WARNING Remote locking vulnerable to attack
Sorry folks, I didn't get that quite right. Lock with the key then touch the sensor to deactivate KESSY temporarily.

WARNING Remote locking vulnerable to attack
Or, with full KESSY tap the lock indent twice. Need to press the key button to unlock.

sat nav updates
The updates are about monthly; and AIUI, the 1st year is free then an annual subscription. In 8000 miles across England, Wales & Scotland I haven’t yet found a road not in the SatNav.

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
Just a thought - check that all of the vents are open

KPH/MPH
Don't be so harsh. A quick look on WeBuyAnyCar to see what they'd offer me for mine - £1k less than I paid for it 10 months and 7000 miles ago. On the topic of compensation, I'm quite happy with what they agreed for me. And before anyone asks, I don't believe it right for me to share the detail of what it was, so I won't. Suffice to say that I started the firm but polite discussion at what turned out to be about 1/2 way in to the 5 months my car was off the road.

Been offered £22k for Mk3, would I be mad to go for a Mk4?
Yeah, I was wondering what else was out there. The Civic Type R I guess - but, IMHO, it's hideous!

If you haven't already, I'd urge you to take a drive in a Mk4, if not a vRS, then a TSi150. in my opinion, the Mk4 is a much nicer place to be than the Mk3, and look far better too. Mine is a 1st Edition and had the trial KPH/MPH fix applied back in September '21. It is genuinely a lovely car to drive and the few remaining niggles are just that, niggles. In 12 months time I am sure those will have been sorted too. Go for the Mk4.

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
I'm curious too. Planning a European road trip for later in the year and want ACC etc. working appropriately. Perhaps an excuse for a short break - assuming France/Covid-19 restrictions allow...

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
This will get the conspiracy theorists going - mine messed up at about 5:25pm yesterday.

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
@LenWalton - interesting that your ACC had a 'moment' the other day. Mine did yesterday, suddenly deciding that it would slow down for one car in the lane to my left after about 25 miles of perfect behaviour, and followed by a further 100+miles of perfect behaviour. Seemingly a momentary lapse 😉 This was the first occurrence of the ACC problem since early Sept '21 when I picked up the car after the KPH/MPH fix was applied. If your car thought Sussex was France, then mine must have thought Newport, South Wales was in fact Nieuwpoort, Belgium 🙂

Dash cam
Yep, what @Kenny R said - or a USB-C to USB-A adapter (with a 90° angle) and use the cable that comes with the dash cam.

Clunk/clicking noise with fluctuation in RPM
Looks like you have the DSG gearbox; what happens if you put it in S mode? This should make the gear change at higher RPM as well as display the selected gear (e.g. S1, S2, …, S7) Could also try using the DSG paddles to do a manual gear shift, might help determine at which (if any) gear change the noise occurs.

Dashcam Fitting
Worth noting that the USB-C socket near the mirror is only powered when the ignition is on, which may (or may not) be what you want/need for the dashcam if you want it for when parked, for example. I know some (all?) NextBase have a battery but I've no idea how long they last. I'm quite happy with my 522GW plugged in by the mirror, and use the cable that came with it (tucked behind the mirror) plus a 90° USB-C --> USB-A adapter.

Driving Mode Reverts To Normal at Every Restart
That doesn’t save either! I use Individual mode and have to select it every time I start the engine.

KESSY functionality on mk4 Octavia
The functionality of KESSY depends on the model. My SEL FE gives keyless lock/unlock (walk up to it and grab the handle to unlock) as well as keyless starting of the engine. The loan SE FE I had for a few months only had keyless starting, to lock/unlock was a press of the fob button. I’ve heard the difference described as ‘Fully KESSY’ and ‘Half KESSY’ but no doubt the marketeers will be changing the terminology at regular intervals just to keep us on our toes 🙄 The range for the keyless lock/unlock is really quite short. I haven’t measured it but reckon it is less than 1 metre. Like you, at first I was concerned about the car being parked on the drive outside and the key fob being located overnight not very far away. A few tests soon allayed those worries. I’ve no idea if the fob turns itself off or not, sorry.

KPH/MPH
@neonplanet40 good to hear they are rolling out the fix but frustrating it’s not right yet! Mine has the same rear seat ghost play with the lights since they fixed the kph/mph issues. The SatNav not working sounds like a workmanship problem to me. whilst mine was off the road for [a mere 5 months] I had the pleasure of an excellent loan car with full warranty etc so don’t feel I’ve missed out on that score. As for compensation etc, worth asking the question of Škoda UK. You never know …

Recalled Again - software
To answer your question - I don’t know. It was purely speculation on my part hence the “… [former?] …” in my earlier post.

Turning auto door lock off
Now, wouldn't it be nice if it showed up in the settings by default, just like it did in my '14 plate Superb II. Probably what is called progress 🙄

ACC Braking when overtaking
Yes, that is indeed tedious, especially if it is every vehicle you overtake. Thankfully mine is now OK after the KPH/MPH fix I had in early September; yesterday drove 250+ miles on dual-carriageways and motorways with no issues whatsoever. Hopefully they can sort everyone else's very soon!

ACC Braking when overtaking
Pretty sure a quick tap on the throttle pedal overrides the ACC non-undertake/overtake function. Seem to recall doing it in mine the other week; haven't had cause to do so recently.

MHEV brake pedal sinking 30-0kmph
I drove an E-TEC for about 8500 miles during the spring/summer. I never got to work out what the regen-cum-energy recovery was doing when decelerating and under braking. Sometimes the brakes felt ‘normal’ whilst at others the car seemed to decelerate more than I expected given my brake pedal pressure. Then again, at times the pedal felt a bit softer than I’d expect whilst braking was fine. This car was also the first car with a DSG ‘box that I had driven so some of my learning about decelerating the car was to do with the engine braking in a DSG, along with the e-Tec regen braking. Having said, I was always felt in control and I could control the decelration; its just the car worked differently to a normal internal combustion engine and a manual ‘box. The brake pedal also lowers itself when the speed limiter kicks in and brakes the car; I wasn’t expecting that, and its the same on my own manual ‘box car. Seems weird that the pedal isn’t where I expect it to be!

Software
@PoloPaul Short answer is Yes. The primary fault was the KPH/MPH issue (couldn’t display KPH for speed and SatNav that could only display distances in Km) - that has been fixed. There is a long thread dedicated that issue. Other than that, sometimes the ACC would prevent overtaking; that is now fixed too (or at least I hasn’t re-occurred since and I use ACC a lot). Since the fix, the car then had the intermittent SOS fault on a few occasions. Was the SOS fault caused by the fix? I don’t know! Prior to the car being taken off the road I had only driven about 1000 miles so it may have been there just not manifest itself. A day at the dealer for a software update fixed the SOS too (so for anyway!). I’ve done just over 3000 miles since the fix and, yes, there are a few niggles with the s/ware. These include a ‘ghost’ playing with the rear interior lights after dark and auto-reconnection of CarPlay when starting up is inconsistent. So, after having my car off the road for 20 weeks and the frustrations that come with that, I am really enjoying driving & ownership experience.

Software
Interesting… I had a fix installed in early September! My car was one of two that had been off the road for months selected to trial the fix.
-
Recalled Again - software
Eight words which perfectly sum up Škoda’s [former?] best selling model. Mine is now basically working OK, but the daily minor niggles persist (such as the ghost in the back seat playing with the interior lights); such a shame.
