Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
My 2017 Yeti is currently back with Rainworth Skoda. Bought in August 2020 but leaked at first rain and was "Repaired" in October. Started leaking a couple of weeks ago. I'll report back on the findings. I've asked for an extended warranty on this repair.

As far as I know the software is already in the MIB2 head unit. You just purchase an activation key. I've had Four MIB2's with smartlink and all have been perfect but all will the flagship Samsung phones.

99% of these issues are the lead. I've just had the same with Android Auto on my works Citroen van. Tried three different "quality" aftermarket leads and no joy. Fetched the genuine lead from my Yeti and connects solid every time.

Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
To be fair to Rainworth they fixed mine F.O.C as I bought mine from them but unless Skoda stumps up they can't do that for everyone.

Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
Some discussions ongoing on various other forums and social media about Rainworth Skoda Mansfield. They have a tech who has developed a repair technique and they have a mockup cassette to show customers. Apparently proving very successful and now getting referrals from other dealers. Seats out, sunroof out, repair, refit and reseal. full electrics check for water ingress, carpets lifted and dry out, refit seats, 2x air fresher cycles. Around £1400

While I'd agree that the 1.4 150PS petrol is a good choice, especially for short journey low mileage users the torque is significantly less 250nm vs 340Nm. That and no DSG was the reason I went diesel as my Yeti is used extensively for towing.

Obviously a 150 would be Euro 6 and is a new engine so wont need the "Fix" Having lived with a 170 and 150 I'd go for the 150. There is hardly any midrange difference between the two 340nm vs 350nm and the 150 is more responsive, more refined, more economical and less likely to be caught up in ULEZ charges.

So. Off Road button standard on SE-L 4x4 and above, optional on lower 4x4 models. City/Urban and Outdoor basically have different exterior trim, wheels etc plus limited engine choices in some models. 140/170 Euro5 emissions replace by 150 Euro6.

Missing heated seats Yeti Elegance
It's not UK elegance spec and it's a City but 4x4. Did they ever offer a 4x4 City in the UK?

Amundsen Infotainment question
If it's a 2017 with a Bolero (No Sat Nav) you still have smartlink. Get smartlink enabled by the dealer (If it isn't already) connect a Android or Apple phone and you can have google maps on the Bolero which is far superior to VAG satnav.

Windscreen condensation problem
Yes Ford introduced them and held the patent for many years. That's why they ended up being standard on a Fiesta but an expensive option on many other brands. When Ford owned Jaguar and Volvo many of their models has heated screen as standard to. Through the 90's and 00's I had four Sierra's and five Mondeo's and all the V6 sizes. 2.5, 2.8, 2.9 and 3.0 The Sierra 4x4 system was superb, 34% Front / 66% Rear continuous torque split and a viscous limited slip diff in the rear axle. Very predictable and drivable. The first Subaru Impreza's used the same setup. Lee

Leaking Sunroof
£2000 is cheap it's usually around £3500 from a main dealer including labour. Rainworth Skoda Mansfield specialise in a repair service at around £1000

Missing our Yeti Urban, did the facelift improve on things like rust and DPF ?
I've had three Yeti's and driven the 150 and 170 extensively. The 150 and 170 have near identical maximum torque. 340 vs 350 NM. So midrange performance is very similar. The 150 being a later engine is smoother, quieter and more responsive and is the nicer unit. The only time the 170 feels stronger is pushing past 3500rpm when the extra power is felt. For me I'd always go for the 150PS as it's a nicer unit to drive with, avoids any complications with the emission systems fix and is compliant for many ULEZ areas.

If you want to avoid the "Fix" issues and want a diesel 4x4 then you need a 150 Tdi. These are a completely new Euro6 engine. As for electrics and zinc inclusions, still some reported issues but I guess time will tell.

Retrofit heated screenwash jets?
I also checked mine at 2 degrees ambient. No delay on washers.

Retrofit heated screenwash jets?
I have heated washer jets but can't say I've ever noticed a delay in cold weather. Will try tomorrow.

Towing Eye
The Yeti's towing eyes are no stronger than a Golf or Octavia so definitely no snatch recovery. I've tended to use the towbar to pull people out but again no snatch recovery.

Mechatronic unit failure
Unfortunately I'm not surprised. I've owned five DQ200's and four required warranty work the last one cost £5500 to repair. All less than 30k miles and two less than 15k miles. Ran four DQ250 6 speed wetclutch DSG's over 250k miles and no issues.

Westfalia towbar fitted
Weight wise the detachable hook is relatively peanuts. and secured safely and securely in the boot storage. And you never know when it will come in handy. I always have a recovery rope in the boot as well.

Westfalia towbar fitted
There were some Yeti's that had a higher spec cooling fan than standard if towbar prep was specified or towbar fitted at factory but I've not seen an official list. This is the list for the Karoq.

Westfalia towbar fitted
I have factory fit. It's Westfalia the same as Dale has fitted. The only way to be sure is to check the build codes to see if you have factory or aftermarket. Factory fit towbar will have 1D2 code on your sticker in the boot or in your handbook. On some models in some markets this also includes cooling upgrades but I've never seen a definitive list as to what upgrades to what engines in which markets. Although I have seen a list for the Karoq.
