  1. Really!? I'm about 9000 miles in and never noticed that! 🙄 My excuse is that I usually just look at the big numerical display in the centre rather than the dials.
  2. No worries. Thanks for the update, and useful to know they replaced the unit. I’ll check the background colour of mine.
  3. The issue in mine only shows up in cold weather, below about 5degC, and stops after a while once the car is thoroughly warmed up.
  4. There are several of us on this forum who have or had similar issues. Check out threads on KPH/MPH and SOS. The popping noise is likely from the SOS system. Some have had a s/ware fix like me, other a replacement unit. The kph issue was fixed in mine as part of a test fix; that was back in September after being off the road for 20 weeks.. I’d have thought the fix would be widely available by now. Ask the dealer to speak with Škoda Technical and with a bit of luck they’ll get more updates for your car. Failing that, get on to Škoda UK yourself, but press for the fix cos it does exist.
  5. If you do feel the need to sit on the drive for. A few minutes, just turn on the ignition and let the Nav system load and set the destination. Then start the engine.
  6. Just a s/ware update. To be fair to the dealer, I had a few niggles to sort and they suggested doing all outstanding updates as a first step; see how it goes then decide what’s next. I’ll be back in touch with them in a day or two after seeing which, if any, of the other niggles remain.
  7. Good news or Bad news first? ok, good news…. Casper 👻 is alive and well, and back in my car 😊😂 bad news…. The interior rear courtesy light was driving me nuts this evening. 40 minutes of fading on and off whilst driving unlit roads is quite a distraction. ☹️
  8. I agree, sort of! yes, weather conditions and road grime can affect the sensors, but in the Octy 4 the ‘unavailable’ alert comes up in ideal conditions at time too. I firmly believe that there is a s/w issue in some cars.
  9. Sadly the ACC fault is a known issue and many in this forum are suffering from the same issue. My own Octy 4 was off the road, at the dealer for 5 months due to s/w issues; it did though help Škoda track down some faults and develop a fix. So far it’s much better, and a joy to drive. ACC isn’t an issue in mine now, hopefully they can get the updates rolled out for everyone very soon.
  10. Ah OK, a shame that didn’t solve it though. Another thought. Did you get an email confirming the service activation? From memory, it took a few days for mine to come through. Can’t think of anything else. Hope you can get it fixed…
  11. There are two services available - Infotainment Online and Care Connect Remote Access. I can’t remember which one the Laura service is in, or if it needs both (one for the voice service, and one for the connection maybe). Have a check in the online Škoda Connect portal.
  12. Managed to get mine to the dealer this last couple of days. A Bluetooth update (for intermittent CarPlay reconnection) and more relevant here, an update for the interior lights. 25 mile drive late this afternoon and it seems ok - will be monitoring it over the next wee while.
  13. Twice in the same place - is that every time you go there? If so, take the dealer's senior technician to demonstrate the problem.
  14. Good to know, thanks for the update. The change in device part number suggests a hardware swap in the infotainment system as well as software updates. Have you noticed any difference?
  15. Not had any TPMS messages or warnings with the Octy 4 in 8000 miles. Had a few in my wife’s CityGo and hire cars of various brands - none of which were actually valid as all tyre pressures were fine. Hope they can sort your faulty system…
  16. @6nations just a thought. Are you registered as the Main User? (IIRC this involves the dealer verification). also services need to be activated through the infotainment system.
  17. Good point/question! Mine is the SEL FE, and that is what I was referring to in that comment. The loan car I had for 20 weeks whilst the FE was being fixed was faultless - that was an SE FE, built several months later but with less of the [flakey - aka bug-ridden] technology such as ACC. Impression I get is that the later the build the more robust the tech - with the exception of those that seem to be missing the wifi module.
  18. You’re right - though I would say that after 11 months of ownership (and a fair few updates) I am a lot more confident in the Mk4 than I was after 1 month.
  19. Not in the same boat, but what about getting a 6 month old dealer demo car? It’s about now that most refresh their cars so should be a good supply (my local dealer has two, but the wrong end of the country!).
  20. @MiniNinjaRob if you’ve been a loyal Thule user before, can you not change the feet/fitting for the bars you currently have?
  21. And another, well nearly. Mine was a Singer Chamois - a dreadful little thing that I keep for only two weeks! Bought me a Triumph 1300 (FWD) which was absolute luxury by comparison. I later upgraded to an 1850cc Dolomite, for which, at the age of 19, the insurance cost more than the car! Learnt to drive in a Triumph Toledo 1300 (RWD) as the driving school decided a Mini would be too small (well, I am 6' 5" tall, but the funny thing is after the Dolomite I bought a Mini Clubman). Got some extra practice in my Dad's Volvo 145 (and I still aspire to a large Volvo Estate but can't really justify the extra ££££). Three generations of car owners (photo from early 1976). Reg number of my Grandfathers Morris Minor always seemed quite appropriate - Poor Old Joe 😂
  22. I've just received the wonderful 'Replace key battery' message today (car registered Sept '20, and done about 10k miles - so, not quite 18 months old). First car key battery I've ever had to change! If/when I change the batteries does the key-user association remain or do I have to redo it? Thanks.
  23. Yes, your dealer should be able to check if there are updates for your car. I say that because my dealer can for my car - speaking to the Service Manager about a couple of niggles the other day. He then spoke to the Master Technician who informed us that there are a couple of updates.
  24. I've got the raised floor in my SEL 1st Ed; a loan SE 1st Ed I had for a while last year did not; both estate cars.. From memory the fittings to the side of the boot area are different. The side mouldings are really quite sturdy, as is the raised floor but the Owner Manual states a max load of 75Kg. I can't see a part number on the side mouldings, only a label on the boot floor. A few photos attached for your info. Hope it helps!
  25. That's good to hear. How well does it work, and would you recommend it? Good thing I don't live anywhere near Lincoln then... 🤣
