surely not  ;)

i did mean how good it was :D

I have the nokia 6600, it's ok, software does crash sometimes but picture and video quality is good. typical nokia really which is does the job fairly well. Does take some getting use to the keypad and the feel in you hand

off topic Bluetooth headset which is the best to go for?

Just switched back to a Nokia after a years excursion to a Sony Ericsson - never again will I use anything but a Nokia.

Have gone the other way... was a Nokia stalwart for a long time, in IT so always trying new phones, nothing touched the Nokias..... But the build quality started to deteriate and some of the recent nokia's feel very toylike.

Not sure what will replace my p900, truly does everything I need and then some.

I agree with Ian - I've got a 6610, and it feels distinctly low rent. Their software is the best there is, however, IMHO. I think Nokia have got too lost in this replaceable facias nonsense. I guess they could build something far more sturdy if they didn't have to cater for 12 year olds wanting lurid pink covers

I have 120 Nokia 2110 phones in my drawer at work if anyone wants a sturdy phone.

Oh yeah, and, believe it or not, it doesn't have a 'ring' ringtone! I can't make the damn phone ring!! It has to play some stupid tune :ne_nau: And I'm not paying for a downloaded ringtone either!

Sorry - back on topic - as you might have guessed I wouldn't get a Nokia 6610 :)

my 6600 seems ok, I've dropped it and it's still fine :P now the 3100 that feels like it will fall to bits everytime I use it.

I quite like the 6230 I've just been given.

I have just got a Samsung D410... Its got a fantastic display, looks good, loads of features, sounds good, reasonable standby, ( charge every 5-6 days normal usuage which is on 24 x 7 standby with about 30mins each day )

Bad,, a bit on the large side, no combined ring/vibrate, no Bluetooth...

cheers

oh, btw, don't anyone touch the Sagem MY-x7 - it's well featured (vid cam etc) but the OS is painful, and the whole thing feels like a toy.

(I had one sent free, I gave it back!)

Don't forget, a phone of this age will be only single band. This particular one is 900 Mhz so it would only work on O2 or Vodafone. If O2, it wouldn't work as well as a modern dual or tri band phone because they use 1800 Mhz to fill in the gaps in some areas. On the other hand, Nokia batteries are easy to get hold of.

Had mine for over a week. Good phone all around 8/10. Few flaws - software freezes on the occasion, camera quality is the best out of all the phones thats out there at the moment. But its no way good in comparison with digicam - good resolutions tho 1280x960max.

Not memory upgradeable as there is not memory card slot comparing to 6230 and 6600. mine comes with more than 40meg internal memory, altho it mentions it comes with 35meg .

Whats best was i got it free:P

Not being interested in games, replaceable covers or cameras I would say my current moby is the best I have had. Its a Siemans S55. Works flawlessly, the battery last 2 days (gets a lot of talktime useage) call clarity is top notch and it hangs onto a call/signal like nothing else.

This replaced a Sony Ericsson T68i, of which I had 5 all within 8 months, all had software problems that were known about but not bothered with. Would I have another SE phone....you must be joking.

My priority for mobile phones is call clarity, ablity to keep a signal and nice sized key pad.

Howard,

I have a .midi file with traditional (albeit US style) telephone bell ring on my 6230 - I can direct you to a free wap site to download it if you have GPRS enabled.

John.

i spent 1 year with a 3650 and have had a 660 for a few weeks and i think the nokia camera phones are great. haven't seen a better quality picture with my own eyes, not saying there aren't better ones out just ain't seen one myself and they are sooooo easy to use. 660 much much much better than 3650, lots more solid and a bit quicker, great thing about the memory upgrade, i got about 70Mb in my phone total and I cant see me needing another card for a very long time, as a result i still have every picture i have very taken which is quite handy when you forgot about something. nokia always from now on, went to a sagem for about 1 week. never agian. rubbish

Call me old fashioned, but I use a phone to ring people, a camera to take photos..... After 1 brief foray away, I ONLY use Nokia, the menu system doesn't drive me to drink and it works. Mind you, the sense of some of the Finns - I've got a 6310i. Incredible battery life etc etc, tri band - so the silly b#ggers have stopped making them. Over

I concur with Roger - similarly old-fashioned here, using the phone as a, errr, phone (and, OK, as a modem too), so the 6310i does it for me too. The battery life is amazing and it's solid. Just got hold of one of the last ones, with the old one (still going strong after many years) going to the missus. Indeed, why stop making your bread-and-butter business phone? I can see why others state that Nokia lost its way.

Talking of backup phones - I still have a 1610 in a drawer somewhere! Now that's sturdy!
