I'm not trying to be an arse here but officially it's a footway. A footpath is a formalised public right of way, usual across private land. A footway is the area for pedestrians next to a carriageway, both of which form part of a highway.

That's strange for a newer build. Normally on new builds the adopted highway area is transferred to the LHA under a Section 38 Agreement

But that's irrelevant here as we're talking insurance not govt statistics.

As to your deed boundary the situation whereby you 'own' part of the road is not unusual in older properties as the ownership usually includes the half width of the highway in front, even if adopted, but owners can't do anything with or to it because of the adoption by the LHA. My bet is that there will be a restrictive covenant on it somewhere in the deed's.

For insurance purposes that's a road. On a drive you wouldn't be in a position whereby your car could be struck by passing traffic. That picture clearly shows you can be and are within the carriageway. As an aside why do you park end on rather than parallel?

Not always the case... Depends on the vehicle and engine.

All it includes in relation to the loom is wiring from the front of the car to 'dumb' wiring sockets behind the boot trim. The dedicated kit then includes the control module and wiring that plugs into these and controls the towing socket.

If you're giving it the beans it coul still be the traction control and ESP kicking in as power transfers to the back. Try switching them off and seeing if you get the same.

Evidence for the latter please - as per the 'hydrocarbons to burn are a rapidly dying sector' it would be good to see some concrete evidence showing that the European legacy car companies are being 'destroyed' by Tesla...

No it's not the exact answer... Read again. As for your second statement... I haven't... It was an example. All of the above provides no evidence of reduced vastly reduced Hydrocarbon use. Where are the hydrocarbon use figures that would show hydrocarbons to be burnt is a dying sector. I'm not sure why you are missing the point I'm asking??? And just to be clear I'm not anti EV... I'm actually considering an MG4 as a possible replacement as and when my daughter takes on the hybrid Swift we have.

There's also lots more vehicles on the roads around the world... Ergo there might not be a rapidly dying hydrocarbons to be burnt sector... It might be holding steady or increasing... All I'm asking for is direct evidence of a reduction in the hydrocarbons to be burnt sector but no one has provided it yet... I'm sure you understand why I'm asking as you've asked simarly re other subjects 😀 After all it's not like we've all been posting threads about petrol filling stations closing here there and everywhere... Or posting about the UK or the world using less hydrocarbons for transport. I'm not being funny I'd just like to see some evidence behind the statement otherwise how do I and others know it's valid.

Ie evidence that transport as a whole is burningess hydrocarbons and that hydrocarbon supply for transport is a rapidly dying sector... but no evidence has yet been provided, only comments re sustainable generation of electricity...

That's exactly what is being installed at each A&E bay plus Ambulance layover bays n a number of hospitals across the country already (I've been involved in three so far)

Errr... That info is all about increased sustainable energy and reduced coal use, or reduced oil use overseas. Do you have any uk based evidence of reducing hydrocarbon use as opposed to increased sustainable generation and specifically related to cars as per this topic? And I'm not talking about sales numbers of EVs. Thanks
