Your taste is appalling :thumbdwn:

I'm not the one with the guide dog! hahaha!

oh no looks like they've stuck the front end of a new ibiza on the A4.... at least they're using the cabrio dashboard.....

Parts Bin special!!!

Very much so, just shows how much money they lost with that last Toledo which is awful and didn't sell very well at all!

 Shut up you girl! She isn't a guide dog!

I can't decide whether I like it or not! I know the previous generation A4 was criticized for poor handling and dynamics so I hope they've worked some magic on this one. By the way, I think it will have petrol engines, at least that's what AutoExpress is saying here:

SEAT Exeo | Auto Express News | News | Auto Express

...Three petrol and three diesel engines will be available, and SEAT expects to sell up to 4,000 models. It has the same cabin as the outgoing Audi A4 Cabriolet – which boasted a higher quality finish than the regular saloon version....

I think I like it now:

SEAT EXEO

If the price is right for the estate, it could be the next one!

Really ? My old B7 2.0 TFSI S-line handled brilliantly, and my current B7 2.0 TDI SE isn't to shabby either.

SEAT/Audi have done a good thing here. Gets SEAT into the large car market on the cheap, whilst keeping the successful Audi B7 production lines going creating more profit with out having to totally re-tool.

Shame its not called the Toledo imho.

Looks good though, I'd buy one

all those external shots look incredibly photoshopped to me - I'd like to see an actual picture of one.

Okay, maybe I was a bit harsh, but if the maintstream reviews are to be believed (which they probably shouldn't be!), it's always pitted against the 3-series, mondeo etc. and always seem to come last on the handling tests.

I'm in no position to comment though since I've never driven one! Think I'm just a bit spoilt with my vRS - it's such a great car; it will take more than some fancy Audi switchgear to tempt me over! I do keep looking at it though :D

I've done quite few miles in a 2007 A4 S-Line 2.0 TDi and although it feels a little heavy it's superb for eating the miles on a motorway, never really had a chance to throw it around country roads so couldn't comment on the lower speed handling. But it certainly feels 'planted' at speed.

Well it is recycling.... Seat have come full circle... they started of selling re-badged FIATs.......

When I lived in the sticks I used to love my commute to work. 30 mins of blasting down empty country roads in the sline. It never let me down in the corners.

if the L&K interior had been like that I wouldn't be driving an Elegance.

I do quite like that. When I click Car article I was a bit shocked as to how similar it was to the A4 and thought it was a bit of a waste of time, and showed a lack of originality. But there was a good point made about the similarity of the Superb and Passat.

Overall, I'd probably have one, if I was looking for that sort of car. I quite like the fact people would be a bit confused about what it was.

Also on the possibility of 4WD, there was a '4Motion/Quattro' version of the Leon Cupra available in Europe at one time, so I suppose there's always the possibility. I don't reckon it would be marketed here though, as the take-up would be very low IMO. A bit like the Mk5 Golf TDi 4Motion has been dropped her.

VW have their own "syncro" or 4Motion system

Audi's patented their Quattro system (has it changed much over the years or have they just added electronics into the mix)

Quattro (torsen -orig) is purly mechanical, Haldex (bought in) is the one with the electronics

And 'proper' Quattro is only used on some Audis, it's worth mentioning. IIRC, a current A3 with a Quattro badge utilises the electronic Haldex system.

Press Blurb from Seat:

Seat.jpg?t=1224711349

Translation, with apologies to the SEAT boys:

There is always a first time to produce a half decent looking motor, this is our first time and it has taken our production costs away.

Feel like spending a few quid on some old rope?

At SEAT, when AUDI developed the Exeo, we were mongrelling in unknown territory, with the aim to find out what a new bumper and a couple of Seat badges would look like on an old A4 for the first time.

By re-hashing an old car in an established and lucrative class we dared to break our own mould, and nick AUDI's instead, steering ourselves into a more expensive league - all the while making sure that the Seat badges don't fall off in a stiff breeze.

After all, only those who are confused into thinking it's an Audi will buy this car.:P

You forgot the bit where SEAT apologise for botching the toledo and that raiding the Wolfsburg TK Maxx for last season's frocks was the cheapest way of resurrecting a car like the previous gen. toledo.

Crap.

Difference between the 3B Passat syncro/4 Motion system and the Audi 'quattro' (always lower case q btw) = nothing.

As mentioned the Haldex systems on both A4 and A5 platform cars are identical.

Its a name, thats all.

  • 2 months later...

The Exeo is now on the spanish Seat configurator.

The sport version with a diesel 170CR with no options is 28,500 euros, that works out at just under 27 grand! Obviously it's not going to be a straight conversion once the car is released but you can get a current shape S-Line 170 A4 for around that.

Choices choices for my next new car, Superb, Exeo, Navara (would my cc budget stretch to a diesel TT :) )

Here here! The more I read this forum the more crap I see being stated as gospel truth, it's good to see someone else who can be arsed to correct people

Torsen is also bought in, it is not Audi technology. quattro as we know it today is not what Audi originally released as quattro back in the day. Ur quattro owners can testify that.

To who ever said they didnt like the steering wheel.

Compare it to the new Octy wheel ;)
