You could always get Cruise control retrofitted to the Octy if you wanted it - contact "Unit 18" (A Briskoda partner) and I'm sure Ross would be happy to quote for doing that work :)

Cruise was my only add on option, but it's an easy retrofit if you don't have it.

The only other thing I asked for was maxidot, but I didn't know I wanted it until too late. TBH it would have been nice but it's not a killer.

My car came with dual climate, 18" alloys and the jumbo box for free as a deal. The only one of those I'd really miss would be the Jumbo box. I like to have an armrest and the AUX socket is handy.

I wouldn't be without my Maxidot and Bluetooth Kit (retro fitted) .

Half wish I had gone for Xenons though!

Never use my cruise control but didn't pay for it as it was standard so no biggie: I don't really see any need for where I drive and they sap your fuel economy like something crazy! I find the front sensors and maxidot are very handy, and it's personal but I like my sunroof A LOT.

My wife doesnt miss cruise on her octy but i use it a lot on my Merc and miss it whenever i drive her car

think jumbo box and maxidot are a must as are parking sensors, i'll think about xenons

I'd go for xenons, but think cruise is pretty pointless unless you spend a lot of time on quiet dual cabbageways.

Think about options that will be 'must have' options when it comes to selling it. Heated seats, xenons and parking sensors would (and were) on my list amongst other things. I would opt for anti whiplash head rests and curtain airbags as well. I'm glad I did as SWMBO got punted by a Ford Galaxy last year.

I'm not that worried about resale as i keep my cars a long time, had my current car 8 years this year, i'm guessing the TFSI wont be worth anything when i come to trade it in

Can you please explain a bit more, why you like your sunroof a lot? :) I know it's personal, but still...it would be good to see why people like it.

I've just happened to order sunroof, but not bcs I wanted it, but bcs I had to take it within a pack (confort pack in France includes duo tissue/leather seats, sunroof and front parking sensors - rear sensors were in the standard spec). I took the pack only bcs of the duo seats, as I didn't want full leather and alcantara was not available in the combination with my engine.

Let's hope, I will like the sunroof...I never had one, so it is difficult to imagine how good or bad it is :)

Makes the interior of the car much lighter, and you can OPEN it - gosh! So in the summer you can drive along with the sky above your head, instead of some grey felt.

As you and the previous poster say, a personal thing.

I have cruise on the Leon, and had it on the Fabia too. It is sometimes nice but I rarely use it because the roads I drive on are too busy usually.

Parking sensors. If Skoda did a quickclear screen like Ford it would be a massive bonus and is a real safety feature. The front screen boost doesn't work half as well.

Ford hold the patent which covers LR/RR/AM and Mazda for a while which stuffs things up quite nicely, I would love a heated screen and heated washer nozzles as well.

A heated steering wheel would be a nice option but that is probably not going to appear for a while yet :P

IIRC Cruise is now standard on the 2009 vRS; so that's that sorted.

Must have options in order of benefit/desirability; 1. Maxidot (its cheap); 2. Xenons, absolute must have; 3. Rear parking sensor, makes parking sooo much easier, 4. Heated seats, particlaurly with the current weather. After than anything else is a waste of money and/or doesn't matter.

DSG is a must for congested roads. Love mine ;)

Don't get a rear parking sensor if you have a long narrow driveway as it goes off all the time when you reverse.

I find it easier to turn and look behind myself I can judge when the car is 6 inches from most things, the sensor starts beeping at about 2 foot then gives a constant beep at about 1 foot. Its not as good as what you get in a BMW but probably is a fraction of the price.

I wish I had ordered the steering wheel audio controls so you don't have to take your eyes off the road!

My wife tends to ignore the parking sensors unfortunatly thats resulted in a small prang when she first got the car and then she managed to reverse into my Skyline ....grrr!

At least i got a respray out of it though

You'd be surprised. I 'drive' cars on the CC. And there's a definite improvement in fuel economy: the computer can regulate things much better than your right foot can.

And the best thing is there's no chance of getting nicked by motorway speed cameras.

i agree , last year i drove my E class from Derby to Newbury on cc almost the entire trip

CC depends on the time of day, rush hour is out of the question for most, 3am on a quiet motorway - lovely.

Another problem is people who go past, pull in and then proceed to slow down slightly meaning you have to start prodding buttons on the CC stalk or change lanes and do it all again :thumbdwn:

Wouldn't be without zenons and cruise is great for dealing with the average speed cameras on the A14 Cambridge - Huntingdon. Also have curtain airbags - not expensive and worth it if ever needed.

Might have gone for maxidot if they had called it something that better explained what it could do!

Id be lost without my Jumbo Box, rear parking sensors and maxidot. Just wish my L&K had bigger alloys, OEM Bluetooth, a sunroof, xenons, body coloured bumper strips and a heated steering wheel. I suppose an mfd3 wouldnt go amiss. Oh, and a bigger engine would be nice. I kinda wish the leather was ivory also. Did i mention i want xenons?...

Chop it in for an MY08 L&K and retro the BT and MFD3 and slap on a remap - job done

If only it was that simple eh

Exactly as ncarring said about the sunroof: light and airy and it's great to get fresh air in without having the windows open and blowing everything about.
