs) and then re-insert. You might also want to make sure that you are properly unmounting the filing system on your PC too. I mention all this stuff, because of the way that filing systems work (especially FAT). They have a very light overhead in terms of back-end management and are ideal if you are working on filing systems that are intermittently available. If the SD doesn't have a chance of tidying up after deleting files (because you haven't unmounted properly) then you will tend to get very intermittent results - with files still being there (and the file table not reflecting that) or the reverse, with the file table showing there are files in a sector of the SD Card, when this isn't the case).
  25. @SashaGrace maybe one for you....
