Nah, wont get another Fabia vRS for that money unfortunately.

If i'd got more money from the insurance, i would've tried to top it up and buy Mr Grumpys, but it aint gonna happen now.

Just need to see whats about really.

As i said, i have something i'm interested in, but i'm waiting to hear back about it, so really at the moment, there's nothing definate.

I did say to get in contact with me. I'm sure we could have sorted somthing.

There is/was a late Aug '03 one on here I'm sure, red, that had been used as a Skoda demo. Col's was the first Briskoda Fabia vRS

Not sure who else on here had one from the start - Ross's one springs to mind, that Xav now has. Not sure on exact age though.

Wouldn't have made much difference to be honest Rob.

I had a few offers for the car, but it if i bought it and sold it on, it would mean having to cancel my insurance, as if i kept the policy going, they wanted to see a completion certificate for a repair.

So really, i'm making more than i would've done with selling all the bits that i've taken off.

gutted for you, but on to new pastures as they say..

Yeah, i'm sure something new to me will appear shortly. ;)

Just read this. Feckers. I will never understand mindless vandalism, I hope the culprits die a nasty death.

Cheers Ben.

Just makes you wonder what goes through their minds. :(

Just hope it doesn't happen to my next car !!

Well they didn't hang about gettting it up for sale . . .

D Hales - UK Motor Salvage Auctions

It's in Gainsbrough DHales.

I might have a bid on it as my mate is looking for one for his missus now they've had a kid.

Light allround damage?!?!?!

Keith, you should've PM'd me, my seats were mint.

Up for sale already eh ?

Would be nice if i'd even had the payout for it yet !!! :(

Rob, if you do go for the car, it needs a new clutch/dmf, and a nearside wheel bearing, near side caliper is knackered too.

CEL is also permanently on too, never got it checked so cant say when it was.

Had a recent tandem/vacuum pump on it, but had a pretty bad diesel leak too.

Just to let you know. :)

yeah i know, was a total afterthought! i'm just too lazy to get my covers swapped over.

bit of a ****er you've not been paid out yet the car is for sale! i thought the car would be in storage until the claim settled.

:D Lazy git ! :P Could've been yours for nowt. :(

Yeah, is a bit grim that they've taken so long, V5/MOT/spare keys are all with them too. :(

Hmm . . . maybe I won't bother then!! lol.

The car was in great nick until Jonny got his mitts on it

Oi ! :D :D

Well, to be fair, i have the clutch & dmf sitting here to go on.

The brakes were fine till i removed the 312's and put the OE ones back on.

Wheel bearing is an easy fix, and fuel leak is the pipe underneath the vacuum pump.

:P

(.....)I've also known this car ever since I first joined here, saw it last time at the scottish camping last year (where Johnny brought some nice whiskey!)...

The rest is, I presume, history.....!:D

Many years ago a group of hoods threw a house brick at my car whilst I was sitting in it - now it was an M3 so you can imagine how displeased i was. I drove off and parked out of sight, then returned to "speak" to them. I got lucky and put 2 of them down before a platoon of hoods showed up and chased me the lenght of belfast.

Well done, both on laying the smackdown on two of them and also on getting away afterwards.

Johnny 50: my commiserations, mate. I also can't post on here what I would do if I caught someone doing it (or who had done it) to a car of mine - if I had one. But I would have no hesitation in carrying it out.

It looks to be making very strong money to me, I have had 2 fabia's from D hales now! This one is up to £1660 with over a day to go. I paid less for a 55 plate with full leather and 30k on the clock!, it was dmaged but probably cheaper to repair than this one.

Alex

Yeah, seems to be holding it's money, although i wouldn't pay what it's going for now !

And it went for £2020 !
