Can you find out what happened to your old cars???

Featured Replies

As the title really anyone know if there's a way of checking up on your old motors in this world of everything being online etc......

Just wondered if any of my past motors were still on the road etc.... I know my first car bit the dust just after i sold it.

Cheers

Dave.

You can check if they are still in use by checking if they are taxed via the DVLA. Choose "vehicle enquiry".

I saw my precious escort mexico about 3 months after I sold it. On the back of a breakdown wagon, badly bent, and clearly heading for the great car park in the sky :(

I've often wondered this. My Old Octy vRS is taxed until 1st October 09 so should still be knocking about somewhere.:D

the only two ways i can think of is the insurance database to see if its still insured and also the dvla to see if its still taxed (or declared scrap).

My old octy 4x4 elegance is still alive KE51 **P

My little Blakfabi is still taxed until Jan, but I should hope so, it's only 3.5 yrs old. My mondy is no longer laxed, I hope it isn't dead :( My mum's old fabbie is still on the go bless it, taxed til June :)

I looked up my mum's old E reg Volvo as I used to like that car, apparently it's last tax ran out in 2003. It's weird though, it's brought up details which I don't think are right  It says it is gold, when it was silver and said it's a 1721CC when I'm sure my mum said it was a 1.4. Obvsiouly this was years ago and I guess it's possible she may have been wrong, but hmmm..... how odd.

Can't remember the reg of my dad's old beemer so can't check that one. oh well.

I miss Blakfabi :(

Cool thanks for the replies guys..... Had a run through some of our old motors.....

My first car was written off a few weeks after i sold it to a friend of my then GF so i knew about that one anyway.

Rover 214SLi Bit the dust 4 years ago

Rover 600 Sport Still up and running

VW Polo GTi Still up and running

MG ZS+ Still up and running

CTR Still up and running

Lexus IS200 Sport Not sure..... Tax ran out in September this year and it's not insured..... Has it gone or is it just sat on some dealer forecourt somewhere??? If it is still going it's changed owner as the owner after us changed the reg to a personalised one and it's now showing as back on it's original reg.

Rover 200 Sport Again not sure Tax ran out in September and not insured so may have gone or may be on a dealer forecourt etc......

Also looked for a couple of my old British Rail vans that i had.......

1988 Astra estate van Didn't come up on the DVLA system???

1991 Astra estate van Bit the dust in 2004

Also checked out 'my reg' DAV1D....... It's still on the same Bentley i saw it on @ Windsor last year. :)

Cheers

Dave.

I had that with a Manta A years ago, I bought it off a mate for £20 with most of the front missing and shot rings, put another lump in and scoured the scrappy for the bonnet, grille and bumper, then ran into G/F trouble and had to sell that and my MK3 Cortina GT, when thing's improved about 6 mths later I went to see about buying the Manta back as it was unfinished business for me as I had plan's to turn it into a mini Miami Vice Daytona mobile by having the roof off it, I spoke to the blokes dad I sold it to and he'd scrapped it cos the alternator had packed up
