I've been away for a while (month in Dallas for work, life's a real bitch sometimes) but am now back in the good ol' United of Kingdom, and the main topic for discussion in my head is about getting my hands on a vrs. I test drove one before I left, well impressed, so am leaving work early today to try and eke out a good deal from my local dealer. He has a couple available at the mo, one red, one silver, so am going to make my mind up later. If all goes well I could be driving it out of the showroom, probably not today, but maybe Thursday or Friday, fingers crossed.

Just found out mine's around three weeks away as well, its going to be the longest three weeks of my life i'll bet

btw. Standard car, don't really want any of the extras tbh, as long as I've got the car I won't need any bits n bobs to keep me happy.

Normally I don't get too excited about new cars, but I can't wait for this one! I think it's partly because I never had a test-drive!

You guys are lucky, when we ordered ours we had to wait 3 months as we wanted a few options and also black.

we wanted one in black with a 6 disc changer

they had a black 1 with 6 discer and cruise sitting roung the back

got a discount and free cruise and car in about a week including registration of a private plate

my dealer could'nt trace me an octy vrs(probably just being idle) but had THREE fabia vrs to drive away at the end of the week! Fabia a great looking beast but not big enough for my tribe!

I got my car three weeks ago ... walked into the dealers and was sitting in the showroom VRS in Red .. stunning looking thing, picked it up 4 days later, with them also putting my personalised plate on the car (which involved a 4hour wait in the local DVLA for one of the admin staff !) ... great service !!!

You gotta remeber that the price stayed the same when there was a price increase accross the rest of the range a while ago, although

I still think it represents good value for money. I didn't get a discount, but I got an excellent trade-in, which amounts to the same thing, I guess.

Mine's black with cruise control: it was a car that was coming in anyway, so I put a deposit down. Around here, they seem thin on the ground in the dealers.

Having signed on the dotted line on Tuesday, I thought my RED Vrs was up to 10 weeks away. How things have changed! Yesterday I was speaking to a guy at work, who said he knew someone at a different garage t othe one I was getting my car from. Got in contact with this new guy, he undercut the previous price and told me he had a black one sitting behind him in the showroom, ready to go, choice of plates and all, so got back on phone to guys I'd ordered with, told them all about it, they said leave it with me. They rang 20 minutes later to say the y could match the price and get me a black one in four days. Happy days said I, called back the other guys, they pushed the sale so hard I said I'd go with them. Got back to the first guys, they started to talk about the fact that i'd already signed paperwork, this guy was adamant that he would start proceedings against me if i went with the other guys, then agreed to match the offer! Phew! Agreed to this just to save any more hassle, apparently he'd been on to the other garage in a rage, shouting the odds about stealing customers etc! So the end-up is I'm getting a brand new black VRS in four/five days, paying over 500 less over the four years. Most stressful day of my life!

Excellent and well done. I had to wait the full 10 weeks for mine which seemed like forever. Keep us updated with your thoughts when it arrives. I'm so pleased with mine. I've driven quite a few cars over the years, usually newish cars on hire and i've not driven a car that is this miuch fun for ages, if at all.

This will be my first new car, I can't wait to sit in it and smell THAT smell, you know the one (I'm not talking about the smell of last night's curry btw). Then I'll be off down the motorway with a massive grin on my face!

I have to wait 11 days and I think that is bad Picking up my new vRS on tuesday (i hope). Can't wait - I havn't been able to sleep properly since last friday when I put down the deposit. Still 5 days, 1 hour and 52 minutes to go :eek: :(
