Got 4 of these for the day now. :) Hope the forecast is wrong, or at least if it is right (fingers crossed) it will just be longer periods of sunshine with the odd heavy shower. Can cope with that.

Could easily work as a roach pole I think. :D

car is all sorted now guys cheers for the help, were back on route:rofl::thumbup:

I'm going to try for 7:30 as combe is only about 1/2hr from me - depends on the crowd tho.

Looking to be away from Stonehouse at around 0700hrs dependant on the Winja Ninja's breakfast arrangements

I think I'll bring our gazebo along......(putting it up is something else ) and some brollies......met office forcast has changed again this morning ....they generally get it rightish the night before, so don't read too much into it

ffs everytime time i look at the met site i see more and more fudge king clouds with 2 rain drops

heavy rain is beyond poop

At least it sounds like broken up rain. :) Going to mean a damp track session even if in a dry spell, which is a bit of a pain as all the fun is taken out of it.

cant it sty dry til ive seen u lot go round the track :) lol it can fudge down then so i can hope to see jap cars crash

I'm getting new tyres (Kumho KU31s or Uniroyal Rainsports depending on the price the garage gets back to me with) tomorrow.

Do I go around the track for 15 minutes on those, or on my (just legal) Eagle F1s? :D

those flags look awesome jase!!

:'( 5 o'clock start for me! and kev if he gets out of bed on time hahaha

I wouldnt want to go on anything 'just' legal in the wet?

Castle Coombe is lovely in the sunshine! and if its intermitant shower, but as you say isnt nice in heavy rain. I'm not on the stand cos didnt know if i was working or not, but now turns out i'm not so am coming! Might borrow my Brothers Hilux if its really wet so I can park up on the bank and watch from the car! without getting stuck on the grass!

went there one year in my brothers old Hilux with V8 and it hammered down and so many people got stuck on the wet grass while i was storming round lol.

Even though they're 'just' legal they still perform very well indeed in the wet - speaking from experience last week :)

Yokohama pradas on the front may be an issue in wet/damp conditions, will sort the men from the boys though haha.

A slight drizzle would be quite nice at keeping my tiny little side mount intercooler cool...

Do we get a prize for the first skoda in the kitty litter and the first fabia on its roof lol.

Kev

true,

I have always bought Eagle F1's for the last 4/5 years as i think they are awesome, until last time I bumped for some Vredesteins as thought I better try something different to see if they last a bit longer as i dont really hammer around like i used too (and they were a bit cheaper)

My only problem is if I go in on barely legal tyres and scrub much off in 15 minutes then I'll have 2 illegal front tyres and I guess police presence will be quite high because we'll all be easy targets for them.

At the same time I don't really want to use brand new tyres :D

Completely different when you hit a puddle at 80-100mph on a corner though.. Ideally a good set of wet tires that have been scrubbed in the dry with deep tread.

Testing at oulton park last year with Toyo R888s with torrential rain and visibility down to around 5m was a bit hairy. You end up going faster on the grass than the track because it's so wet.

Still good fun :)

Thanks Kev :)

Silverstone was hairy enough in the damp at Trax last year. If there is even a slight bit of moisture I will be taking it very easy indeed in the corners....

The only slight upside of a damp day is for spectating, as there will be plenty of spinning....

There better be good weather as I've spent all week tarting the car up .........Typical
