  1. It has, significantly. I've had 7 DQ200's since 2009 out of 12 or so DSG's. Smoothness and reliability have improved over the years but application still has a big effect on how they feel. The mapping on some models is much better suited to the drive train than others. The latest gen 1.0TSi's and 1.5TSi's with DQ200's feel a world apart from the early 1.2's and 1.6TDi's
  2. There's only a 5mm sidewall difference between the FWD SEL and 4x4 Sportline. I'm not sure why Skoda on the FWD versions decided to go 60 profile on 16's, 55 Profile on 17's, 50 Profile on 18's and 40 Profile on 19's. 45 Profile on 19's make's more sense for the FWD models.
  3. For FWD models . The SE and SEL run the same 215 section with a drop from 55 to 50 profile on the SEL a 12mm difference in sidewall. Is there a noise difference? Not that I could tell. Is there a ride difference? A slight one over coarse surfaces, probably similar to putting a few psi extra in the 17's . Going to the current sportline gets an increase in width to 225 and a drop to 40 series tyres. That's a reduction of 30mm in sidewall to the SE and 18mm to the SEL. So a far bigger difference to the Sportline and in my opinion the 40 series construction can really be felt. I didn't really concentrate on noise difference because in the first five minutes I knew there was no way I could live with the 19's day to day. I was coming from a Yeti and my only gripe with the Yeti was the crashy ride around town and I didn't want that again. Why did I go go SEL instead of SE? The swap from 17' to 18's was not great and the SEL has a fair step up in kit that I wanted. I'll also point out I didn't try a 4x4 with independent rear suspension and 45 series tyres as I didn't want the running costs of the 2.0.
  4. Your ideal car could be a 2021 "Edition" and buy a set of 16" steelies. Keep the 19" wheels for when you sell.
  5. I don't think so. Sat Nav, Dual Zone Climate, LED DRL's, Adaptive Cruise over SE.
  6. It's Skoda UK's decision on what spec is sold in the UK. They decide that the Sportline get 19" wheels with 40 series tyres and that the SEL (Style in other markets) doesn't get Matrix LED. In most other markets mid spec style gets Matrix LED. Skoda UK also choose what is available as options and what you have to buy in packs. More and more people are complaining about big wheels but it seems UK buyers still like the bling of big wheels in the showroom. Not helped my most of the motoring press.
  7. There are missprints and errors. Actual fitment is 225/40x19 FWD 225/45x19 4x4
  8. Maybe one of the reasons why model on model VAG are phasing out the manual gearbox?

I've bought 16 cars from that dealership, I know Steve and Lala very well. I was talking colours a few months ago. In the bigger models black and grey are still by far the biggest sellers for them. And like you say that's visible on the forecourt.
  10. It's an apple issue. When the phone connects to the wifi networks it assumes the network has data which it doesn't if you don't have a data plan. Forget the cars wifi network in the iphone's settings and the phone will use the phones data.

From what I can see on the last few years brochures WLAN came with wireless phone charger so if it has that it should have WLAN. But also I think Android Auto wireless requires a wifi connection.

Used for connected apps (Which you have to subscribe to), SOS etc and some dealer functions. If you want to use it for people in the car to connect to the internet or to use it for internet radio etc then you need a data plan.

My 2023 Karoq has it but the data plans are a rip off.
  14. I think the Orange just about works on a Karoq Sportline but not SEL or SE Drive. The new Fabia looks great though. I've been considering swapping our 1.0 Race Blue Fabia for a 1.5 Orange Fabia
  15. What trim level is it? SE and SEL Didn't get virtual cockpit until 2024. It was part of a optional Amundsen Plus Pack. They do get a smaller digital dash as standard.
  16. It's purely an indication to tell you the DSG gearbox selector is locked and you need to put your foot on the brake to be able to move the lever into D etc.
  17. If you go used, especially nearly new, you'll probably find the SE is quite rare. Far more SEL's available.
  18. Red and Orange are Exclusive and expensive
  19. We have a Race Blue Fabia. A quite like it, don't see too many Karoq's in it.
  20. If you struggle back wise I find heated seats are worth every penny.
  21. Is that an SE Drive or SEL you are driving? The SEL gets a fair hike in spec for the extra money especially if seating is important. If you are considering new then spec can be found here https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/c63f4efb-a760-4a48-931f-baad88d42aa6
  22. Front ones are just about visible if you open the sun roof and stand on the sill but you don't see much. The exits are easy to see when the front doors are open. Rears are not visible. Water coming out each side of the rear is the best check for a blocked drain. On the scooby front we may have crossed paths if you were SIDC active around 1999-2001. I attended most of the meets/functions/trackdays during that period.
  23. My old one was for sale a in 2022 but it's in storage and not on the road. (Photo below from 2022 sale post) Just before I sold it 23 years ago.
