A big  to vRS_2003 for pointing me in the direction of this stuff.

A few weeks ago I ordered Gold Class Shampoo and Conditioner (

I should think anything that had 6 hours of polishing should look pretty good :D

I used zymol - expensive - but has produced a good finish - too dark for pics

TBH there was quite a bit of stopping, starting, smoking, having a cup of coffee, thinking why did I ever start this? going on.

This is the first time I've waxed or polished the car since I've had it so I was determined to do a good job. I was really careful trying to keep it off the trim but as it happened it didn't matter.

It's a doddle to put on and the foam applicators are just the thing (I wasn't convinced originally). Getting the stuff off is a bit of a swine but well worth it.

Note: This is a wax, not a polish.

I use the same stuff, and it is good.

The first time I used it I found it a pain to remove to, but have since found that I was laying it on too thick. Nice thin coat...jobs a good un :)

Cheers

At least I did not buy the concours wax which was over

Rich1068...Liquid Gold Class is good BUT you did not read the back label!!! It specifically say DO NOT APPLY TO RUBBER OR VINYL! You dod not apply it to rubber or vinyl and hence no white patches.

However...I make a recommendation. When you come to replace the Liq Gold Class buy instead their NXT...it awesome and soooooo easy and sooooo simple to use! :)

I did read the back label. More than once. I didn't apply it to the trim it's just that with the best will in the world you do catch it. As it happens it doesn't 'white' like eg Autoglym or other polishes.

Re: next time and the NXT. The advice is appreciated but my back is telling me there won't be a next time :o

NXT - what is it ?, how much is it ?

Sorry messed up the quote system :D

John..the product is called NXT and it is far superior to Liq Gold Class. :)

Ta.

top stuff for the money i use the 3 step kit, carnuba wax makes me hungry though, smells of nanna's

Meguiars, The tyre shine and trim detailer are also excellent products, tyre treatment lasts for weeks... trim detailer stops the dreade white/grey plastic look:eek:

:D Phil

I'm now using Meguirs and if you really want it to look like glass, then get the quick detailing clay. Takes a while to do the whole car, but once that has been done and you put a coat of NXT wax on, it looks amazing!

Just look at the shine and reflections on a yellow car. On a black car, it will look simply amazing!

btw to add,has anyone who's been in contact with meguires had nothing but exellent customer service?

i made a mistake on my order, mailed them and explained.the reply was an applogy for not noticing my mistake(ordered 2 lots of step 2 not 1,2,3)they sent me a replacement, and was told the extra bottle was on them!?!?!?!all this was done within a day or so.

I use Meguirs on my van, and yes it does a good job. I dont consider it easier to apply, or a better finish tho than the Swissol so I will continue to use that on the Superb.

And if you want reflections...just check out those legs in my gallery! :o

As well as Swissol ;)

But Stella isn't 'reassuringly expensive' It's overpriced pee-pee brewed in the UK under license

So. Back to the Swissol. How much is it?

Think I paid around

well I would like to piont out that by and large I'd agree with Kentish.

However, I have extensively tested NXT and a 500ml bottle did 16 cars!!!!!!!!!!

The moto is...apply sparingingly just as it says on the label.

Therefore a 500ml bottle from Meguiars (NXT) should last a punter around 12 months if not more if they wax every month. :)
