Yes.. its true, jasons turbo let go on the 2nd lap in a spectacular way... luckily he got it onto the grass before it dropped the oil.

The car is currently sitting in storage waiting to be brought back to the UK

Oh dear not good :(

Sorry to hear about your car Col- Hope ya egt it sorted soon.

As for Jason- we all now the mongrol will be back on the road soonish and with more power.

Shame it had to let go so far from home though.

Sorry to hear that. Insurance or getting it done yourself? RRG bodyshop is in Swinton iirc. I've used a VW/Audi place over by the M67 before, they were so-so. If you've got one in mind, let me know, I need some work too.

To bad to hear about jason

Here some pictures of mine

How my car ended up leaving the Ring on it's 2nd lap! :(

A good trip though, if you ignore the mechanical failure!

1) Good company, plenty of laughs

2) A good sub 10 minute first lap with some hold-ups

3) Plenty of cheap decent beer

4) Getting half the beer cost back in bottle deposits :D

5) Steak on a stone in the PK

6) PAX laps in the MX5 of alexmechanic

7) Good weather, BBQ, Beers - excellent!

I am not letting the fact my car is still in Adenau, Germany, get me down. Time for turbo research.

WALKOFSHAME.jpg

2 Fabias from Devon, both on their 2nd lap, near the Karussell (im guessing), both with blown turbos in the space of 2 weeks - something is going on here.... haha.

Feel for you dude, it will seem a long wait for it to return home! I had a phone call today saying my car will be at my garage in Newton Abbot tomorrow, then time for new shiney turbo :D

Any more pics of the trip anyone?

What an excellent trip - you summed it up well Jason. Here is a link to our pics on FB, not sure it will work though... Login | Facebook

It will cost me a lot.

Looking at my sig, I might have to call off the Dartmoor Tour! Feck it! At least my mate has said he will take over the Colerne day.

Just like to say a big thank you for you guys organising this, a truly fantastic weekend and something that will stay in my mind for years to come.

A little bit difficult with me and Keith being tee total, but we got through it in the end.......

Keith is frantically looking for pics of the cars on the ring, and so far has found his and Colin ( Get the porsche )

GET TO F**K! The bottle deposit refund machine was fun though!

Just found this thread. Let me know if you're going next year ... :)

:D Yes Phil, it sure was a blinder wasn't it? Great company, great times.

Jason, is it all workin out ok with the recovery?

It was a shame about the mechanical issues with 3 out of 5 of our cars but all in all it was a very enjoyable time! If anyone is out there and needs a garage, I would really recommend Oli at Car Service Nurburg, what a legend that guy is, we rolled up at 5pm on Friday with a broken coil spring and a box of Weitecs and he booked us in for 10 the next morning and by 2:30 we were all ready to go out on track with coilies all set up to TUV approved heights

Such a good little group as well, we've made two good friends in Phil and Keith from SCN, the Sunday afternoon family day out (4 up on the Ring in the Cupra) was hilarious!

I'll try and put together a short trip journal at some point

we NEED the video.... "get the porcshe get the porcshe!"

Excellent trip was had by all.... whos up for next year :D

Date depending- I am soooooo up for it- these trips have a wiff of legendery about them

Video will be available just as soon as the link lead stops playing hide n seek Col

Have you got yours onto disc yet Phil?

guys i saw some of you around but don;t know any of you, i do remember going past the Red octavia sideways just before the mini karusel, we were in a Clio 200 cup then ( which are surprisingly slow)

I also saw a a few on the track, time just seemed to fly. None of you lto go to the nightclub, was a proper laugh,

If anyof you have any spare redline vouchers or unused tickets floating around let me know, as i'm back there at the end of october so can use them up save them going to waste....lol
